Pirate Bay plans sky-high flying proxy servers

b166er

@AC 02:36 -

You come here with your swanky new sayings, but please, explain, why would they belong in prison?

Personally, I think setting up a mesh network beyond the reach of regulatory bodies/dictatorial governments is a great idea. As someone else mentioned, just blueprint a self-configuring node and we'll work on getting the price right down.

IT pros lack recent skills

b166er

So, to summarise, the arse has fallen out of IT.

Time to leave the kids to it and set off for pastures new?

Perhaps I'll start iPad's Anonymous and turn some coin helping the poor technology refugees of the future.

This happens when you get clan members on the same FFA FPS servers too! Slighly unfair :D

The final BIOS is Beta for chrissakes and can't even boot Windows 7 because they fucked up the Trusted Core module (as far as I can tell) and never finished the job.

It's far from the only problem I had with Asus boards, but then I haven't bought Asus for over 5 years because of the problems. Rumour has it they've improved, but I'm once bitten, especially considering there are other excellent manufacturers out there.

Microsoft 'yanked optical drive from Xbox 720'

b166er

Please let this be true.

If it is, I'll be dancing on the grave of optical media.

I forsee being able to send existing 360 games in the post to Microsoft so they will license me to download them through Live to my SSD.

I've been waiting so long for console manufacturers to get back to ROM style usage, rather than these utterly shite unreliable optical discs.

BT ordered to cut Openreach fees for rivals

b166er

AndrueC: From my point of view, that's exactly the problem with BT, rather than upgrading all the exchanges to 24mpbs, they're focussing on upgrading the most lucrative exchanges to Infinity.

David Rickard: the 'broadband only' part, presumably means when an ISP provisions broadband but you continue to pay BT for line rental. There will never be a broadband only product (unless the line rental charge is incorporated, in which case it would be pointless not to have a phone service thrown in as well)

In Paisley, at a business centre, we get 2.8 if we're lucky.

Even when we do get 2.8, the modem rarely holds the connection long enough, so the IP profile never has a chance to stabilise at that speed (it takes 7 days).

Basically it's piss poor and we all know who to blame.

Woman spanked for dissing ex in Facebook snapshot

b166er

There are some unknowns here. The woman put the pictures up in 2010, 5 years after the divorce. They may have been taken soon after the divorce and only posted recently for some reason.

However, as it states that the t-shirt was purchased by the current boyfriend bought the t-shirt in 2009, they can only have been posted a minimum of 4 years after the divorce.

I have to ask, why she (and the boyfriend) felt it necessary to post these pictures on a public website, 4 years after the divorce? It sounds like she has moved on and found a new partner. Why he feels the need to highlight the fact that the ex-husband is an arsehole, is beyond me.

Perhaps the new boyfriend is getting his jollies provoking the ex-husband for some reason, or perhaps the ex-wife hasn't finished tormenting the ex-husband yet even though she's in a relationship with another man.

Not sure why the ex-husband is getting a hard time on this forum.
