Ermm no it's not...
" It’s hard to believe that it has taken Adobe so long to release a PDF reader for iDevices, especially since the Android version has been available for more than a year now."
It's Apple, so it's not unsurprising at all.
Nintendo can say what they like, but the proof is in the pudding. The Wii is full of shovelware casual titles. Any hardcore budget gamer will have sensibly paid half the price and bought a PS2 instead with better games.
To point out the obvious...
"Two weeks ago the Norwegian web company updated its Mobile and Mini versions just for Android, but now it has brought those updates to other platforms"
No Opera updated their versions for all platforms weeks ago. Apple have been mulling over whether to pull the plug or not on it for the last two weeks...
Still I like what you did there, pretend it was an Opera delay, not an Apple one...
My launch console PS3 cost me £425, it's still working great to this day (5 1/2 years later), and has given me 5 1/2 years of awesome and free online gaming. It's bang upto date, supporting the latest standards like 3D, Blu-Ray etc.
I wish more kit as as future-proof as the PS3 is, rather than the shoddy "rush it out for Xmas, worry about the problems later" approach that Microsoft took. I'm guessing almost no launch-day Xbox consoles are still working, and most people will have rebought Xbox slims. Once you add on the hundreds of pounds they will have also wasted in Xbox Live fees, clearly these people are the idiots that fail to understand the term "TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP".
Surely innovation is the last company that needs to replace their console.
As it meant their last one was more future-proof that everyone else's
First to market does not mean innovation, it means they are rushing to mean a deadline (Xmas, or competitors launch date)
If I am going to see adverts, then I would rather they be relevant...
Did people really think they were getting loads of gigabytes of free mail storage for nothing? If they want to skim my email for keywords to show me adverts I will be blocking with Opera's AdBlock, go ahead, be my guest....
Clearly you have some problems understanding.
Sales and quality (or even usefulness) have no correlation at all (sorry for the long words, ask a grown up).
The biggest selling car of all time is the Toyota Corolla, but was it any good? no..
Almost all the Kinects were sold as pre-orders and soon after release, before consumers even got a chance to find out how shit the games were, or how laggy and inaccurate the detection was.
Using a measure of shipments (which is not the same as sales) is not a measure of customer satisfaction of an item.
If you want a measure of that, have a look at the trade-in section of your local game/gamestation... That is the true picture, they have shedloads of them at very low prices, telling you that whilst it might have sold lots on the hype and spin from Microsoft, it certainly hasn't delivered on it's promises.
"Of course, units shipped in Q3 and still sitting on shop shelves may contribute to Q4 sales"
Asus Transformer has been shipment constrained all year. They have been unable to make enough to sell. There is almost none in the retail chain.
"ASUS Eee Pad Transformer proved to be one of the most successful Android models, and ASUS could have sold more if supply was not constrained, said IDC."
At least they are trying to find uses for it outside gaming, as on the Xbox, Kinect is utter shite...
Worth pointing out..
You can get VLingo for Android too, and it's just as good, so there is really no reason for anyone to buy an iPhone 4s for Siri, when you can get the same (and in some ways more) with VLingo..
It's ad-supported on Android, but there is a cheap ad-free version well worth paying for (a couple of quid).
Loading from PC too.
You can buy books online direct from the device and it downloads direct (Kindle style), and also from the PC using AdobeDigital Editions or the Kobo Desktop software (Sony Reader Style),.
The best of both worlds.
The reader everyone has been waiting for?
You betcha. I have a Sony PRS-650 and won't be updating (it offers me nothing, as it uses the same 6in e-ink Perl and touchscreen, just no Wifi).
However for new to e-book consumers, this beats the Amazon hands down. It supports EPUB, which means you aren't locked into any proprietary stores like the Kindle, does everything the Kindle does, and even reads the Kindle format (MOBI), so you can un-DRM your kindle books and read them on here.
What I don't get, is it scored the same as the new Kindle, despite being better in that it's not locked to a single content supplier. Surely that deserves another 5% In my world it does...
Bahhhahahhaaa, don't make me laugh...
The only market left for Nokia are £20 entry levels and feature phones.
Teaming up with a no-hope OS like Windows Mobile, with a proven track record of failure is simply nuts...
"Another differentiator is the fact that Windows Phone is actually quite good"
No it's not, you have been brainwashed by the Microsoft brain-rays at work....
It's actually very poor, and thats why consumers simply aren't interested. It's iPhone or Android, the only credible smartphone OSes...
The Kindle is a really BAD purchase, thats locked into a single source of books (Amazon). Only an idiot that can't think further than tomorrow would buy one.
Better buy a Koko or a Sony, or anything that supports EPUB, you aren't tied into anyone...
I mean seriously..
Did anyone actually think the iPad2 was secure? it's hardly a business tool, it doesn't even support filesystem encryption.
My Asus Transformer supported that since the outset, and it's a standard feature in Android 4.0.
LOL, nobody is interested in WinMo, and Nokia are the laughing stock of the smartphone arena, some feature-lite smartphone trying to play the "simple" or "clean" (i.e. rubbish) card is not going to change that.
"DAB radio, might be antique and sound terrible, the culture minister said this week"
As i'm pretty sure he didn't use those words, and you are talking horse-shit.....
You need to still be on 3.55 firmware and can't play online using this hack.
