WTF!? The US government bans a plastic gun that is probably less of a danger than piece of sawn timber with a nail in it. Yet you can pop down to the shops and buy a REAL gun if you can wait a few days?!?!?!
Sometimes I feel really sorry for Americans because it must be bloody embarrassing to have people like this running your country!
Probably DirectX issues...
How did I know that the comments section would be filled with drivel of this calibre? No one bothered to ask the most important question of all!
Will it run Crysis?
The problem with Sony is that they always seem to be a good few years behind the competition, they used to be on top during the Ps1 and Ps2 years but it's all just gone down hill from there. People were gagging for a portable playstation and Sony said no "we don't do that!" nintendo release the DS and boom Sony have a change of mind, far too late!
People have been gagging for a phone to play PS1 games, again Sony say no "we don't do that", the mobile gaming market starts up and sony rush a crapy half baked phone. Now the market is HUGE and still nothing from Sony!
Im seriously suspicious that my dad runs Sony as these are all the rubbish decisions a grumpy old man would make! My dad once told me that "video games are just a fad!"
Re: i dont get it
Too bloody right, no doubt she has an hour wait regardless of which way she is going (boarding time, waiting for staff to steal your luggage)
If it's advertising and they are promoting there specials then doesn't it actually defeat the point of specials as the shop'ee is no longer going into the shop to buy over priced tat by mistake... Who get's off the plain and goes, "OMFGpop we need to get pickle as we have none at home Lolcats!?!?!"??? Who are these people????
Fingers crossed they don't brick it! How embarrassing would that be when the aliens arrive? Brand new bit of kit on mars bricked trying to upgrade to cyanogenmod 12!
Re: NUKES IN SPACE!!?!
Bit too late for that now, we've sent loads of em before! Probably more in space then we have on land back home lol
Re: I'll be damned...
Is this the same committee of Lords that decided we move to digital TV only a few years ago???? The rest of the world must assume we have far too much cash for our own good! Should have just done this from square one and saved a bit of cash no?
On the SNES??? Surely the arcade version was where it was at??? How much money did I spend trying to finish this game only to be presented with a picture and a few cheesy lines of text??? And people complain about Mass Effects ending? Back in my day...
Re: Here we go again...
Thank you so much for saving me a few mins and putting my exact thoughts to "paper", I wonder how many "thin" people happened to be drug users too... Surely if you are going to start removing sample data (diabetics as an example) then why not remove drug users, alchoholics etc. Also how do these thin people die? Does every fat person die of a heart attack but the thinnies are all dieying of old ages becasue it just so happens that 90% of the thin cohort are all over 90?
Re: Screw the knights
Total agree, Tie Fighter was far better than X-wing. X-wing always made it feel like it was you and your co-pilot against an entire army of Tie's whilest in Tie Fighter that was you!
Also no mention of Battlefront???? Battlefront 2 was the best starwars game ever! It had everything!!! There is nothing better than taking out an entire army with an AT-AT walker!
Worst article ever! Not the writers fault but lets face facts here it's a bit like a roundup of "hot" ladies that must at all times have a bag over the heads because it looks like they have been bobbing for apples in a deep fat fryer!
I have given up waiting for a top notch QWERTY phone and gone for the galaxy note, who wants to buy a phone that is already 2 years out of date? It's a shame the Droid/milestone 4 never made it to europe, at least Motorola tried... :(
Maybe Sony will release an update to the xperia mini but I wont hold my breath, we are all sheep buying what ever is tossed our way, I know I did lol!
lol what Motorola phones? Seems there is a lack of anything coming out from motorola, the US get the droid 4, droid RAZR MAXX and all we get is a crapy watch :(
I want a mileston 4 or even better 5! Still wouldn't buy the watch doohicky thing, will install android pedometer instead.
I did read the article, I didn't specify any kind of actual content, current or archived.
