Seagate slashes bare drive warranties

HDD Outdated or Obsolete

Will many people be using HDD's in a few years time ?

The advent of Flash Drive Memory would appear to be the death knell of the HDD.

Without the silicon manufacturing plant to make them......what hope for many of the

main industry names still being about in 3 years time.

Time to stop worrying about the warranty issues.

A Warranty is a piece of paper with writing on.

It is only as good as the intentions of the provider.

The company has to be in existance to honour any "threats" contained in the offer !

Happy Christmas.

Brand & Ross

A pair of overpaid, unfunny retards.

They need all that comes their way, hopefully on some unheard of commercial radio.

They make "Entertainment" ? sound like bad idea.

To hell with them

You get what you pay for

When you take into account the demand for skilled and intelligent labour required to run Heathrow...there seems to be a finite limit of availability.

After the baggage handlers and cleaning staff have been selected there is

an ever decreasing pool of high IQ people to glean work in the security section of the operation.

Whilst the T5 may be spotless, the baggage handlers have already shown their

own keenly honed abilities at the job.

It is only fair that the security section should try and claim some of the action

in upsetting the passengers.

If there are no passengers there is a vastly reduced security threat.

Time Bandits

The 10 months will turn out to be 5 months or less with the current system.

Whilst away at "college" , he will doubtless learn the error of his ways and not get caught out so easily again.

It was obviously his lack of guidance that caused his detection.

Mr Gates has vast legal resources to ensure that his use of others efforts are not so well punished. "Give them $5 million out of the till Steve".

Commuters shouting into their mobiles? Just jam 'em

Big Noise

I would willingly listen to the odd phone call as a trade off of having to listen

to the barpersons attempt at being a DJ and playing teenage gunk at annoying levels of discomfort for his own brain dead ammusement.

Oh the wonderful days of a quiet pint and a chat without recourse to shouting.

Mix the bar music together with the phones and it's getting like hell.

Do I live in the big metropolis ?......not anymore.

I moved down to The Lizard in Cornwall...as far away as possible...maybe the Outer Hebrides ????

ENIGMA Settings

This cracking of a code is a bit confusing for me.

As I read and understood, the machine was developed to ascertain the settings

on the Enigma machine which were independently levers that were changed

to alter the code. When the new settings were evaluated the code could be read from the Enigma machine.

Wacky Races

Darstadly and Mutley must be rolling about on the floor by now.

As I recall, the plots were more devious and the driving more entertaining !

CB Radio and Volvo's

Back in the late 70.s and early 80's a pal of mine was buying cars at auctions and would take 4 or 5 people with him to drive them back to base.

To keep in contact on the journey they used CB radio's.

On a certain frequency whilst transmitting, the Volvo's with electronic ignition

would cut out. They never managed to achieve this with other cars.
