This is going to look good in my hand, roll on June, then I can hand over the S3 mini and Lumia 800 to the sisters kids
Easily smuggled onto a plane, 3D printing outlawed, good work dufus
None of the above
Nokia EOS will be my next phone in release. I may also go for a backup android if the Xbox music app is released by then.
Buy a vivobook then
Re: It runs Windows 8 and therefore is crap
Read what you said back to yourself... now... hang your head in shame... "Equally capable" I suppose this sort of idiocy was inevitable after opening the internet up to every Tom, Dick and Harry..
If you use windows media center
Buy the amulet voice remote for flawless speech control over tv, film and music. My blind parents have been using it for over 2 years and its the best speech implementation I've seen... Ever, check out my demo on YouTube search for "DIY speech enabled TV" you'll never go back to mashing buttons again or searching through lists for your films and tv series
The sooner we get back to RIM and Nokia running the phonesphere the better
Re: tethering isn't new...
Depends on whether your carrier has enabled it.
They should bring that back in this html5 era, it would be awesome for sales people
all very well made appa
I'm no android fanboi but patents blow, hold everyone back.
Re: Been in use for years...
so had rounded corners, didn't stop apple using their patents against numerous companies.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtRdwPuw1lk please check out this video of my voice controlled media centre made for my blind parents. it is used day in, day out flawlessly for over 2 years and makes their lives so much easier. Voice tech is so much quicker and easier when controlling media, you should all be using it!
My parents are both blind and voice control with media centre is a brilliant gift to them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtRdwPuw1lk such commands as copy DVD, play movie battleship, play artist Abba, record formation street next Wednesday on ITV, are all possible and faster than using any mouse or keyboard to find media. All set up for about £400
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtRdwPuw1lk and it all costs pittance
Re: Don't count them out yet
Microsoft Stepped in to save them too... I'm seeing a pattern here.
That it all
Screen stops responding all the time on mine... Makes me want to throw it against the wall. Its not about how many cores you have if your OS is poo
do it now!!!
You all need to use the amulet remote, it has no intelligence but makes you feel like your on the enterprise while using your tv. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtRdwPuw1lk
More of this until we are back to those big ass laptops :)
@tommy that features on all Nokia wp7 phones anywho
I have Zune on two WP7 devices (using the same account when setup) my fathers media centre, my PC and Xbox... Great for £8.99 especially when you can download all you want... My only issue is that ministry of sound albums still have to be bought
As a phone
If its anything like WP7 then its more responsive than android, has a better keyboard than iPhone and apparently has a great battery. The phone on WP7 is super fast although I would suggest the keypad is visible by default
I'll have red and blue or maybe yellow.. I'm into WP7, all my music comes through zunepass, which share the same account on both the WP7 phones (using the same email address) and is used in my parent home cinema and in my own home. I'll wait till November for the phone and buy them unlocked using the additional Nokia stocks I picked up during the price crash at the launch..
then I'll just have to wait for a pink and blue surface to arrive :)
look on youtube for the amulet remote
Dear oh dear
Lol... "server", I think we all get the drift and i think El reg is once again showing it's bias... £900 for a slow, non redundent "server" that's nothing more than an expensive media server. I would consider it for a 5 user workplace if it was £300
Ahhh El Reg
I see my replies are now being dismissed / censored / whatever. Very well El reg, I'm off, you're site and obviously now your moderators seem be a bunch of elitists passing judgments that sway to the minority rather than reporting to the majority, and of which the majority of who rarely know what the hell they are on about or what foundations today’s business is built on.
Just to clarify I enjoy reading and arguing the comments from other OS users and in some cases they raise valid points but I'm not staying around a place that censors my replies to validate my side of an argument,
I am current working on a wind generator that produces 100W per square metre for £30, so don't worry everyone, I will save you all.
@ Why does it matter anyway?
Is that title a pun?
Why do google assume they can muscle in on everyone's site?

Vista on a dual Core with 4GB will out perform XP on any task, I'm afraid XP really isn't built with parallelism in mind like vista was, I suggest you go out and use Vista on a 4GB dual core before you pass comment.
I can't comment on Ubuntu I have only used it on a single core 2 GB machine, and after spending ages setting it up with an Nvidia card and linksys wireless card, (which failed after installing the 236 updates I was requested to install) i formatted it after 3 days it really doesn't do much, alright for a home PC maybe.
I'd slap it out purely for the GPOs, new redirected folders, additional peripherals and user security, some software is becoming vista only. Although I'd only do that on new machines as the general age of IT equipment restricts the wide spread deployment of vista.. Unfortunately, depending on what type of company you have it maybe the only way of stopping data from leaving your company boundries.
Yeah, tell me about it when you have an OS with natively supports Wireless connections on hardware from numerous vendors were you don't have to resort to numerous ndis commands!! I ain't saying shit because as I previously stated whatever comparable facts there are on the differences, improvements or bugs between the different OSs it's always drowned out by.... MS are shit, blah blah blah, baby killers.
I doubt I will be frequenting el reg much longer as you can find better technical articles in other places with comments from people who actually use the OS and have constructive criticism or warning about them and have actual jobs in IT and development, not a load of ill informed mutants who barely know how to use a home PC and like jumping on the latest hate MS craze
Open Office has issues, it's Ok, it's not there fault, hey come on guys it's just the way software is you know?
MS Office has issues, Kill Bill, burn all MS developers children and piss on their faces, how dare they do this, what vile disgusting shit, boycot boycot burn!!!
Kinda sums it up, no matter we all really know which the better Office suite is even if you choose not to use it.
What's Itanium got to do with x86, if I remember correctly you have to install the IA-64 compiles of the OS and who even cares anywho something better will be out next week, probably by Intel, then IBM, then Intel again then some obscure highly invested Chinese brand will wipe the floor with them both