My real beef here is that the BBC have the time and money to come up with a better solution than making people pay for something twice, it may only be archived data now but where will it end? People would complain about the use of payed for advertising within iplayer but why are they not selling all of the iplayer content abroad?
Why is it that joe public becomes the first target?
So in the future everyone carries a few snails in there pockets to charge mobiles etc... Does that mean we will also have to put up with those snail trails that look an awefully lot like gizz stains?
I think I'll stick to charging at home... Boom, BOOM!
Why not make a phone with two touchscreens, one where the flip out keyboard would be and then the main screen. The keyboard touchscreen could look like anything, a keyboard or any of the current game console pads?
The Motorola Raxr is pretty thin, could you imagine two of those or more so one and a half... You could squeeze in 2 batteries, quad core 1.2Ghz and it would only be 14mm thick.
A beast of a phone i would defo buy!
So if we believe that mobile gaiming will increase year on year then why do we keep moving away from phones with tactile input? Seriously, MWC has been on for a week now and not one flip out QWERTY...
Europe may see the Droid 4 in a few months time but it isn't a great phone and is already old hat! It almost feels like we are being pushed in one direction when as the article states we should be moving in the other. Why so much touch screen when there is much more money to be made in people playing games on there phones?
Some company needs to get a high spec phone, large battery and a flip out QWERTY and Im sure we will have a game changer on our hands...
Well a little part of me died inside reading that list! I have to wonder who's these voters are and in what mentle state to boot! How does portal 2 fall so far down the list??? Does nobody remember the ending to Monkey Island 2?!?!?! What is wrong with everyone in this crazy place!!!!!???? AAaaaargh!
I wonder what would happen if said hacker individual or community came out and said "we will make all data accessable unless Sony opens up the PS3", Sony would obviously say no but at the expense of making everyone unhappy?
Anyone think Sony would cave? Just putting the question out there... BOOM!
" If not, then how about remaking THX-1138?"
He already did, the copy I bought last year has been CGI'd to the max! not that there was much to add really... perhaps a THX-1137 needs to be released as a prequel, maybe add some comedy to the mix... someone with big ears and an annoying voice? I making gold right here BABY!
Also I REALLY hope George isn't reading this post :( If you are George then... It's a joke right, It would suck big time so stop thinking about it!
Diesel submerines don't sit on the surface with snorkel pocking out 24/7, the engine will be used to charge the giant batteries every now and then i.e when safe to do so. If a threat is detected the sub turns off eangines and goes silent, surely an unmanned sub would make even less noise as it doesn't need to filter air, cook dinner etc...
The title is required, and must contain letters and/or fingers.
It makes me a bit sick to think in some way I may be defending the Sun but they did mention Nintendo's response in their article, I would personally like to see some numbers as a statement from Game saying "We havent refunded any 3DS's" makes me wonder if what they meant to say was "if you want a refund, JOG ON!"
I can't believe the 3DS is that bad, these people are probably the same that said Doom made them sick as it was too real!?!?! lol
The title is required, and must contain letters and/or digits.
70% is far too nice a score for this game, after playing it I dug out my copy of BFBC2 and had a game. It plays so much better!
Playing Homefront makes you realise why they did not release a demo first, shame on you THQ!
For democracy! Oh and by democracy I mean the right to buy anything evin if it includes the right to others personal details...?
The title is required, and must contain letters and/or digits.
As in previouse posts regarding the automotive example, the same could be said about cars. Most cars (even older models) will have a form of "OS" this could also be said to be licensed out to the user including all the other bits that ford has had to licence out on your behalf to build the car. The difference being that changing your cars engine etc doesn't really effect Ford as they have made their money on the sale.
Sony however rely on the sale of highly inflated game prices to cover the cost of a machine that is "too expensive to make a profit on", this isn't a surpise to Sony, the only surprise should be that it took this long to hack the machine! You don't see Ford producing a car that runs on gold and then complaining when people change it for a petrol engine!
