My launch console PS3 cost me £425, it's still working great to this day (5 1/2 years later), and has given me 5 1/2 years of awesome and free online gaming. It's bang upto date, supporting the latest standards like 3D, Blu-Ray etc.
I wish more kit as as future-proof as the PS3 is, rather than the shoddy "rush it out for Xmas, worry about the problems later" approach that Microsoft took. I'm guessing almost no launch-day Xbox consoles are still working, and most people will have rebought Xbox slims. Once you add on the hundreds of pounds they will have also wasted in Xbox Live fees, clearly these people are the idiots that fail to understand the term "TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP".
Surely innovation is the last company that needs to replace their console.
As it meant their last one was more future-proof that everyone else's
First to market does not mean innovation, it means they are rushing to mean a deadline (Xmas, or competitors launch date)

It's more like a 55%. A very average phone, with a less than stellar OS..

Clearly you have some problems understanding.
Sales and quality (or even usefulness) have no correlation at all (sorry for the long words, ask a grown up).
The biggest selling car of all time is the Toyota Corolla, but was it any good? no..
Almost all the Kinects were sold as pre-orders and soon after release, before consumers even got a chance to find out how shit the games were, or how laggy and inaccurate the detection was.
Using a measure of shipments (which is not the same as sales) is not a measure of customer satisfaction of an item.
If you want a measure of that, have a look at the trade-in section of your local game/gamestation... That is the true picture, they have shedloads of them at very low prices, telling you that whilst it might have sold lots on the hype and spin from Microsoft, it certainly hasn't delivered on it's promises.

Asus Transformer has been shipment constrained all year. They have been unable to make enough to sell. There is almost none in the retail chain.

You can get VLingo for Android too, and it's just as good, so there is really no reason for anyone to buy an iPhone 4s for Siri, when you can get the same (and in some ways more) with VLingo..
It's ad-supported on Android, but there is a cheap ad-free version well worth paying for (a couple of quid).

You betcha. I have a Sony PRS-650 and won't be updating (it offers me nothing, as it uses the same 6in e-ink Perl and touchscreen, just no Wifi).
However for new to e-book consumers, this beats the Amazon hands down. It supports EPUB, which means you aren't locked into any proprietary stores like the Kindle, does everything the Kindle does, and even reads the Kindle format (MOBI), so you can un-DRM your kindle books and read them on here.
What I don't get, is it scored the same as the new Kindle, despite being better in that it's not locked to a single content supplier. Surely that deserves another 5% In my world it does...

Just like smartphones, before you know it, Android will have 50% of the tablet market, and then 75% of it.
Nobody wants a locked in ecosystem where content and apps you buy only work on Apple products. Consumers are waking up that buying Android not only means a much wider market (from £99 supermarket budget tablets to £400 luxury high end ones), it also means any investment in apps will always remain yours, you can use them on ALL your Android devices not just now, but in the future too.
"Buy once, use forever", rather than Apple's "Buy once, hand back at the gate when you want to defect" approach.

Bluetooth Audio Profile != Bluetooth File Transfer
Until Apple sell their own locked down Bluetooth headsets that only work with Apple products, they will clearly support the open Bluetooth audio profile.
It was Bluetooth file transfers that only work iPhone to iPhone, and I think it was a 3GS, but I believe iPhone4 is also broken, and I would bet money that the 4s is the same, as it's clearly in Apple's interest to continue to lock people in.

As always, you can't rush quality. Look at the mess Microsoft made with Xbox by rushing crap out the door...
From my understanding, the Vita and PS3 share the same SDK and tools, and it's very simply to port games between the two.
I also heard from a developer on the inside, of some really cool interoperability between PS3 and Vita, like continuing games on the move via cloud game saves, dual format releases (PS3 and Vita version). The location based gaming stuff also looks REALLY good...

That it's locked to iTunes, has proprietary connectors for everything, Locked to Apples cloud storage, unable to run other web browsers due to Apple restrictions, unable to run a file manager and copy files of YOUR choosing, unable to buy ebooks without Apple getting their 30% cut.......

Of course it's overpriced, there are better high end Android phones for half the money (Xperia Arc S, Galaxy SII, HTC Sensation to name a few), and the only "new" thing is Siri, which everyone can already get for Android, iOS and surprisingly even Windows Mobile (i'm sure the10 people stupid enough to buy one will be chuffed). It's called VLingo and does the same thing..
Epic Failure for all he idiots that slept out to be first in line to buy a phone that's already playing second fiddle to better and cheaper high end Android handsets.

Opera Mobile
You know that Opera Mobile exists right? it's a proper browser and using the same Presto core as the desktop OS.
It also blows Firefox (and the native Android browser) out the water in terms of performance and HTML5 support.
Where have Sony been?
They have been making great products as usual...
I think the problem is, you have been mislead by certain fractions of the internet that have an agenda to try and sell their sub-par crap by disruptive marketing tricks.... (not mentioning any names Microsoft.....)
