Damned Immigrunt bees.. Coming in here and ruining our jerbs !
I'm (Now) a 55 year old trucker. When you get to the age of 45 you have to go or a FULL medical to make sure you're not going to die at the wheel (or less likely anyway).
I received my "Section 88" at the beginning of March. My Licence expired the day before my 55th birthday (DOB 20th April) so I quickly had my medical and sent it all off.
3 weeks later the replacement still hadn’t arrived so I did the online check and it showed my LGV had expired.
So I phoned them up and was made to feel like a naughty schoolboy for asking about it.
Basically they said "You've got nothing medical wrong with you so you're ok to drive" But that won't wash when you're stopped by DVSA at 02:15 on a rainy monday morning and they check online and... Your licence has expired !
They impound the wagon !! So our company wouldn't let me out on the road. Miraculously the shunter had a load bar fall on him and was off for a fortnight so I covered in the yard for him.
The licence still hadn't arrived or the online version updated two weeks afterwards and the shunter was due back. I had to get them to Fax our company a "Section 88" cover note for me.
I got my shiny licence back last week with my nice UK flag on it !!
I really don't hold any faith in the licence being digital !!
Flash will "go away" only when the FB games no longer use it.
Why the heck would anyone willingly want to infect/contaminate perfectly good hardware with Microsoft software ?
Defies comprehension in every single way !
Although I can move individual frames I still can't zoom in closer than 8 seconds on the timeline.
The Track size is also miniscule on a 4k monitor
But it's coming along nicely
Never had a problem here in Peterborough. I was online all day & night (using the rest of last years hols up). I have changed BT's HH to a Netgear jobbie though (cost me about £160)
Not on my system it aint
GTX970, 16gb ram ,iiyama 28" 4k monitor
As for learning curve... I remember trying to learn on Art Dep pro, then Image FX (morphing) and Photogenics. (Bit of True Brilliance thrown in there too)
The difference was that it was fun and exciting doing that stuff back then.
Dude. ALL NLE's Crash.
I used MediaStudioPro and Premiere (with a bit of MainActor) from about 1997 to 2007.
Heck, even my Genlocked & siamesed A1200 (with 060) & running infochannel would crash.
They #ALL crash. Just give it long enough !!
Indeed Openshot is quite capable. I edited my nieces wedding in it
Yes the intro music is wrong and it WAS precisely what you expected it to be with that intro. Google muted the entire thing so I chose that licence free from their list just for something. Obviously the dvd they got is ok.
No I don't expect anyone to watch more than 2 mins of that !!
Openshot suffers from HORRIFIC timeline redraw delays when using MTS files and you really have to be careful lining up the cuts/Transitions. Kdenlive is superior in this sense because you can use proxy clips.
Both crash if you give it long enough (as does ANY NLE) so ..Save, Save, Save as you go.
I installed Lightworks when it was beta but it has one heck of a learning curve and then you find out that to actually render out to something you can use requires plenty deneros to cross palms
/Tinfoil Hat time
Makes you wonder if the former ousted CEO of VW didn't drop a sneaky heads up to the relevant testing authority ?
Ukippers are NOT anti Europeans. (Is that geographically possible ?)
We are anti- EU. <----- No it's NOT the same thing.
Just Yet !!
Bit late to the party but here's a face off of the search engines I did.
"In the end the Amiga directed me into my career as my first proper job was for an early UK ISP and eventually to the present where I own my own hosting company. I owe it all to you Amiga truly."
Your comment makes you sound suspiciously like an awesome guy I know from Lowestoft who was a major help with our Amiga "Big Bash" shows !
I know little about the 500 but how can a 1.2 Litre (1200cc) be a 900cc ?
iirc it has the second longest runway in the UK which is no longer being used and it has excellent road links to get to it.
And it whooshes over John Majors house which is a flange benefit !!
Stunning. Although when I watched it I didn't realise the missus had turned the sound down on the player.
I was marrying up the images to Human Leagues - "Gordons Gin" !!
They'll only slow ya down !
Seeing Speedball 2 on my mates A500 was what made me buy one.
Brilliant game. The humourous audio snippets were the icing on the cake.
My daughters loved Tiny Troops mainly for the....
"Aaaaaaaarmageddon & Run Awaaaaaay" sound snippets !
He's trying to buy his way out of his one way ticket to hell
Clue: Diablo doesn't care about money !
No Sharp Elsimate ?
I went to school just south of Perth WA in the 70's and this was the "Must-Have".
Pretty wierd considering I couldn't afford one and even if I could no-one was allowed to use them anyway !
Now where could we send all those peado's & murderers etc that's out of the way and they won't be coming back, Well. Not for a long time anyway. ?
Don't knock it as it's worked a couple of times before and now one of those colonies is the most powerful nation on the planet and the other is a really nice place !!
Mark me down for a sub
In the words of the late Ian Dury..
"There ain arf been some clever barstewards - Lucky Bleeders"
Siff upper lip chaps (& Chapessess)
btw.. Centre of gravity appears waaaay too high.
I'm getting pissed off with artistes who release their cds in oversized sleeves.
Just bought Arctic Monkeys AM and it doesn't fit in the rack (neither does "Panic of Girls" etc) so instead of being proudly displayed in the rack they get lost in the cupboard
It might be Big but it aint Clever !
