Re: Google maps navigation
Yes, you can cache maps in Google Maps, but searching for an address or calculating a route still requires an online connection to Googles server.
Google maps navigation
Google maps & navigation on a smart phone is not a good alternative for a dedicated GPS device. The biggest problem with Google maps is that it requires internet access. Without access, maps & navigation don't work. And that is a big problem when you're traveling abroad and paying for data roaming.
Also, the Mio is much better in handling complicated intersections.
No anaglyph please
These images are for red & green glasses. Can't Nasa release these pictures in a format that can be displayed on a 3D TV in real colors?
I wouldn't surprise me if they sell it, and then lease it back. A common way to get some easy money, but it's a shortsighted trick that costs money in the long term.
Re: Imagine that
The xbox keeps a local copy of the cloud stored savefiles, so in theory you can play but you won't be able to synch with the cloud storage, it's just that MS doesn't allow it.
Very inconvenient, when Live is down, you also can't play your saved games that are in the cloud storage.
no bluraydrive
Such a gorgeous screen, but no built-in bluray drive??? How are you supposed to play back high quality video movies? Streamed HD movies are compressed so much, they're hardly better than DVD quality.
Funny how an article for *new* PCs has screenshots that look like they're made on Windows 2000.
My suggestion for the list:
xnview, for image viewing and adjustments
poor resolutions
The topmodel has a bluray drive, but no 1080p screen? Major fail.
Why don't they use 1920x1200 screens anymore?
The death penalty is not a deterrent. It's to protect society from people who are too dangerous to let roam free. And the death penalty is a 100% certain method to prevent recidivism.
Re: Why doesn't Apple let some of its designers go on a sabbatical?
If you let Apple design a camera you'll end up with a one button Point&Shoot camera with rounded corners.
When I open my Galaxy S II, the layout and orientation of the lens & flash, SIM card and microSD card is very different from that picture. Are you sure that's a GS II?
