Pilots get paid jack-all
Fight attendants get paid peanuts. Because all of the money has been sucked up further up the corporate chain, these people can barely scrape a living so it should come as no surprise that temperatures rise and tempers flair.
Yes keep using cash at every opportunity because a World / Nation with only access to plastic Credit / Debit 1) distorts markets 2) loss of historic significance 3) all too prophetic.
Yes there is a floor limit for Credit Card transactions under X GBP, the card will be authorized (with PIN stored ON-CARD) even if there is no internet connectivity to the till! Debit Cards are different and need to perform a balance query before auth. Would never recommend you eat their filth, however :)
parking enforcement officer...
...further up the road where google teleports you to is Mr Jobsworth writing a ticket for what looks like a .gov.uk Ford Transit van.
10% rise is actually a fair whack!
Turns out businesses can do this without too much recourse because once your fixed costs are accounted for this call charge hike comes out of your 'disposable' income. The 20 and 30 somethings today only need Broadband and a mobile phone.
As social engineering goes
...it's simple but effective. I've got to laugh at the lengths some parents will go to give their genetic offspring the 'best' start in life. Signing them away at birth was a good start :)
Even without a union office drones could club together and start throwing some bureaucracy back in managements face. Thing is most of the office drones i've attended the office with over the last 6 years are spineless brown-nosing so-and-so's who tow the official line even if it does not represent their best interests. Office workers are so down trodden and emotionally beaten into submission that Stockholm syndrome pervades.
the UK is in for a stretch of deflation, then inflation.
that's it i'm done.
you fools! you sleepwalked into it!
unlikely to work
...with all the distractions installed on their home PCs. Dual booting would be the only way to keep 1 OS clean for work use, while the other could be used for BonziBuddy and SnakeOil&Co.
gets the good old thumbs up from me !
too right. this joins the top 5 ways to go :)
been using this service on and off since it started. it's great if your internet is blocked at work so you can get somebody to google for you! otherwise you could just google the question yourself. I guess when everybody has joined it, answers will be really specific and stuff. till then they paid way too much for a service that works with MSN.
proof that legacy customers get left behind
this further confirms my belief that legacy customers get left behind. you would be far better asking to be upgraded or side graded to whatever the current owner is offering. not only could you negotiate a really awesome deal for being a long standing customer, but you won't suddenly get dropped when your account gets forgotten about.
in the past ISPs bought and sold each other all the time causing all sorts of confusion that customer service would have to sort out.
right that is the last i'm reading about the Olympics
the whole thing will be an embarrassment and shambles.
it's a trap
please Top Gear...
drum up support for lower fuel prices and/or REAL alternatives to the internal combustion engine. they have the market share and tons of people listen to Clarkson.
Not the bill payer so it doesn't bother me. If I was then i'd find away around paying because my internet works fine as it is without subsidising somebody elses.
excellent. nice one Liverpuuell!!! now if only other councils could see the mission-creep and bigger picture.
ok how about some real movies being tested?
head over to AV forums for a full run down of the movies worth showing off
test in a dark room?
test using devices that show how accurate the colours are?
come on really start to plug these LED screens so we can get the prices down!!
ever heard of it?
this is sooo balloon boy
something that turns out less awesome than originally hyped !
no clear card for "gamers on a modest budgets?" that'll be the recession and, correct, not wishing to give Nv a leg to stand on. in this downturn they need clear pricing and clear products. the low and medium products have to be significantly inferior feature wise to make the premium stand out.
all they gotta do is sort their drivers out now! something ATI were berated for yonks ago! AMD do not want this label of "bad drivers"!!!
that looks as flimsy as the cheapest memory stick going. not even tough plastic the likes of kingston use. for a 1Gb flash memory stick one could understand, but 32Gb? that's supposed to be special. put metal case on it next time.
another red fail icon from me
just plain fail. i'm just venting on some internet comment page. I understand this will change nothing.
back in the 90's
I thought the idea was tacky. Yes I was a late developer but damn i'm proud of it. back then only the sluts of the class who[r]e them and I doubt much the same has changed. this recent round was just to sell papers, and yet here I am reading about it online first.
paris because i'm sure she snapped a few.
