Salting passwords usually stops people from using a dictionary hack on them but if the random salt was also given out then it would be a security risk...depends on the exact type of encryption which is used (md5/SHA-1 etc)

Kaspersky (KIS) is the best out there (imo) that is a paid security suite that i use. I do not consider myself paranoid but i can be a little over protective.

£1k+ for a laptop with a 4 cell battery and only onboard graphics? I'll take a 500gb - 1tb sata 7200 rpm over the ssd with a 9 cell battery and the graphics card amd 6950 and still get that price under £1k!

Nice specs, decent graphics, still not anywhere near my desktop, but def worth a looking at...all depending on the price. Would be tempted if its around £1,000. (realistic price would probably be around £1200-1500 i guess)