So no, the console hasn't been hacked at all, infact nothing has changed since before, and the fact still remains, the piracy rate on the PS3 is the lowest of all systems, despite having the best games.
The pattern repeats
Just like smartphones, before you know it, Android will have 50% of the tablet market, and then 75% of it.
Nobody wants a locked in ecosystem where content and apps you buy only work on Apple products. Consumers are waking up that buying Android not only means a much wider market (from £99 supermarket budget tablets to £400 luxury high end ones), it also means any investment in apps will always remain yours, you can use them on ALL your Android devices not just now, but in the future too.
"Buy once, use forever", rather than Apple's "Buy once, hand back at the gate when you want to defect" approach.
Bluetooth Audio Profile != Bluetooth File Transfer
Until Apple sell their own locked down Bluetooth headsets that only work with Apple products, they will clearly support the open Bluetooth audio profile.
It was Bluetooth file transfers that only work iPhone to iPhone, and I think it was a 3GS, but I believe iPhone4 is also broken, and I would bet money that the 4s is the same, as it's clearly in Apple's interest to continue to lock people in.
If you have sacked most of your workforce, aren't making very much and not selling very much, then you won't be losing as much..
It really as as simple as that, and whilst Elop and his Microsoft cronies might by trying to spin this as a positive, Nokia are fading and fading FAST, even a Windows Phone that nobody wants will save them...
Hopefully it's better than Apples old Bluetooth support.
As nothing (Android, Nokia, SE) could send anything to an iPhone or receive anything from an iPhone over Bluetooth last time I tried. However Iphone to iPhone worked fine unsurprisingly...
Seems like Apple like to even engineer their products with intentional interoperability problems to try and force more iPhone sales..
Seeing how badly they throttle Akamai PSN download mirrors...
Best for gaming my ass....
Although to be fair, many UK ISP's do the same (and punters think it's PSN that's slow), however they don't shout from the rooftops that they are the best choice for gamers.
No problems here.
we have 2x HTC wildfires in your household, and neither have done this.
I'm guessing you are posting on behalf of Redmond, as in addition to Balmer standing on stages talking this shite, Microsoft also invest very heavily in viral marketing with shills paid to protect Microsoft brands like Windows Phone, Xbox and the other sub-par products.
Worth waiting for...
As always, you can't rush quality. Look at the mess Microsoft made with Xbox by rushing crap out the door...
From my understanding, the Vita and PS3 share the same SDK and tools, and it's very simply to port games between the two.
I also heard from a developer on the inside, of some really cool interoperability between PS3 and Vita, like continuing games on the move via cloud game saves, dual format releases (PS3 and Vita version). The location based gaming stuff also looks REALLY good...
who put this fucking idiot in charge of Microsoft?
"The biggest advantage we have over Android is that you don’t need to be a computer scientist to use a Windows Phone,”"
My 62 year old mother has no problems with her Android smartphone (a HTC wildfire) and she is not a computer scientist..
Infact, Windows Phone doesn't allow ANY customizations, unlike Android, which if you wanted, you can install something like this: http://www.biglauncher.com/
Balmer is a fucking moron.
That it's locked to iTunes, has proprietary connectors for everything, Locked to Apples cloud storage, unable to run other web browsers due to Apple restrictions, unable to run a file manager and copy files of YOUR choosing, unable to buy ebooks without Apple getting their 30% cut.......
Like you said, any other manufacturer would be crucified for this... And if it were Sony, the whole article would be a rant about proprietary formats and connectors, followed by a thread of comments about Rootkits from 10 years ago...
Sounds like you were using the Galaxy Ace or something.
The Galaxy SII is better and faster in every respect to either the iPhone4 or the 4s...
Sure you are loving the Siri gimmick (that's basically Vlingo), and you now have the Apple copy of the Android notifications, but still no widgets? Comeon.....
Of course it's overpriced, there are better high end Android phones for half the money (Xperia Arc S, Galaxy SII, HTC Sensation to name a few), and the only "new" thing is Siri, which everyone can already get for Android, iOS and surprisingly even Windows Mobile (i'm sure the10 people stupid enough to buy one will be chuffed). It's called VLingo and does the same thing..
Epic Failure for all he idiots that slept out to be first in line to buy a phone that's already playing second fiddle to better and cheaper high end Android handsets.
More like you need to Wakeup.
The iPhone4s is a catchup to the Galaxy SII (or the HTC Sensation), and it doesn't really do that too well, mosting WAY more and still being inferior.
Hell, even the Experia Arc S at half the price is better....
Claimed being the operative word of course
As we only have Apples word on this. And we know how hype works, you tell overone you sold 4m phones, and more people buy phones and before long nobody really knows (or cares anymore) if they did or didn't...
Nobody I know is even vaugely interested in the iPhone4s, but a few are waiting for the new Samsung Nexus. I hope we get minute by minute BBC news updates of the launch....
You know that Opera Mobile exists right? it's a proper browser and using the same Presto core as the desktop OS.
It also blows Firefox (and the native Android browser) out the water in terms of performance and HTML5 support.
Where have Sony been?
They have been making great products as usual...
I think the problem is, you have been mislead by certain fractions of the internet that have an agenda to try and sell their sub-par crap by disruptive marketing tricks.... (not mentioning any names Microsoft.....)
