Police deny Notting Hill Carnival face recog tech led to wrongful arrest

Eh?

Targeting a festival of black culture while not using the same technology at all other festivals such as Glastonbury is wrong.

I thought is was first used at the Download Festival?

WTF?

Re: Backdoors prevail

The whole protest was disgusting. The protesters came unprepared. no porta-potties, no garbage bags. They left the land absolutely filthy with human waste and garbage.

The first significant oil leak will make that pale to insignificance.

Directions: North South East and West

Michael Rosen & Laura Wright discover how different ways of talking about directions in other languages show differences in ways of thinking. Professor Lera Boroditsky explains how in some languages, you might be asked to move your chair a bit to the north, or to put the socks in the east drawer... And the past may be conceived of as in front of you, rather than behind. How do the languages we speak shape the ways we think?

Once you have a search result, google allows you to filter results to the 'Past hour' or 'Past 24 hours'.

Or use the advanced search.

These do not make you a fanbois or a 'religious nutjob'. What would IMO, would be to proselytise that others should copy you and that other devices or religions are somehow wrong.

I still use daily an old Sony Digicube radio which has an excellent FM receiver in it, seemingly better than far more expensive radios that I also have. I've also enjoyed their TVs over the years.

Now however, for the reasons you and others above give, I would hesitate to buy Sony gear.

Re: Thumbs Down Crowd

By the time I read the articles the important points have usually been made and usually with more knowledge than I have. I also generally read when at work and so don't normally have time to compose a reasoned reply.

Had a reply been posted that expressed what I have in this post, I would have simply upvoted that. I'm happy to not spend time adding another useless "Me too" type comment, but to simply up or down vote existing messages.
