"Magical. That's why they made it look like My Little Pony, so their punters will fit in just fine"
Ichan swooping in on the weak! This is not good news for Apple. Having intrest from a corporate scavenger.
" .......the people entering their details into the site as "dumb fucks".
Of course, Zuck's grown up now and has taken Facebook public. Surely no one would now label the over 1 billion people on his network as chumps for handing over so much personal data, would they?"
Wouldn't lower myself. I'm worth more than a poxy phone FFS!
Re: In the UK
"..... you look at somebody and their name & FB profile (relationship status, etc) pops up"
Not me! I'm not a fake fakebook user, 'cause i'm not fake!
"But with shareholders concerned that the fruity firm has stopped innovating"
Hardly surprising! Fingerprint sensors are decades old!
Polish a turd and the iFolly is born!
"There also was a lot of sensational speculation about the 3GS and the 4S and look where it ended. There will be no fingerprint sensor. Its just rumors, smoke and mirrors"
Fingerprint sensor? Hello 2000! Back again I see?
Talk about desperate!
They are STILL using Steve Jobs to market the iFolly!
It just smacks of desperation.
"wisdom of crowds "
I'd suggest the opposite! As a mass, people are thick.
I've never cared less about my down votes. After all, the truth hurts and no one wants to hear it.
Re: Not just women.
"The UK is mad enough with Daily Mail reading morons assuming that “anyone with a camera around kids is up to no good”, add in some gay German getting over exited and then commenting was just revolting to me*."
"Everyone now has a voice, not everyone has self restraint or decency."
Conflict! re-think needed.
Re: Not just women.
I'll choose cash any day.
Its worked for years and doesn't need changing for changing sake.
Just because you can do something with tech doesn't mean we must!
"People like yourself keep saying how essential it is to ingrain social media sites and services into your lives, but this is a modern, self-perpetuating lie"
Of course when I say it i've downvoted like crazy. Speaks volumes for the considered opinions of el reg commetards!
"At what point did the population become so incapable of thought that they couldnt raise children? A skill developed over many hundreds of years."
In the 80's!
The decade when society changed. The decade when getting as much as you can to spend on your own hedonistic desires with little/no regard to anyone else. (Thanks Maggie, your legacy has caused a severe decline in morality) After that point the majority were taught to go out for all they could get. Great lesson picked by the todays parents. Its so easy to see when you look without jaded glasses.
Now paretns expect someone else to pick up the peices, mums net is a perfect example of this.
Re: Do I understand this?
"Does this po-faced monkey-boy understand WTF he is talking about?"
No, but good ole blighty still vote for it! Doesn't inspire confidence in our "peers".
Re: Sorry Dave but it's not always nice out there
"Sadly your average kid up to about 15 doesn't have enough life experience to know to fully handle some situations, they get thrown to the wolves online and torn to pieces."
Parental repsonsibility till 16! So why do the majority, it seems, of parents decide not to take responsibility when it comes to net access?
"Perhaps children need better education in social media and how to deal with problems."
Perhaps parents should teach children that life ISN'T ONLINE! More respect given to those without a social media presense.
"Not when you're a younger teenager and the entire social life of all your friends is arranged and conducted on a particular social media site."
Oh! Well then, your trapped and you can't escape!
What a ridiculous statement of fiction! Of course you have choices, you choose not to accept the most logical course of action. If you advocate this whole fallacy of your entire life being online, that can ony be described as tragic! Ultimately YOU are to blame for any ill.
Recent reports reckon parents are not letting their kids out on bike rides, yet happily give them unfilter net access, because they barely know how it works let alone the dangers.
Of course I point out the obvious and I get shot down in flames.
Who is to blame here?
Re: Gross stupidity
"Oh well whatever headline sells the most papers."
Sad isn't it?
Only sad people who should be ignored read newspapers.
Re: Energy Deception
"I don't see why "foreign companies selling it back to us" couldn't lower the bills?"
Of course, our friendly "foreign companies" will extract UK gas and never think of making £M's in profits!
Seems a bit niave to me.
Same old rubbish
"Yeah but if say 70% of the Android market is "landfill" then the logic would be that many of those users would not be looking to spend money on apps as their disposable income would be less. Also many may not even know what an "app" is and have just ended up with an Android phone as they needed a mobile and that's what was on sale that day."
have i woken up in 2007?