A "bit" like the seagate drives in the xbox 1? funny man! :D
if the core i5 had HT then there would be little to distinguish it with the i7 performance wise. my guess is dual vs tri-channel memory will only be 5-10% difference.
i5 CPU £120
DDR3 4GB 1333 £50
AMD 40nm GFX DX11 £100-£150?
on learning about this i'd like to say
big fat fail SMORANGE! I will never buy, endorse, or have anything to do with your products or services EVER again. I will recommend to all my friends to AVOID your products too.
*also planning on not being in the country when the Olympics is on*
Olympic = describe something BIG.
WHY do I have this nagging feeling that the UK Olympics will be the biggest flop since a fat man dived head first into the swimming pool? Everything that i've seen so far from the pink undecipherable logo to London ancient transport system to the ever ballooning budget to workmen drilling through BT's underground back haul cable means tax payers will be footing the bill for another decade minimum.
my first thoughts were "what if the power goes mid DRAM write cycle?" the answer is loss of data. not good kids. reliable SSDs with all the benefits and none of the cons are still 12-18 months away but by all means continue to buy this tripe - it will make it cheaper for the rest of us!
tux because i like penguins.
OT but related
"All you have to do is in court was the demand a 1040 form with a valid OMB number on it. The IRS Individual Form 1040 has not and cannot comply with the requirements of the PRA because no existing statute authorizes the IRS to impose or collect the federal income tax from individuals. That lack of bona fide authority makes it impossible for IRS to avoid violating the PRA."
simply put the IRS has no statue on which to tax the American people. however bad shit happens to you and your loved ones if you go down this path so it's probably best to continue to pay.
the scaling is completely wrong given how close the chips benchmark.
petition signed, so should you
the one-sided extradition policy needs a million candle power lamp shone on it because it's completely unfair. before any decision is made the playing field should be level.
smile, because i'm still confident he will be acquitted of all accusations.
hah, I looked at 13W and thought it ment 13 Watts ! more like 130 W when running a game !
@ refresh rate eddie. LCDs do not have a refresh rate, they have a response time in milliseconds. Newer LCD panels can run at 120 HERTZ and this gives way to "3D" display tech that has been promised for so long.
turns my floppy into a hard drive
have a look :)
we've put up with fuel taxation for too long
that is all I have to say on this issue
no bounce just yet....
keep this up people, i've mentioned the important things here in that email.
switch between suppliers easily
ability to buy energy units ahead of time
ext bunch of units at spot-plus-lowest-offered-margin
the smart meters should be made in the UK
wow a reason to go into London!
not a huge fan of London at the best of times but this might just do it :D
ha ha ha ha haaa
I lolled IRL. then punched a newspaper bearing her fugly mug. try harder at destroying our civil liberties next time, if you get one Wacki Jacqui.
great advice and I always thought it was possible to get better odds somehow:
using logic instead of emotion
"yer 'WE' are gunna win the game this weekend, aren't we LADS"
bookies are a working class relic :)
I'm glad that pretentious git Suckerberg slid off.
Who's the CEO now b!tch?
didn't some review find out recently...
that SSD's using more than 80% of their capacity start to slow down? the solution: format the drive to 75% capacity and leave 25% unformatted!
brightside tech finally licenced
I went to see the dudes from Brightside in London EXACTLY 3 years 1 day ago, i'll never forget that day because the screen technology was THAT good. Finally we have something that most can afford. Brightside sold the tech to Dolby Labs, so this Samsung should be licenced to Dolby - otherwise there will be patent disputes and lawsuits!
Plasma, get with the times Grandpa! 50" is TOO big for most, 40" is just right.
stingray! stingray! buh ber buh buh ber!
I have that theme tune in my head now,
There had to be "something" wrong with the Tesla, they just couldn't give it 10/10 because in their humble opinion a hydrogen fuel cell is the future. Alternative power trains for transport need good press coverage if they are ever to be taken seriously.
cost & freetards
Until it's free, freetards like myself will begrudge paying for web access on mobiles, especially at UK rates. Few more years yet of milking Jo public left before the networks give in and offer it as inclusive part of the contract.
