Agreed - very underwhelmed.
Re: Whilst I can see the value.....
Yes I am sure it will also enable the power companeis to provide more agressive peak usage charges in the future too.
Games Workshop Space Marines, old Airfix kits
more than i could have ever imagined maybe ?
Re: Apple reducing their price - burberry error
Burberry did not reduce their prices to cause damage to their brand.
It was actually a flood of Burberry fakes which were widely taken up after Daniella Westbrook adopted the brand and it being a terrace staple of the well shod fooligans for awhile.
Re: Your post = Failware
"... normal people don't isntall apps...they doon't install ONly nerds.... "
My 72 year old father who happily installs apps on his iPad will be thrilled.
Re: Time to die
Never gets old no matter how many times I hear that. One of the reasons why Bladerunner has been for many years and will most likely continue to be my favorite film.
thanks for lifting up the end of a hard day
I want one. it's the RAWR and fire breathing from the dragon which has sold it to me. Is there a gelskin with this design yet?
Re: google.com ain't the problem
I have been told that using No Script in Mozilla and blocking 'google analytics' enables you to avoid this tracking - would be interested to know if anyone else knows better
Don't play games with me your higness
I want those plans, and you have them
> A few dozen people imposing their will on a few million, very unpleasant.
You were talking about the News International board of directors there.
what he said
"Also there is no reference to the post at the Eve Online website from the COO stating they took both the game servers and web site offline in response to a DDoS attack for them to check for signs of compromise."
CCP didn't cave in to the DDOS as the author of the article suggests. They cautiously took the entire thing offline as they were worried the DDOS was a smoke screen for something else. Which correct me if I am wrong it is understood this is what happened with SONY?
As for the forum wailing - the EvE forums are always wailing. I haven't had time to read them all but the few pages I read on General Discussion very early this morning showed a balanced view with about half saying good job CCP - you can't be too careful and the other half comprised of naive nitiwts wanting free stuff for the downtime.
I salute CCP for how they reacted to this. Paying customer for several years btw.
CAOD is that way -->
Just sad this got onto El Reg instead of remaining where it should have been . . . .
This morning I got up and went to the fridge for my normal glass of orange juice.
I came away with a glass of milk, Anonymous are in my fridge hacking my drink choices.
I hope it looks like a boy humming bird
Or there could be some really interesting video feeds during mating season
"globally famous for being the only one of the deep-cover spy ring unmasked by the US last year who is even mildly attractive, "
You owe me a new keyboard Lewis !
I can think of quite a few vile emissions I have had to put up with from some in public but none were smoke
last on the list
I too would rather tighten the belt every where else other than the cherished social fizzy happy pop at my local pub.
In these times of austerity I have reduced the frequency of my visits however.
I am not on Facebook but
I just bought some asparagus and like the 80's television program 'Minder.'
Just thought everyone should know.
future terraformers -
If you get a cryptic message from someone in the corporation about the site of a crashed alien wreck which is bound to earn you lots of bounty credits or a holiday on a pleasure world ignore it.
Or show up wearing some old steel visor helmet or similar.
no thank-you !
Personally I would rather avoid all of these payment methods. I just don't want it. I don't mind using my Oyster instead of a paper ticket for tube and train, but I would not want to use my Oyster or Banking Card or Mobile for any of these payment methods.
I hope we have a choice whether to enable this or not if it becomes fitted as standard into future devices.
Actually really good fun
"Each user of NoScript has the difficult task of learning and understanding how the web is constructed, so as to make informed judgments about what bits of it have access to run programs"
I've been using it for years and I actually found it really fun seeing all the different domains involved to run a particular site, third party ads, traffic monitoring, google analytics etc.
I have had friends use my machine and wince in pain when websites don't load all the content, after I explain about NoScript and show them what to allow / keep blocked they generally end up installing it themselves.
Gordon Freeman moment
Wanted - Crowbar
I can see this working
I can see a future of girls reading Vogue etc on their iPads, its just a bit smaller than the slimmed down magazine size and the option to have embedded movies, make up demonstrations, linking straight to where to buy / reserve new clothes etc will be a win. Instead of cat walk photo shoots you can get a little movie with sound of the latest bit of flutter.
It's cute. I had a demo version which I was looking at in a pub before they were released in the UK and all the surrounding girls loved it's cuteness.
Afterall it's perfect for a handbag no ?
I am sure there will be applications for us guys too but I can just imagine the excitement of my magazine devouring GF at this. OMG ! many magazines all on my iPad in one place with the latest stuff, the old stuff I can read *whenever I want* over and over and look ! Movies of clothes !
happy for less coffee table clutter.
Paris cos she's cute too.
She probably has the Art of War on hers.
iPhone = pretty and large screen
BB = better typing and smaller screen
Even the most fervent of my iPhone buddies suffer keyboard envy of the amazing Bold 9700
Yeah iPhones are more fun to play with but if you are firing out mails BB wins hands down
"If you have a common bin for several parties, you're out of luck - simple as that."
Or in luck if you are the one getting the goodies from being such a nice re-cycling person.
Or out of luck depending on whether fines are being shared out for overly heavy waste collections for the entire property, you share a fine for wasteful neighbours.
Regardless as you freely admit it works in your village so bad luck for everyone else right?
Frightening and misleading
Can you please stop the frightening headlines about Paris ?
I was initially scared that something awful had happened to Paris Hilton involving something to do with a crazy steam-punk-relaxation-drug-chamber or something horrible.
Then I saw the article was about paper airplanes, space and science.
I am so happy that Paris Hilton is well !