" the real world, Windows Phone or the latest Blackberry handsets are owned by no more than 1% of the population, The stuffed retail chain holds the remainder."
Im proud to think different. (and I wouldn't own an iFolly).
If we were all the same, life would be very dull.
" it was little more than a photo opportunity, the real work gets done in the background meetings - but snubbing Putin? What a way to repay Pootie for gagging Snowjob."
There is alot more going on than one man!
Re: A question ..
"since he (POTUS) is clearly prepared to alter the trajectory of US diplomacy based on whether Snowdon is returned to the US ?"
Where is you evidence for such a sweeping statement? Your opinion should remain as such.
Your handle describes you well
B) Obama expresses strong disapproval and the Justice Department throws an Espionage Act indictment at Snowden
Snowden was right to out wrongs, but legally it is espionage.
C) Obama comes out and says "We want to arrest Snowden, but we aren't going to do anything extraordinary like scramble fighter jets to get him"
Very considered opinion. It would be a huge waste of time and money to potentially start a war by "scrambling fighter jets" to retrieve one man.
E) Obama intervenes personally to defeat an amendment to a military spending bill to prevent the defunding of NSA bulk gathering of American's phone records. First, it's extremely rare for any President to intervene to defeat an amendment to a bill in Congress. Second, this amendment does not affect any other NSA programs OTHER THAN BULK TELECOMMUNICATIONS GATHERING IN THE U.S. It doesn't affect "non-bulk" gathering of telecoms data on Americans who are specifically under investigation. It doesn't affect telecoms intercepts of any of the 6 billion people who live outside the U.S. It doesn't affect any internet traffic or email gathering programs anywhere in the world. The amendment in question just defunds any efforts to gather telecoms data on American residents without probable cause.
As much as I hate it, intelligence gathering is important to defend against those who wish to harm us. Obama is not to blame. Those who wish to harm us are.
F) President Obama cancels a summit with Russia. Not because they are selling arms so that the Syrian government can bomb their own people.
'Merica ain't the wrolds police force. Your lame argument could apply to the UK and any other country who is sitting back and watching other countries "selling arms so that the Syrian government can bomb their own people."
Your other points are null and void.
And I am not a fan of Russia under Putin. I don't see a need to mobilize 100 army divisions to contain them, but I'm pretty certain that Russia under Putin is at best a "frenemy" to every nation in NATO or the EU. But are we going to let the granting of asylum to one guy drive our relationship with Russia?"
This is just confilicted nonsense.
W O W!
Way to go Russia. You have managed to persuade the rest of the world that your country has not moved forward and that you seem to be stuck in the very distant past in one fell swoop!
Well done! Hitler would be proud.
Re: Simple. If it can connect to the net, it is subject to the law.
"If it can connect to the internet in any way, then it's a Communications Device, and needs to be Accessable.<br>Full Stop.<br>End of story.<p>
If it can't connect to the internet, it *still* needs to be Accessable, otherwise you are *specificly* telling the +10Million American's & +300Million Global Blind/Visually Impaired people to go fuck themselves.<br>"
Rubbish! Not every *thing* needs to be made accessible.
Society is not being disriminatory. Society helps as much as it can and has compassion for those with disability issues.
It just does not make sense to waste time and money on making every *thing* suitable for disabled users when they can/are already catered for.
This is just common sense so your childish rant, this one, "There's 300Million of us whom will either Thank You Profusely & reward you with our money, or (if you don't) consider you an absolute scum sucking bunghole that deserves 300Million ass kickings.<br>" can go back to where it came from. I would suggest and brown and smelly place where the sun dont shine.
Re: Here's what's going to happen next:
"replace them with responsible mothers."
Do you live in Narnia? It's not what I see and read everyday. If mothers are so responsible, explain the growing number of kids needing adoption/fostering? Explain the growing social drepevation in th UK. Sorry mate, you seem bind to me.
"There should also be an 'opt-in' option to activate the camera in any case, and an age restriction on it's use"
If these mothers were so responsbile they would already have activated these feature BEFORE giving thier liitle treasure a totally unrestricted mobile phone.
