Nintendo cuts full-year forecast – by BILLIONS

h3

That is another thing I don't get so called "hardcore gamers" playing FPS's with a pad "?" on consoles.

(The title is meaningless now)

I always thought those hardcore gamers were playing FPS's or stuff like Starcraft in competitions.

People always discount Nintendo.

(At least in Japan there is a fair amount of people who would buy whatever console required to play the next Dragon Quest game (Including a system if necessary)).

Most of the PS3 games I have wanted to play (That I have seen on both consoles) run far better on my PC. Whereas Nintendo games you have no choice.

Nintendo unveils Network for console connectivity

I hope that this means for e.g 4 children in a family everything doesn't need to be bought 4 times for the same console.

(Don't see why keeping the content with the account is a good idea on Nintendo - Convenient for an adult without kid's but not for families that I think are Nintendo's prime market).

Google+ lets in nicknames, slams door on plebs' pseudonyms

I think Google fails to understand the valid security reason for not using your real name (That your bank account is under) on the internet.

Linking them together makes it even worse.

The real world and the online one should never be linked. (I know that sentence sucks but I cannot think of a way to put it better right now).

Opera mini is the way past any internet filtering on mobiles.

I am glad my parents were not so prudish (never card what I looked at and afaict I am none the worse for it).

No way I would do random checks of anything its wrong. (Same way them looking through the parents stuff is).

I would rather teach them that the big brother attitude unequivocally and without exception.

(The european attitude towards nudity and sex is far better than the American one we seem to be emulating).

The Nokia 1616 ix sim free from what I can tell.

(Think e2save (Worst customer service in the world - don't use a Halifax card to order from them) Nokia 100 at £4.95 + £10 topup (Will come unlocked as well) is a better voice phone.

Ubuntu Linux shop reveals 'TV for human beings'

Unless it has nzb support (and a proper vpn to ubuntu one to beat isp traffic shaping) I cannot imagine it would be worth having.

Perhaps they have something really imaginative but this is ubuntu so I doubt it. (No Ad's is essential for me to even consider it).

I would say Android has a useless collection of software for tablets never mind free and non adware good educational software for tablets.

One device

What people want is pure Android with a choice of hardware specs.

Fortunately this might do something to help the situation and stop manufacturers from breaking and slowing down everything.

OSX is junk

Any OS without focus follows mouse is not worth having. (3rd party apps are not acceptable because they are likely to be broken totally on a whim by Apple).

(Registry hack on Windows 7 works great / Pretty easy on most *nix & clones (Just don't use gnome3 or unity).

Android Market tops 400,000 apps, climbing fast

I hate the Android Market.

Tapatalk is about the only genuinely useful paid app that is worth having. (I got it from getjar if I could buy it from Amazon UK I would).

I don't really like the idea of Google with its non existent customer service having my card details attached to my phone.

I would prefer to have a phone with less apps (Only FOSS or really high quality commercial apps).

I paid $129 for my Xserver don't mind paying for stuff if its none trivial and significantly better than the FOSS alternative but I hate adware (Never buy an app that had anything to do with adware).

Wrong Target

You act as if the thieves are the worst part. The heavy jail sentences should go to the scrap dealers. People doing this sort of thing are generally addicts and nothing will deter them. Heavy sentencing for people making the profit would work allot better. (If there is no where to sell it then the addicts won't bother - the possibility of jail for wilfully doing this would work as its more likely that the scrap dealer's will act in a more reasoned manner (Jail sentence for a family man just making bit extra money on the side is much more likely to improve the end results - you cannot reason with an addict.)

FDroid

FDroid market has non adware non junk Android apps. (Thats the exception to the rule). Very little of the mediocre stuff (And adware is prohibited).
