WTF?

Re: Um... did we forget there was a DOS port then?

585MB!??

thecresta

It's all fun and games...

...until someone loses an eye.

"Limitations? There's the much publicised lack of NFC, but even the iPhone 5 naysayers have to admit there's very little need for it now, certainly as a payment mechanism. Next year, when the iPhone 5S comes out, maybe; but not now."

How about if you don't want to buy a new iPhone? Especially not half way through a 24 month contract?

I use NFC all the time, not just for payments. Just because it hasn't fully taken off doesn't mean it isn't used!

Ubisoft: make all of your games free-to-play...

...and I can guarantee I'll never send another penny your way.

But carry on justifying being a bunch of arseholes whichever way you like.

Re: So.... pebble watch was not a totally new idea?

Smart watches have been around for a while now. The E-Paper watch isn't even Pebble Techonology's first attempt (getinpulse.com).

Holy crap!

They've hired a giant Chris de Burgh to protect their booty!

@ "Good riddance"

At a time when unemployment is at an all-time low, and the global economy is showing no immediate signs of recovery, we should be putting our petty annoyances behind us and showing our support for those who are going to be out of work.

I couldn't care less about Game, they screwed up and we all know it, but I do care for the majority of the 10,000 ex-employees who are suddenly going to be signing up for jobseeker's allowance....

thecresta

Pfft, old news.

I'm surprised to see this is classed as 'news' - the event happened ages ago!

"...and promises free calls next time its service goes titsup."

Well at least we know there WILL be a next time.

Get those premium rate numbers in your address book in readiness!

thecresta

So it's also a hand warmer?

They should put that on the product spec sheet. Honestly - this is a good thing, so long as it doesn't melt my fingerprints off and invalidate my future existence.

All I want...

It's may not be perfect, but...

I've been using this on Android for a little while now, and I've found it can be a bit of a chore to use at times.

But I don't care - I'm using Photoshop on a tablet for Pete's sake! It's one of those things I've been dreaming of since I first started using Photoshop 3!

Contre Jour, but no World of Goo?

In fact, Contre Jour appears to have quite a few 'influences'...

thecresta

What they need is their own COD or FIFA...

Nintendo are really stunted in the fact they are releasing original games featuring ageing mascots.

What they really need is the same game, every year, with a lick of paint.

Terrible to Play

So I can either use the Dpad OR the left shoulder buttons?

And the D-pad is dangerously close to the Home / Back buttons.

Mobile devices with expensive dongles precariously poking out of them. Makes me cringe just thinking about it.

No chance they'll have it finished...

...before the end of next year. They'd be better off investing that money the Arks that are currently under construction in China.

Mmm...

Does this mean the Kinect would see me as a child?

Reminds me of the 'cow' scene in Father Ted...

Time travel impossible? Absolute nonsense!

I'm travelling through time as I type this comment! Seconds are passing before my eyes!

Can't see Kinect lasting 5 years...

Both gimmicks, but at least the Wii had some impressive games that utilised the control method.

Waving your arms around will get boring (and tiring) very quickly.

thecresta

Scared to move?

You could be constantly adjusting the TV volume, and while the other half and kids are asleep upstairs that is never a good idea.

Obviously, because it'll wake them up...nothing to do with the A/V content you'd be enjoying at the time.

Neverless, it'd be funny to get a device to play a short trumpet sound and a laughter track every time your face hits a surface, eg: when you trip over the cat and smack your head off the table.

All this 15 levels and bunny ears?

Gaming event of the month!

The Silver Locusts

I loved watching this on TV as a child, it instilled a fear in me that, until then, I had not comprehended.

A big-screen adaptation would probably work, if they hacked and disfigured it beyond all recognition.

Alternatively...

Instead I'll buy the Transformer, with the keyboard dock, and p**s the remaining £170 up the wall...

Begone foul demon!

That is without a doubt the ugliest phone I've seen in recent years.

Impressive

Tried a load of Audio player apps, and settled on this one.

The functionality is second to none, and the sound quality on my Galaxy S (with a volume enhancer, eg: Voodoo Soundfix) is good enough to rival any stand-alone PMP.

Also the fact you have a very good lockscreen, that only appears when the headphones are plugged in, and allows for swipe gestures, is a godsend.

Logic?

If Apple were to release an iPad with a built-in HDMI port, would you review the HDMI port separately?

thecresta

Avoid!

The sound is terrible! So bad I'm scared to turn it on.

The in-built games work fine, but cartridge-based games are poorly emulated (for some reason) and you will experience regular glitches - if they load at all!

Where to buy the RHA SA-850

Flash works fine on my Galaxy S. Providing you turn it off.

I would be useful to only enable certain elements on a page, for example videos or interactive elements. But hey, where would the fun be in that?

Fan of the Animated Series...

The film wasn't terrible, it just wasn't good. The pace was too slow and the characters were bland compared to their colourful personalities in the series. And the acting is awful. And the fighting is cringeworthy. A real shame, and I can't see them making the other two books into films, which is a good thing.
