When Will This Pollution Madness Stop!!!!

All this obsolescence game plan (in this particular case) is generating so much money for Microsoft and it's shareholders, maybe it is time to get these greedy polluters to foot the landfill clean up costs! Millions of servers, not to mention all the associated peripherals, all need to be buried somewhere.

You (Microsoft) cause the all the mess, you pay to clear it up.

Who needs all this constant replacement of equipment anyway? Those that care less about our planet or the future generations that will try to live on it, I suspect.

End of rant.

Scientists capture DEATH STAR in VIOLENT EXPLOSION

Palebushman

Splendid!!

Now we can watch, in real-time, other planets that have discovered 'Nuclear Energy', blowing themselves to pieces. Wonder if other planets will see this happening to Earth any time soon?

Come, come now Terry!

99.9% of El Reg readers are not silly, and it's so rude to even suggest such a thing!!

Re: Sounds heavy

Morzel dear fellow, there are no 'Grizzly' or any kind of bears roaming the vast wilderness of Oz.

Before anyone comes back with 'How about the Koala'?

That little chap is relatively small and is not a member of the 'Bear' species anyway;-)

Win XP alive and kicking despite 2014 kill switch (Don't ask about Win 8)

Palebushman
Alien

"We have NO intension of replacing XP"

Well said RobHib.

Despite all the humbug being put out by MS and it's band of forced fed marketeers, XP operators will be around for along time after 2014. Unless of course Ballmer realises how popular XP is, and then give it a new lease of life with a SP4 release!

Not too sure how many versions there are of the 'Leo' species, but how clever Apple have been to retain the 'OSX' OS, just by giving the old cat different names to it's service packs.

BRILLIANT!! Now that's what I call good marketing AND looking after your customers.

"A couple of months ago, we asked Australian Regreaders"

Well I get my newsletter from Vulture HQ every day! But I don't recall being asked this particular question.

Not that I could be easily be seduced by anything 'Fruity' anyway,

but we Aussies are pretty much unique in more ways than one:-)

How about VULTUREROOS creators of awesome IT since IT began.

"The ancient Martians totally destroyed the environment and created these Noahcide clays by Nuclear war?"

Yup, the few 'filthy rich' jumped into their space 'Noah's Ark' type vehicle, pressed the 'Fire' button and watched the destruction while heading off to planet Earth. Where....................... Zillions of years later, the whole scenario is starting up again, but this time in reverse. When Will They Ever Learn?

"Of course had the alleged thief turned off the iPad, removed its SIM, put it into flight mode or given it a factory reset none of this would have happened."

Well done that editor!

Publishing advice like that is what keeps 'miscreants' one step ahead, doesn't it?

Watch out, PC disk drive floggers: Cloud will rust up those spinners

Palebushman

Cloud is "Rock Solid"

Don't like the sound of that, golf ball sized hail falls out of clouds doesn't IT?

Seriously, as long as ISP's have control of your connectivity and bandwidth, 'Cloud' storage will never be a reliable or viable option.

Give me HDD's any time, even if they do rarely crash, at least you can still salvage your data from them, albeit for a one-off cost.

Bollocks!

"Bollocks!"

How delightful, such an exquisite and colourful term of phrase AC, but alas there is not a lot one can do.

Fraud, corruption, racketeering, price-fixing and anything else, that makes us Aussie folk suffer, is down

right obscene! But what can be done with the culprits?

Shoot them = Loose your freedom. Vote for them = Loose direction. Complain = Become a target.

BUGGA!! Where's my slpiff-n-VB?

We humans can clearly see now, the results of what the other planet indigenous creatures did to theirs.

No doubt these worms may well be the creatures, that get to see what us humans are heading to do with Earth!

Mum Nature is not amused by "intelligent" human activity thus far.............. Nuff said.
