Yep, 2000 or so of them.
Won't be buying a Mac any time soon.
This is precisely why I haven't bought any Ubisoft games for years. They don't deserve customers the way they constantly pull these ridiculous stunts.
Re: Metro was designed by experts
Crap, you had me there. I down voted and then realised I was an idiot. Well played sir, well played.
Hmm, running an HD2 with absolutely no issues. Tried an HTC Mozart with phone 7 and decided it was a steaming pile of ass.
I've been telling people this for years to general ridicule but I knew I was right and secure in that knowledge I'm now off down the pub to try some more life saving nectar. It's great being right for a change.
Bugger, I knew there had to be some sort of issue for the development to be so stilted. Oh well, back to the atom it is although having lived and also having family in Cumbria I can definitely say they need to be a lot more cautious about leaks here and there.
Not a mention of wave power and I don't know too much about it myself so I can't be specific. Unlike biomass and wind power though, it seems from this layman's perspective that it's pretty reliable and doesn't apparently cost an arm, a leg and your firstborn. You know, the tide comes in and then lo and behold it goes out again only to return later.
Surely that's a good thing and could be harnessed quite successfully.
There are also rivers for small water turbine power that's more or less free. The water flows one way mostly unless physics is completely messed up so that seems like a local alternative to take some of the strain. I do know that the greenies stated that we couldn't possibly have small local water based power because that would be a blight on the landscape.
I could be talking through my nether regions about the above so I'm quite happy to be educated in the finer aspects by those in the know.
Does America today remind anyone of Germany 1938? Just askin'
It's always a total gob smacker when one is reappraised of the sheer size of the universe. 13.1 billion light years, bloody hell.
Looks like a sophisticated version of the old Jetex engines I used you use as a kid for model aircraft. Cool stuff.
What worries me is, are we old fashioned mouse and keyboard desktop users going to be force fed the Metro type interface which I don't think looks too good on a full sized 24" monitor?
In fact I didn't like it on the HTC Mozart mobile so I dumped it but that's another story.
Really great article from an era I remember very fondly. Shows how slow IBM were to understand the retail market against the corporate one.
This ranks as one of my favourite comments ever.
Conspiracy theories are cool and all but I'm wondering who in the systems side of things decided it was a good idea to gloss over the testing of that new patch that would make life oh so much better and easier.
When is the Pope going to make Steve a bona fida saint?
I bet that bt of kit will never be used without going through the proper channels Guvn'r.
This one will will live in the annals of internet history for a good while. Just how many red faces and face palm gestures were happoening at vulture central I can only imagine.
This will definitely keep me grinning for a day or two.
Now to keep my eyes open for the practical joke from one wise assed Register reader with a Penchant for evil fun.
I don't want to sound pedantic and I don't usually resort to swearing but, If they're going to ignore the feedback, why the fuck ask in the first place?
I really cannot add anything to the discussion because all the things I loath about the ribbon interface have already been said and in a much more erudite fashion.
I would just like to say that this means I'll probably have to stick with Windows 7 for the same amount of time I had to stick with Windows XP while Microsoft battles with the misfortunes of foisting yet another OS disaster on the public.
Will they ever learn?
The Angry Ones
I feel the funniest aspect was the angry IE users that were preparing to sue. I wonder if they feel dumb as a bag of spanners.
Have to agree with the first comment. The game sucks big time. They have made the characters look like second rate B-movie movie horror parodies and any sense of subtlety in the story, in fact any kind of story at all has flown out the window. The real downer, I paid 30 quid for it.
