Yup, using the PittPatt facial detection & recognition tech they purchased in 2011, the exact same tech they use in Android for face detection & recognition.
In the version of PittPatt I used prior to the Google buy out it seemed to detect cats faces (relatively flat) but not dogs, which i assume is because of the snout!
Why did I check that? Who wouldn't!?
Still seems to have issues picking out faces where there aren't any, though how many times do humans see "faces" in shapes, wallpaper, clouds etc.
Only a matter of time
A "no-brainer" for Google, it was only a matter of time.
Great for recording rebuilds and the like, particularly in the case of natural disaster.
Also good to see our tour of HMS Ocelot getting another mention. You can read more about how we did that and see our tour of the last remaining WW2 British Navy Destroyer HMS Cavalier at http://cinsidemedia.com/hmscavalier
Also the fix is still poor
You don't even require multiple accounts to do this, as Tinder returned the current distance away from the person you were viewing.
It's a simple matter to spoof your location. This also means that the fix is also poor enough that this method still works.
Instead of working trilaterally with fake accounts, simply spoof your location a few hundred times, equidistant at the distance returned from your original location.
Iterate...progressively narrowing your search and you can still get a high resolution location of the target.
Problematically, it simple to do this until you get a distance rounding down to 0.
Ie location to less than half a mile.
They should just send the current city and rate limit the api.....
Not exactly rocket science...
...though it does require average Joe to understand rudimentary math.
And to think the scumbag grunts at school told me trig was a waste of time!
The same issue crops up on multiple dating and social networking sites which use location.
Add firebug to you favorite foxy browser and check those xhr requests. ;)
WTF does he have any games console?
How is that justice?
You can learn code a website in an hour?
Well, I'll just quit web design then. Obviously she has the wherewithal to take on all my clients.

Re: I've toured the USS Drum
Cramped with just the camera gear and 3 people, but did get a little claustrophobic when the group of 20 on a tour came through.
I can't begin to imagine what that would be like with a full crew compliment of 84 :/
Highly recommended, there's no substitute for actually going on board, though she's more cramped than she looks on the tour, also ladies not a good visit to make in a skirt!
Lol, you may joke but we did ask!
No-one spotted the Mini RC Sub from The World is not Enough yet? ;P
Agreed, the same can be said of 3rd party apps storing access tokens in plain text plists
Re: Only works on iOS jailbroken devices.
Incorrect, perhaps the article here is not as clear as it should be, the data can be accessed whether jailbroken or not.
It's just easier to get to that data if your are
Re: Misleading title
Devices don't have to be jailbroken to get to the data.
Encrypting backup goes without saying!

Great! Can pay online again...but card blocked by retailer
So HSBC will process the payment now, but because card was declined > 3 times earlier, payments with my card have been blocked for 24 hours by the retailer!
I was said reader
No online payments working including verified by visa. HSBC customer service confirmed
Well Apple would have swopped, but as purchased through work (edu) I have to try and get our supplier to do the swop.
On the plus side I did get some itunes vouchers as an apology for the wasted time following up with Apple.
Impressed with the customer service non the less
Only just bought the now older model beginning of this month.
Wonder if they'll do a swop?
