What a complete dickhead..
except henry ford didn't say that
he said 'if i'd have asked my customers what they wanted, they would have said a faster horse.'
ie. customers can't imagine something new until you show it to them. that's why the general public were lost without something familiar - the start button.
i've got one
the £229 samsung is great for basic web, email and watching stuff. yes, the screen is average but as a cheapo laptop it's great. you are, of course, tied into googles stuff but it's better than an ipad.
thanks for bringing those great android features to ios, and making them a bit prettier...
Is is still wi-fi only?
It doesn't allow me to catch up via 3G. Surely that's my choice?
the review was going so well
until you said that you liked 'super 8'...oh dear, it was terrible. a nice idea, but poorly executed....next....
Re: I wish the Nexus 4 did have a button.
i'm thinking of getting one of these, so whats the story with the battery life?
gimp - what a joke, truly awful software trying to compete with the king. if you can't afford photoshop, then you shouldn't be allowed to use it...
bring back 'save as'
osx should be made for desktops and not incorporate tablet-like functions such as the dreadful idea of removing 'save as' from textedit..
i was a mactard
but now i've got a chromebook and i'm ditching the iphone for a nexus 4.
apple will slip in the next 2-3 years but will still be healthy. cook just doesn't have jobs' manic passion.
i have a google chromebook. it does everything that i need. it was £229.
absolutely nothing to see
just nasa trying to justify their ridiculous budget....they have proved absolutely nothing. again.
but sir, it's just a marketing stunt to get people to visit the website and talk about it for 10 minutes.....ie. shite.
move on people, we're not falling for this anymore...
ahh virgin media
dare i mention the superdud?
ok, the wireless is better now after the firmware update but it's still the worst wireless router ever....and the engineer (who had to come round to sort disconnection issues - again) told me that there is a new superdud coming out with dual antennas!
but yes, they are still shite.
i was there last year
and saw nothing except an all inclusive bar and restaurant. and french women.
i've got the samsung
and it's great - come on - it is what it is..great for surfing whilst sat in front of the telly. chrome os needs some tweaks but you get 100Gb of google space and its cheaper than a macbook air or ipad - and i'm a long time mac user but their prices are a joke.
Re: LOVE THIS
agreed - had mine 4 days and loving it - and i'm a mac user. apple simply need a better value, simpler laptop and not a bloody tablet.
once skype runs on this chromebook i'll be sorted.
it is what it is folks.
still an annoying issue..
someone sends you an email asking for your cv which you have in dropbox. you click 'reply', type some words then want to attach a non-photo file.......how?
been with them 3 months
the tivo stuff is quite good but in 3 months we've had broadband down to 1mb for 3 days (twice), a rented film stopped halfway through and reset, box reset due to slow menus and numerous network messages on screen.....oh and the telephone call charges ARE A COMPLETE RIPOFF!
other than than it's pretty good but i will look at bt at the end of my contract.
Re: Disappointing service
we were having the slow jerky menus issue. so i turned the box off and off at the back, waited the standard minute and it was much quicker when i re-started it.....
andy and rebekah sitting in a tree...h a c k i n g.............possibly.
Would love that speed...
Yeah, I'd love a fast web connection but I'm using a virgin 'super'hub over wireless...
rough pub anyway
it's just full of scratty students, beardies wearing jack daniels t-shirts and crap cocktails.
how do they get let off from using elijah woods and ian mckellen's faces then?
What the hell is this tosh?
Gatekeeper - like windows defender then.
Messages - like instant messenger then.
Gamecentre - seriously how many people use this?
10.7 looked pointless but this is even worse...
doesn't RAM hardly use any energy anyway?
so a 99% drop of not much isn't that much of a saving - just asking?
Breaking ITV News...
"Man with big, round, yellow head cruelly chased by thugs dressed as ghosts while he was trapped in a maze......bizarrely he was only trying to eat dots from the floor.....over to mary nightingale at the scene......"
it's for designers who can't be arsed with too much programming and dread the thought of becoming a developer...
why only 80%?
so, where did it lose 20% mr reviewer?
where are the clangers?
what about the compression on freeview which currently does my nut in? it looks like a dodgy jpeg.....
steve wants you to buy all of your content, including hd, from itunes.
it's got nothing to do with blu-ray licencing.....it's also why apple are phasing out flash.
it's all part of apple's walled garden approach, which is why i've had enough of them..
ok, i'll bite...
a brushed metal exterior and black keyboard does not automatically make it into a macbook......
slow news day...
mrs wong and her love of the wide face...wasn't that a terry gillian film?
he just has an opinion about crapple - that they are twats. just because you've all fallen for the shiny iphone does not make apple untouchable.
why can't we just stick to bashing apple like the good old days...any defence of apple should be banned on these forums or else i'll through my toast at the screen..
you are correct
worse thing they ever did was go to intel and allow windows on a mac, notice how their marketshare of pc's is flat, no matter what their figures suggest.
i've had 5 macs and would not touch another. the price and over-hype is now ridiculous....
sorry, it's not that amazing....
it's great cinema, just not a great film....
yeah it looks fantastic (the cleaned up re-master) but i still think it needs 3-4 minutes chopping from the last 15 minutes.
