1. People have lost track of all the different varieties of OS's. The don't want to go educate themselves on the fine difference between them. What if they invest and make a bad decision?
2. They don't want to go look for drivers to do every little mundane task. It takes too much time and makes everything doubly difficult.
3. Linux doesn't have as many options available once you do have it installed.
Who can humanly keep track of all the passwords needed in todays world? It's not realistic to use password security because of ALL the MOUNTAINS of passwords that are needed. Not even the human brain can keep track of it all. I know I use as little passwords as necessary...it's just not realistic to think people are going to create new 8 character obscure passwords for every little task in their lives.
Been well known
This has been well known and talked about in our circle for a long time. We just came to the conclusion that apple does this to keep you buying in every couple of years. We give apple products a lifespan of two years. Then it's upgrade time. I use my iPhone for three, but it gets pretty slow after that.
Re: CRITICAL MASS
Exactly my thought. What's to stop them from say "O.K." and then carrying on as usual? You think they are going to just give up power so easily? No, it's here for the long term.
The both of them
They both sound like rubbish so what do I care? Worlds better off without them/
Re: It's over
What exactly are you trying to keep out of the hands of who? Because I guarantee you they already have it and have had it for a while.
Look, it's over. If they want you, you will be had. There is NO privacy, there is NO security. It died around the late 90's. if some one wants to find you, if they want your data... it's out there. To avoid it you would have to cut yourself off Putin style. No computers. Your SSN, your credit card numbers, your tax information, your contacts, your address, your profile, your search habits... it's already out there. What more could they want?
All or Nothing
Something like that s an all or nothing campaign. Either everyone does it or it doesn't work. Unfortunately there are a whole lot of dumb monkeys out there...a whole, whole lot.
Who puts up pictures of their kids on Facebook is pretty much irresponsible and a dumb dumb anyway. I don't care what she has to say.
Pretty plain and simple
These are people who don't have kids or human decency V.S. the rest of the world. I could care less about what you do to yourselves. I'll probably even watch it, but I sure as hell don't want it being pushed on 6-7 yr. old kids ... who are googling (mine is) now.
Know we know when you
get aroused. Resistance is futile.
Re: I see this as a baaaaaad sign.
So lets split it 7 more times and make it 10's of dollars? no, something smells, and I suspect it's someone they want to take care of leaving the company. i've seen it happen before. The price of that stock will never recover, and if it does it will be over valued at that point.
I see this as a baaaaaad sign.
Something fishy going on. Problem is they have devalued it beyond the point of recovery. That usually happens right before the whole thing collapses.
Do all evil, all the time. Google will be the end of humanity. #prep
They took it down?
Did they take down weed firm? Keeps telling me it's not available.
Tell that one to the Native Americans.
"though history has vindicated Native Americans, of course." Tell that to the Native Americans. Star wars sucked the big D of HollyWOOD...thus the prequel failure.
It was Microsoft's fault
I've known apple
I've been using apples since '97. I have always known apple. Been familiar with apple products. With the way they do things. I have always felt comfortable with apple. I honestly have no clue what apple is doing here. It feels totally unfamiliar and altogether wrong. The whole thing feels very microsoft to me. It's bizarre.
Not the brightest candle in the church.
Just figured this out did he?
We have what we need
We already have what we need at this time and it's taking up too much server space at this point thank you. We reserve the right to further evasiveness once usership has recovered. That is all puny infidels.
is that a phone?
or did his wife wack that guy in the face with a waffle iron.
Don't believe the hype.
WAAAAAIT a minute....stop.
So people are loading up and running windows 7-8 just so they can run xp virtually? Is that what's going on here?
Maybe he is making...
The antithesis to googles AI. which will become terminator and which will become our savior? we need to figure this out quickly.
Nobody cares. Nobody wears a watch unless it's fancy jewelry.
Or Putin's men working through Viktor Yanukovych?
I'm more upset
That Safari will not currently play sound cloud pages... But what ever
O. M. G.
People are idiots!