I had the frank talk with my kids, the talk most parents are too frightened to give. They were told about peer pressure and not to fall into the "popularity" trap, they were told about sex and how they would be pressured and persuaded into it.
I can only give them my experience and hope that they are strong enough to heed it and not listen to the complete claptrap they will be bombarded with from others on a daily/hourly basis.
Re: Some Education
Your skewed sense of morality is unsurprising and harmful.
when grow up maybe you will understand.
peer pressure is just that.
if you are going to sell your soul because your mates tell you too, you have lessons to learn.
Re: Some Education
"Are you stupid or are you deliberately being thick?
People with low self esteem, not all of them, will do anything to get positive feedback from others regarding themselves. They will often take a photo (or worse) to the person showing interest in a way to keep the interest. It's hard to explain, but I've seen it happen and known it happen. The worst case I know of was of a student who had let her boyfriend film her doing a specific act upon his person, which was then distributed to his friends when they broke up. She was 17, and did it because she felt she could trust the boyfriend and make him love her more.
So, instead of living in the same deluded pretentious place that Claire Perry and that Godfrey Bloom reside in and join the real world, where unreal pressures are put on our young people for them to conform and be accepted by any means that they feel is possible."
Retarded! Usual bull from the inexperienced. Nicely supported by " It's hard to explain, but I've seen it happen and known it happen". Grow up son.
"Or will he legislate that phones should recognise naughty bits and refuse to take the photo? THINK OF THE CHILDREN!"
Probably, once he's had another ears bashing from the all knowing Mums Net! (Or hit list for social services as I call them)
I'd suggest YOU are going to the wrong pubs!
"You also have to remember that people with low self esteem (both men and women) will send a person compromising photos of themselves"
This is complete and utter bullshite!
I'd suggest that you would have to be happy with your body to send naked pic of yourself to someone.
There is nothing wrong with it. It is completely natural.
HUMANS ARE SEXUALLY PROMISCOUS!!
Re: Out of left field...
"If I find out learning morse code is actually harder than I thought then I retract all previous statements."
Men are not allowed to! You chose your folly, stick to it!
Re: Out of left field...
"One thing I'd love to see is a morse code app for smart-watches so that incoming emails/SMSes from nominated sources (spouse/close friends/boss) can be 'vibrated' into your wrist.
With practice you could feel messages without having to hold the watch up to your face or painfully reach for your mobile. Great for meetings, driving, 'on the job', covert work etc.
Please note that I don't know morse code though I'm willing to learn for this very purpose!"
I suspect your one of, oh, 100's worldwide!
Wearable tech, SNNOOOOOOZZZZE.
Wake me when its small enough to implant.
"The market is starting to look crowded with - among others - Apple's iWatch, Microsoft's Surface Watch and now Samsung's Galaxy Gear."
You can't move for 3 competitors watches!
Apple clutching at straws!
You tell me which consumers need a projector? The odd (and I mean that in both contexts) businessman.
Mind you the Apple marketing team turned the iFolly into something desireable for a very limited set of "people" (unless it's 'merica we're talking about, we all know how much of a MUG they are). Maybe they can make a pico projector fashionable?
"One might argue that Orange and SFR should be allowed to offer free calls within their own networks. "
Of course they should. Anti-competative my arse. The complainers are gutted because they can't mtach the offer. Preventing free calls is hardly good for the consumer who the law should be protecting.
released now, just as RRAM is to make its entrance.
"But Zuck doesn't care about you. He cares about his advertisers.
THEY are his clients.
YOU are his bitch product."
Well said sir, up vote for that!
My integrity is not for sale.
Thankfully on 1/2 of british adults have a fakebook account.
It makes it easier to spot fake people from real people!
Like the iFolly, "people" will get bored of it and maybe actually meet with real people and not the fake fuckers on fakebook.
"Apple TV is a much more polished and complete product and Android users will feel like poor cousins in comparison."
You can crawl out your ass now, it's 2013! Apple TV was just a nightmareish folly.
It's all fluff compared to a fully featured PC on your telly.
Tax avoidance/Evasion is corrpution to the maximum.
I'm better than that. You can't buy my integrity. It's worht more than anyone could provide.
Shame the scummy "people" out there have yet to learn that lesson. Scum.
