The adverts proclaim, “the GTi is back”. Of course, VW would argue it never went away,
Until you showed them a picture of a Mark IV Golf "GTi" and then they would go and cry into their bratwurst.....

"You'd need a personal radar in order for it to be useful!"
Of course, but a personal radar would be quite cheap and easy to make (lots of cars have proximity sensors and the like that would do fine).
It needs to be a short ranged system (detect incoming fire at a few metres) so as not to send out too great a sensor signature for enemy units to detect hence a quick rection by the armour is needed but other than than I see no particular technical difficulty in making such a system.
I think it will be an excellent test of their level of conviction - it's fine to boycott a particular company's product when there are a great many easily available alternatives that are just as good but how will the poor impressionable freshers decide between trendy boycotting of baby milk producers and using their shiny new smartphone (or will they defect to iOS (there goes my student loan), WinPho (even less cool points, surely MS are satan spawn) or Blackberry (choice of the Chav)) ?
I would be OK with this kind of targeted overlay advertising if it meant that either there were no breaks in the programming for actual advertising and / or it subsidised or paid the entire cost of my TV subscription.
Obviously I will also be looking to buy a stout umbrella when this comes true on account of the pig shit falling out of the sky from the flocks (herds ?) of flying pigs....

I have downloaded the new YouTube app onto my Lumia 710 running WP 7.8 and it completely fails to play any videos at all.
On the good side, though, xHamster's mobile site does not use YouTube to host any of it's streaming content, so none of my mobile video streaming activiy is affected......
I wouldimagine it would have been in small coins, AU$75,000 is only about 50 krugerands (or other gold coins, mostly about the same value) - it would fit in one of those plastic change bags you get from the bank - which raises the question of why she didn't just hide it under floorboards instead.....
When it comes right down to it, for considerably less effort than this guy has put into making his printed plastic gun it is perfectly possible to build an equally viable weapon from B&Q stuff - get some reasoneable thickness metal pipe for the barrel, wrap it in more pipe of a slighly larger size (repeat as required for strength), the rest is just woodwork and simple mechanics.
There's nothing particularly hard, challenging or secret about gun design or manufacture.
For the price of a 3D printer you can buy a second hand lathe off eBay and make a proper gun......
Getting hold of the ammunition is the harder part (especially any kind of good propellant in reasoneable quantity).