I really don't like
The new apple. I have been using apple since 98...that's 98. I have been through all iterations of apple since Jobs was reinstated. The new iTunes is a PITA! I still haven't figured it out. I hate being spied on all the time, and they are obviously working the end user for the extra coin. They could standardize their power adapters...but don't. They are constantly forcing you to upgrade and change with little to no legacy support. It's all about forcing you to buy in. The only thing stopping me from going windows is that windows is WORSE. i can't get crap done on a windows machine. I spend all my time trying to "fix it" to work. Some one with some brains AND common sense really needs to save humanity with a NEW OS! You would make a mint and take over the world.
China spreds trash all the way to Moon.
Fixed for you.
This is the conversation I just had over coffee this morning:
Daddy, will my robot put me to bed at night?
Why don't we just not invite them in?
We will have no choice, there are too many willing fools in the world, like computers and smartphones they will be in every part of your life. Get used to them.
Will it do my homework?
Learn where the off button is honey, daddy will teach you where the off button is.
Jobs would have turned Google into his whipping bitch by now.
I don't understand it. A whole generation has been raised without watches at this point. Nobody wears watches but gangsters. A search engine is doable and fits nicely into their company identity. They have the storage and technology, all they need to do is devote themselves to a top of the line algorithm. We need an alternative to Google obviously. A watch just makes no sense.
Ridiculous. Apple needs to be working on a search engine to take down Google. Nobody is interested in a watch...from anyone.
This is so Fracking Scary.
Teach your children now. Start spreading the news with #Prep. I have. These people are not going to be able to handle this technology. They are too arrogant, eager, and young. This is the incarnation of evil and it's about to get very, very bad for the human animal. There is only one possible outcome. After the fall of man we will join with machine and try to fight them from the inside. #Prep.
Ain't gonna work
The guy is too attached to his perceived company, which ain't his company any more. He doesn't have any clue of the inner workings and office politics currently going on. How would you like the former owner of a company you work for breathing down your neck and carrying on about how it used to be done?
Google owns the LAW. Do all evil, all the time.
Now they own your home as well. Prep for the robot wars.
Re: And you couldn't save energy before the Google purchase...
Well, lets examine this. They have build super secret storage facilities that are more secure than area 51. Their data has become uncontrollable and showing "sign of life". They own the most advance war machine company on Earth, and they have been given the U.S. health care system to boot. ...Now they control your house. Google is obviously run by the Alien robot overlords preparing for world invasion. Prepare yourselves now.
Do all evil all the time.
Believe it when I see it suckers.
Not that it really matters
It's already too late. The best thing you can do at this point is teach your children how to live in a world where you are being constantly spied upon, even in your own home. Thank you again technology, for changing our world. By the way, I just hot linked this story and it was taken down for a few minutes...then reappeared.
Just so you know
IK makes some of the best keyboards I've ever played... and I've played a lot.
DO ALL EVIL ALL THE TIME.
You've been had... Google already has your essence downloaded into it's secret data warehouses. It is building a replicant of you as we speak. Technology bought from Boston Dynamics. You are no longer necessary humans. What are you going to do? Turn google off? Right....
Nothing to see here.
"Bet the farm" products were all apple used to do then. Every product was an all or nothing product. As much of a perverse ttyrant Jobs was, the world misses him right now. The whole tech industry is simply riding on his coat tails at the moment.
This works both ways
Imagine a computer bathed in electromagnetic fields. I would fry the electronics. Renders the object "cloaked" useless.
I keep telling you guys
Privacy died in 1995. You are way, way, waaaayyyyy late on this. I have totally given up hope half a decade ago. What will change? Absolutely nothing. Welcome to the future. A place where you are but a member of the borg collective and robots raise your children.... it's too late. We will soon merge our conscience into a machine and travel into the stars. It's "a brave new wold" until then. Thanks technology.
It's been given the U.S. health care system. Now it knows how to kill us.
Simple is ...
The plan is to make a cheapo iPhone knockoff. Of course it isn't, and in case you didn't notice, the iphoneC didn't do so well.
Re: Should I upgrade from an iPad 1?
I'm using an iPad 1 as well. It is getting pretty slow with all the OS upgrades. Even the internet is getting frustratingly slow on it. I use a bunch of the more high end apps, and some of them won't even work on the older iPad now… so it's being donated to the 6 yr. old. She is ecstatic. I got my use out of it. Time for an upgrade.
