The London killing cannot ever be used as an excuse to wiretap me!
I'm not a terrorist, I don't believe in these fair tales of Alla or God and Jesus.
Seems to me we should be watching those who are not "British" AND who have a belief in fairy tales! or are stupid enough to believe a "preacher/bullshitter".
Bloody religion breeds nothing but hatred! Let’s eradicate this scourge on humanity!
"Perhaps today IS a good day to die
PREPARE FOR RAMMING SPEED"
I could hear Worfs voice as I read it!
Re: Not the brightest bunch?
"One dickhead does not equate to every user being a dickhead."
Are you sure about that?
Unless its law, I wont be having a smart meter installed. Simple as that.
It seems the phone which gives more commission wins now. :("
So in the past two decades this has not been the case?
Wake up, you're all whores to one big company or another, you're owned by them and you can't see it happening. That is what you get for multimillion £/$ marketing campaigns, you pwn your customer base.
"There will also be more online support offered, with specially commissioned video content and websites designed to tackle common complaints."
Complaints, what complaints? You wouldn't think the iSheeple have any complaints based on the feedback by the commentards. Oh, right! Its just a feature phone!
"The UK is accusing the European Commission of holding up its superfast broadband programme with pesky concerns about free market competition."
The EU should realise that no one else is bidding for fund to build the network!
How can they're be competition when no one else is building the network?
A button lights up when your finger presses it!
Not that you know. Unless of course Apple also provide a way for their "kin" (erk) to make their finger transparent.
(they already make them seem invisible with all the wanking motion going on)
Who watches anything on ITV? There might be 3 shows the entire week worth watching and does not justify ITV Player. Who the hell uses iPlayer either? The BEEB has even less worth watching.
Re: @AC 08:46 (was: M & S considered "posh" and "high end"?)
" a world traveler "
What are you trying to imply?
Re: I love living in Germany
"I just hope that other countries (Aus, UK, US) dont have to go through their own Stazi years before they learn that Privacy is important..."
In US/UK your information is cash. Those breedy b*stards are not going got give that up. Fat f*ckers just want to get fatter. If that means selling yuor privacy, then thats what will happen.
"I can already see some idiot wearing this to a bar, maybe even trying to do a pick up....sad.
I can see someone getting punched in the face for wearing them."
Your down voters must live in la la land! If anyone wore that in my local, you'd definately be mocked before having to defend yourself. Thats the way life is. Small I know. But small all the same.
NO DELETE BUTTON!
People need to learn from mistakes!
Re: Nokia nerds are all aquiver...
"This is another case of sexy hardware being let down by the OS."
You're confused with iPhone, which has neither sexy hardware or OS.
Re: "Thinner and lighter"
"Ditched the wireless charging maybe?!"
What, gone back in time to plugging it in to charge? yeah, right!
"You were obviously expecting an icon grid app launching OS. Windows Phone doesn't use that tired old interface paradigm. Why have icons and widgets, combine the two!"
Spot on. iOS and 'roid both have a GUI based in last decade. 2013 brings a cleaner, newer and faster interface requiring far fewer presses to get the information you want. So bollox to the ladies slating it. We'll wait for them to catch up with the times. (and lets face it, if Apple released this interface, it would have been praise for being innovative)
I used to like HTC. The hardward isn't the issue, it's the non-existent support! HTC have a bug in the stock mail app which they should be aware of considering how many people are complaining about it on the forums.
STILL no fix, over 12 months later.
Sorry HTC you need to get a grip on both hardware and customer support.
My next phone won't be the HTC One, but it would have been.
caching is a waste of time.
Your downvoter knows SFA.
"McCormick, a former Merseyside policeman" SAYS IT ALL!
Re: withdraw from doing business in Australia
"Crap like, "we won’t invest in your country" or "we will take our businesses elsewhere" is just that, crap. "
If you won't invest in our country, you won't be allowed to trade in our country! Since a large slice of your revenue is from our country, you lose! And, your competitors gain.
Our politicos have not got the balls to do it. But the reason nothing changes is because our politicos are large shareholders in these very same companies.
It's about time we banned our politico's from owning shares or having any ties with commerce. They are there to serve us not the corporates, though you would not think so.
But again, it will never happen because greed is human nature.
"I didn't think anyone who wanted to be taken seriously ever used hotmail.
I wonder if that also applies to outlook.com."
Your opinions can not obviously be taken seriously.
I've used hotmail for years and years, before Gmail and its ilk.
Did that not occur to you? Never mind, you live and you learn.
Re: Does it has to be because of internal warfare?
"Cook is gone"
I had to re-read that.
Re: Assuming steady price of Gorillas?
"Still, that said, being able say my phone has a screen made of aluminium would be cooler than having one made of gorillas..."
(Fanbois for ya!)
