Replacing the L with an uppercase i ?
... "in a move that will please the green lobby, the switch can be run off a battery that, according to CSR, will last for up to six years"
These statements are dumb. If it takes six years to flatten a battery. How much mains power could it possibly use. Plus you don't have the environmental impact of battery disposal.
Apple already have an option to disable all In-App Purchases. It has been in General > Restrictions for some time now.
I'm quite sure that all apps need to use an API to do in-app purchasing, so there shouldn't be any way that devs can bypass this.
In Queensland they are introducing the requirement that all tattoo parlour operators must have their fingerprints recorded in CrimTrac before their tattoo license will be renewed. You don't even need to be a criminal! They also said the prints will remain in the system permanently and can be used to match prints from crime scenes..
Hopefully the rumour is wrong, and it turns out to be a tablet capable of running OSX or bootcamp-ing windows 8.. That could be nice.
So the PS4 is for "play". But I read here that it won't play mp3 or stream DLNA.. What kind of 'play' is that.
I'll stick to my PC thanks
I thought all tablets that run a full i5 or i7 processor will have fans- they are basically a laptop.
I've used a toshiba z10t, Samsung ativ pro, Lenovo helix. All have fans.
I wouldn't want a passively cooled one, they would get too hot.
These prices aren't that cheap once you factor in monthly line rental. I'll keep my unlimited Jiva thanks!
Use a leaked key during the install, once you are in, use slmgr.vbs /ipk your-enGb-product-key and it should be fine. I did the same with 8.0 en-us media
Re: Relent some more will ya????
I found in my testing that if you deploy Windows 8.1 RTM via WDS, you can skip past the prompt for a product key. I though this was a bit strange, but it worked fine.
When I was younger, I once stayed up til midnight to plug in my alarm clock, just so it would flash the time. It was one that the time would change so it was accurate and constantly flashing...
How much for the ps4 without the Cinavia feature?
"...such as stealthily posting tweets, taking photos, stealing device identity information, sending email and SMS, attacking other apps, and even exploiting kernel vulnerabilities..."
fairly sure that the user must first allow the program to send tweets/take photos/send sms...
not sure how it would attack other apps as its sandboxed, - unless it jailbreaks the device first..
this sounds a lot like Differential GPS..
but with "phase" detection...?
D-GPS has been around for years, and did ~10cm accuracy- IIRC
I'm not surprised that there are 100k+ apps in the store..
I was browsing in it (for the first time) and I saw at least three different versions of Media Player Classic with the same image, and they were all $5. There must be pretty poor (or none) QA process..
I'm curious to see if restoring firmware via DFU would bypass this protection, unless that prompt for iCloud I'd and password is kept in a separate location on the device..
I think that the plane manufacturers should stop building windows into the floor of the cockpit..
Also, that must be a pretty powerful laser to have the brightness of a camera flash, spread over. The area of a cockpit
Re: Crappy Blizzard GFX
The extra graphics power required would be due to the engine they use in the game.
If you want to reduce your laptop overheating, lower the framerate limit in the game's video options. - this works well for me even in Minecraft.
The default limit is something like 150fps, and your graphics card will just max out to try and meet that.
I'm curious to see if said warnings include a list of the copyrighted content that was allegedly downloaded.
Was it not previously ruled that an IP address is not sufficient to prove that the owner of the connection is the one committing the infringement.
If you were to run a TOR node, wouldn't this give the same result?

Did they just sneak more platters in??
3mAh? at how many volts?
This doesnt give an indication to the actual capacity this offers.
Low power LEDs, that you might find in your optical mouse may draw between 4-20mA at 2 volts (according to wikipedia)
**Assuming** this battery outputs 2 volts at 3mAh (0.004w), it might run a low power LED for maybe an hour..
an AA battery (1.5v/250mah) could run the same for almost 4 days?
Just more quickly thought up ideas to try and win the election.
ie. Vote for me and get a free ipad! (in a nutshell)
I cant stand Anna Blight after what she has done.
Where are all the well thought out ideas that show efficient and USEFUL spending?
low screen resolution
I dont think that the low resolution is an issue at all.
To those who would like it alot higher, could you stare at 1920x1080 over a 12.5" area?
everything would be so small and just cause frustration