If they can make them this Cool I'm all for it (at a sensible price for us paupers !!)
Thread that's taken from.... http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=1042959&highlight=electric+vehicle

Yes you'll probably have to join the forum to view the thread. Not much I can do about that other than to say they are kewl projects.
Oh.. And they sound great too.
Wot No Amiga A3000T & 4000T ?
Even the A1000 was a sexy bit of kit
I didn't bother reading all the comments to apologies if it has been said..
Asus wanted to release a small form factor laptop with limited RAM & SSD. Asus wanted XP on it but Microsoft wanted to kill XP and was pushing Vista. Vista was too pricey and bloated.
So Asus threatened to ship them with Linux installed. Messers Ballmer and co laughed and said "go ahead, it'll flop".
Asus sold EVERY SINGLE One. Returns were on a par with any windows offering. It was a runaway success.
Microsoft had to back peddle before Linux got traction with the public. So they extended the life of XP and gave Asus the deal it had wanted originally.
Now a campaign of disinformation was started.
Why would you want a tiny 8mb SSD when for the same price you can have a 130gb ? In other words, the usual Ms tactic of newer, faster, bigger (more expensive)
This of course completely defeated the whole concept of the Netbook being a cheap but robust (no spinning HD) computing device.
Asus were no fools either. They deliberately chose Xandros instead of any major distro so as to not completely alienate MS.
Yup, Microsoft wanted this little upstart dead. Looks like they finally won.
Much kudos for the Awesome Yammie DX7 alone.
What was the topic ? Sorry, got sidetracked.
The Mayans ARE still around
Methinks they'll party hard this year having rickrolled the entire planet !!
Indeed. Not a single mention of Joe Pillow or how his arrival @ CES convinced Apple execs their days in the computer industry were (severely) numbered.
Mags I bought regulary (EVERY month)
1: Amiga Format but moved to Amiga Shopper when released
2: Amiga User International
3: CU Amiga
5: Computer Shopper <--- Once in a blue moon
None: But peruse online Linux stuff
Anyone rememeber Casablanca NLV ?
I bet ED have/had some patents prior to Tivo's.
Surely you're only a customer if you paid for the product ?
Try formatting a USB stick (don't use the cli). I just want to know if anyone else goes through the palaver I went through to do that simple task.
It was right click icon and select format.. Bingo, Job done. (Not anymore)
Oh and I discovered where the reboot option is....
Select Logout, then click on the power button (top right of screen) then select Shutdown.. THEN you get a choice of reboot, Shutdown or Cancel !
I am slowly beginning to fettle 11:10 to something I may be able to put up with but why go around the block just to cross the street ?
I upgraded last night and was surprised that it completed the upgrade without glitches. So.. on reboot I was expecting Unity and that's what I got. I've been using Gnome 2 "Classic" mode but as this is the "chosen path" I figured I might as well give it a fair suck of the sauce bottle.
So, after reboot what did I find ?
No graphic drivers activated. Not a biggy but on activation.... Where's the restart option in the cog (me menu ?) .. Seriously, there's only Shutdown.
Next... I nipped round corner T'shop for some Doritos and when I got back I discovered the screen locked, s'funny, I had that set to 45 mins. Oh well... I'll have to reset it again... except.... Where is it ? It was in screensavers but that's gone... I used that "Dash" effort to search... I clicked around clicking on likely candidates.. Nope.. I give in ... Give me a clue !!
I'll give this a month and if still not happy I'm gonna change over to Peppermint.
The so government rips off our pension funds and wants us to give them more. At least Maxwell had the decency to top himself.
I was made aware of the new pension crap last year, I'm 50 years old so I'll be opting out <-- They'd probably want a grand a month from me !!
I live in Peterborough.. Local news here..
Ok.. So instead of becoming fish food it gets to become (several) burgers.
So make roads like Scalextric tracks. That'll make sure the buggers are in the correct lane at the correct time and if they aint then they'll wait for the appropriate correction point !!
Or... Use that electric toothbrush charging idea. iirc Tesla ( Nikolai) discovered a way to send a charge over the airways.
Where's the electric shock icon ? Ok I'll use Paris instead as she probably uses something rechargable !!
I wish I could get MSP to work in WINE or be able to buy a native Linux version. It's what I "grew up with" and am comfortable using. Either that or Main Actor !!
Is... we are having.. what is it ?... 2.1 kids instead of the 6 or 7 of yesteryear. Which is the same problem as the Pensions fund. (Apart from it being ripped off). ie: inverted pyramid. Except with driving.. Within the next 5 years a hefty chunk of those OAP's will be coming OFF the roads. Along with New Tech this will result in a serious drop in (Road) revenue. So the Bullshit Campaign starts picking up momentum.
I bet he never sells a dodgy motor again
Ext4 by default
... and thought it was hilarious
I just wish they'd hurry up and release the damn things.
Well they wanna bloody well hurry up and make the ARM Netbooks available. I've had £300 burning a hole in my wallet for the past 3 weeks. I've been waiting to see whats announced at CES. Well thats been & gone.
Where are the ARM Netbooks ?
I feel that stores should be forced to sell computers os free.
In the box could be 3 discs with images of various os's. 1 of them could be a trial version of Windows.
Argue amongst yourselves which distro's should be chosen.
Sounds like it'll soon be time to buy a diesel Genny