6 years - 6 years - my Android was unsupported after about 6 months. I suspect over the years a much higher percentage of Androids will end up in drawers than iPhones. I know an iPhone 3GS that is now on it's 3rd owner and is still the same load of shite!
what is actually being said!
Enormous advertising firm Google has said that any suggestion that its veep Matt Brittin was less than accurate when testifying to Parliament on the firm's UK corporation tax affairs is as "wilfully misleading" as our UK tax return!.
Re: What will they do with the overseas assets?
"God I hate that type of statement, isn't it truly amazing that some people really think that rich people simply stash all their money in a big safe to keep it away from all the grubby poor people?"
I have no issue with people being rich. If money is your motivator, the got for it and earn your stake. BUT, conning the tax man by moving money about is a LOW LIFE activity (Schmit anyone). Others are paying your way which makes you a scum sucking money grabbing low life. You can't have it both ways.
What is so wrong with paying tax? Paying your way means your not a scum sucking lowlife living off other people.
Sorry Apple, it is what it is!
Re: £20 or £400
Oh dear, Oh dear. You can't see the wood for the trees!
Re: £20 or £400
"When I eventually upgrade my iPhone 4, I won't be sticking with iOS I don't think unless Apple suddenly comes up with something genuinely brilliant which is something they haven't done recently."
People are waking up to this fact. far too slowly, but that is hardly surprising.
"Amazing, people who own a certain brand of car are also very inclined to stick with the brand whenever they need a new one. Of course that is something most people already knew for years ;-)"
I had a Renault, then a Hyundai then a BMW and now a different Renault model.
Anyway, who wants an iPhone with a feature set from last decade when you can get 2013 feature sets from other handset types? Not very clever if you ask me.
Re: The Lib Dems are in Government?
"The Lib Dems are in Government?
Certainly not the retarded electorate who voted tory FFS!
Why do my English brethren make me want to be violently sick?
"@Miek - he's more commonly known as Waylon Smithers these days..."
Yeah, and Dave Chameleon is Mr Burn's, grumpy, old, selfish, rich git..
"Tesco reckons contact-less pay-by-wave technology in phones has had its day - and the shopping giant is moving back to relying on cash and traditional payment cards."
This is bollox! If NFC was in iPhones, the story would be different. But because the plebs haven't got a clue and need to wait for a killer application for a technology, it has not become as normal (to some) as updating your status. 1,000,000's use contactless technologies every day.
Re: More iPads equals
"More iPads equals
more work for iOS app developers :)"
Great, just what we need, more shitty Apps! Another fart app or talking cat anyone?
Give me a handful of decent useful apps, the rest can be deleted.
Sad but true.
Does it really matter?
Re: Hell has officially frozen over
"Hell has officially frozen over
A Government IT project......*that wasn't a complete fuck up*."
You think gov.uk ISN'T a complete fuck up?
You are typing gov.uk?
"the government portal gov.uk has been named Design of the Year 2013 by the Design Museum in London."
I bet the deign museum also voted the iPhone the best design!
Oi! gov.uk! the 90's called and wants their designs back. W T F??
I already use gestures.
Using 1 finger, I make a pressing action onto a button and hey presto!, sky changes channel, or adjusts the volume, or letters appear on a screen, etc.....
Of course my favourite being a "your a total fcking wanker" motion to the retards are surrounded by, followed by a verbal gesture to indicate that their mother didn't do a very good job!
Re: Audible verbal gesture?
"I presume it is not possible to patent the use of the phrase "Turn Off!" to turn off a television? So why should it be possible to patent a gesture that means the same thing? Sure you can patent the technology that interprets the gesture, but the gesture itself - what's the difference between that and a verbal command?"
Mills in Lawyers fees.
And how will they tell the difference between what someone may be doing when watching porn and a gesture used when, say, David Cameron, Maggie Thatcher, Nick Clegg or George Osbourne appears on screen?
Who looks at those wearing a bluetooth headset and thinks "What a wanker"?
Say no more.
"Android allowed the company to "develop a far more immersive Facebook experience" than the Jobsian-controlled iOS."
.....and if farcebookers pick up and hold "home", having an iPhone will be come secondary (to a growing majority, it already is)
Apple will have to play along, especially if "Home" picks up. Who wants a phone that doesn't offer or run your preferred software? (Windows phone anyone?) They can't be picky; they have to be pwnd along with other services/everyone else.
Proof if needed, money doesn't buy taste or class or respect.
The plebs are starting to catch up!
I've been saying it for years, the iFase is over before it begun.
Similarly the iFad is being outsold by other tablets.
The whole "premium/quality" bollox is exactley that, bollox.
Apple is like rock music, loved last decade, loathed by the majority now.
"The S3/4 will eventually become what the Blackberry became, the Burberry Chav phone of the masses"
The iPhone IS the chav phone for the masses!
