waste of time reading this article

prices are out of date - lots of decent and reasonably priced options missing. I find this article poorly researched and I don't believe the author spent much time with any of these devices (if at all).

I have 4 round the house, two of which are in this list (numbers 2 and 3, the Canton and Maxell) and I don't really agree with much said about either (apart from the Maxell being a bargain)

Where is the Cambridge TV2 for example? Where are the lower priced Yamaha kits?

The Maxell SB-3000 can be had for well under £200 inc delivery and is far better than this review suggests. It is really wide though and won't sit on most peoples tv stands (mine sits on a long sideboard) and not suitable for those who put their TV in the "corner".

I currently use a (now outdated) Pipo M9 Pro for that.

Something like a Cube Talk 9X is a good choice for about £130 - (16gb version from geekbuying is about that I think) for a decent built tablet with 3g + GPS.

Something like a Cube Talk 9x would be suitable, you can get the 16gb version from places like geekbuying for about £130.

I currently use a (now outdated) Pipo M9Pro 3g for such dutites

Really?

I am, for the first time, horrified by an article on the Reg.

The group of products tested is a real mish-mash and has missed so many key choices in this field.

The technical content in this article is poor at best and I'm inclined to believe that the originator has no real knowledge of these devices at all - it would honestly suprise me to find out that they had any hands on time with the units.

Poorly researched, poorly written and not informative or useful in any way. Complete waste of my time - not what I have come to expect from the reg. Please do better.
