Re: Viber

Passive aggressive much?

free nanos!
Cheap bastards
Nice el Reg app there!
well done
Long overdue
"new dialogue box during file copying that shows all the underway transfers with options to pause and resume them"
I must admit
I had a different vision of what this article was about with that title.
Maybe
Someone will invent a redback proof toilet seat now.... or auto cleaning one...
We have all been there...
And propped up our tablet or phone with a book on the windowsill so it can get a Free WiFi connection.
She just took it to another level... Ground.
Re: And another one here...
I have a box specifically for orphaned power bricks!
It's like a bank, some people deposit others pay out.
This really irks me. Page voting inline would be a huge plus. It also would stop it asking you to log in after each vote.
Re: Evidently
Unaided?.... did you miss the weather balloon, space capsule and oxygen suit?
Re: A new munt coin
Ewe cud buy a lut uf chups for theet kind of dosh bro!
Re: Why would Google remove the video?
Gangnam style is up there....

Frequent flyer
Just give Orbcomm some extra frequent flyer points...
Android Tablet Profiles
When this arrives i will buy.
what about tablets
The ITU and EU should force a standard plug and socket for tablets also!
Re: Progress
you could download a 3d printer blueprint of a car then reproduce it....
There goes their 5nines...
Wonder how many people will actually notice while drooling in anticipation at a fanboi twitter feed...
App vs Broswer
The Youtube App on my Android automatically caches followed content for viewing offline..... can you do that with HTML5?
Re: Good article, except for the fact it's not a phone.
Yet.....
Simple
Have a removable battery and MicroSD card and watch your sales go up.
Not happy!
So i go out to see the Olympic torch relay and am once again taunted by a Samsung party bus reminding me of the fact that i cannot purchase my desired phone Galaxy S3 Blue 32GB SIM Free....
10 million sales would be a lot higher if they actually had stock!
I bought in october....

Neither preferred...
~I have both and use them for different things however, the first one to allow unlimited local syncing with cloud optional will get my vote.
I don't want to pay for storing everything in the cloud, only the stuff i want.
I would like to use my various computers in various locations to retain redundancy.
Currently testing AeroFS and Cubby which look promising.
Re: What I don't get
doubletwist blows - doesnt sync ratings and dupes songs
support also is far from good
Re: What I don't get
No! The problem is vendor lock in. Google should make it rather than Samsung so then at least all the other Android phones and tablets could use it also
iTunes isn't perfect but it is a great media player
iTunes sits on my Media center PC and cranks out the beats with 1080p album art and visualisation. I can control it from iPad/iPhone/iTouch/Android Phone/Tablet. My guests can connect to the party mode with all their devices to queue songs etc.
Now i would agree that iTunes has its shortcomings but realistically there is not much else to replace it with that performs as well. Mediamonkey and a few others come close.
Until Google create an installable replacement for iTunes and not some half-arsed web based music player then I would say that there are a lot of people who will stay with iTunes. It even sync's playlists, play count and ratings with Android using the right app.
Supply chain issues
i think not...
How about while we all wait.
The networks use this time to fix the existing problems in their current networks...
It needs to be larger than 5 GB
I am up to 20GB free in Dropbox now....
posting pages to google+
When posting links to ElReg articles to google+ an image appears that has no relevance to the article. A quick X dismisses it but it would be nice to include the correct pic when posting.
example
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/04/07/windows_xp_two_years_until_support_ends/
not sure if its a Register or Google+ issue but it should be looked into.
Top articles - keep up the good work.
still looking...
for an open source and free cross platform sync tool that does not use the cloud.
Any recommendations?
i.e. dropbox but without or limited cloud sync.
i might have considered this over the S3 however....
- No removable battery
- No MicroSD card support
Well Apple...
How do you like them apples?!
Re: Probably look-alikes
Even with pictures its difficult to tell according to recent patent suits about rounded corners.
Re: Disappointing
Its all about choice in the end. Cross platform availability and account synchronization are possibly two reasons that could explain its rise. Also the billboard advertising that has been popping up all over the place. Chrome isn't spyware as it quite clearly explains that it is going to install, whether combined in another applications package or not. If a user never reads a dialog box before clicking OK or Next then installers are hardly to blame. Frankly I actually like the segregation IE for work and Firefox/Chrome for everything else.
Re: RE; weekday ie use is often not a choice
Interested now?

Re: Chrome on Home PCs
You always get asked if you want to install it, like that stupid Bing Bar. Yes its default ticked on when the install for java etc runs but hey... you can always uninstall it.
Re: sometimes it's just weird
<Roy> [picking up the phone] Hello, IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again?</Roy>
Re: hmmmmm
Well Jodo Kast, people often research using the interwebs and then cite said internet articles
http://www.liutilities.com/how-to/cite-internet-article/
When you look at something that you believe isn't quite right you get thinking and poke around until you can find an explanation.. i.e. CGI, thin fishing line from a crane etc..
I would have hoped that a journalist writing an article would have performed even the most basic critical thinking and investigation.... I guess I thought more of El Reg...
hmmmmm
Does research happen before articles are written?

But, Would you...
have to be online all the time to use the apps?
the key here is
that the tablet was build to Indian Specs.... don't blame Data Wind if its slow.
BES has own encryption key
Isn't BES Express free? does this not have a secure encryption key also?