The games industry is slowly turning into that of the music industry, outdated sales model with no thought on the future, the xbox was hacked ages ago and I don't see a drop in games being made for that console... Offer people xbox live and perhaps introduce a "VIP" pass as EA have used and you're onto a winner, don't make your customers into criminals!!!
We should just all be glad it wasn't a GDI Ion Cannon!
Not even a mention of Bad Company 2? How lame is that, the game is brilliant and shows what COD should be doing what with the destructable buildings. Wow now I can't wait to get home and blow something up! ;)
As long as most of the throttling is only done during peek times Im ok with this, I would much rather be able to have a good xbox live connection during peek hours and then p2p over night. I live down in the South West so to be fair any kind of throttling will just bring it in line with that of other providers in the area, another point would be that the true bottle neck is that of the peers in the swarm, I have only seen close to 10mb in the past and that was off a fast server no doubt... Still though for us farmers down in Devon it's a miles better than broadband over phone lines, a friend down the road was getting 0.25kb?!?!?!
What a bellend! This "scientist" should be forced to watch The Lawnmower Man over and over for the rest of his life! Hell he probably thinks it's a documentary!!!!
People like this need to be put down!
So living in the uk means about 80% of our house are "zero energy"? Well, well, well I never! Time to lower car tax then.
Re: Re: Sad, sad times.
My point is not to condone the "Two wrongs make a right" but to rather ask why this position has been created.
Why when the games industry are trying to promote internet sales of there games and move away from physical media is the record industry doing the exact opposite? Especially when in my above example we know that in most cases said teenager probably can't offord the music he/she downloads and wouldn't buy the music anyways...
Sad, sad times.
It's a sad day for media as a whole, stealing is bad and yes piracy is a form of stealing but when I hear stroies about the gaming industries attempts to move more towards an online form of game sales, even to a point where these games companies are talking about streaming games over the internet in the near future... I think to myself, why has the games industry gone from zero profit to that of a multibillion pound industry while all the music industry has done is move from tape to cd?!?!?!
Even the move from tape to CD was driven by another market i.e that of computing!
What annoys me even more is when, the musicians backing the music industries are clearly clueless and dont realise that the music industry is stealing alot more from them than what the average teenager is doing in his bedroom. I download movies and music too, I do so becasue the music I listen I am just unable to buy on CD, I don't download music I can buy in shops and more so grab music from radio shows etc. In no ways will I start to buy music now, instead I will just start listening to the music I can get for free from unsigned bands etc. The movies I download I always purchase, unless the movie is garbage! Now that I can't download I shall just be missing loads of movies I wasn't aware existed. I downloaded a copy of the new Sherlock Holmes, I enjoyed it and will defo by buying the DVD or even the Blue-Ray when it comes out, had I not downloaded it I would have assumed that it was awefull based on my pre-consptions I extrapolated by watching the trailer.
Oh how I get miffed reading about the experiences with phone companies, it's far too easy for them to screw us around and such a mission for us the average joe to fix it all when they do! These companies should be forced to pay a huge penalty for these cockups! Giving someone a bad credit rating should be dealt with by a massive fine in favour of the persons life who will no doubt be screwed thanks to said black mark!
I have recently been having problems with one of these companies, I signed up for a contract and then they managed to loose my credit details and over a period of days money was taken from my account, lucky for me HSBC were on the ball and managed to stop most of the transactions but do you know how hard it has been to get back the money that did go missing?!?! Aaaargh
It's as if the process is designed to be complicated and endless just so people give up in the end!
I would just like to point out that again our government has let us down and forced us down a route we shouldn't have gone, it has been obvious for some years now that the future was not DAB or DVB but is instead AV streamed over the net. Millions have been poured into DAB and DVB while we the public de Gen sit around and watch our money get poured down the drain!
The government is trying to get the digital communist bill through parliment without actually looking into the future impact! It annoys me to see ideas like this, an add driven web streaming platform no doubt be battered about due to piracy laws being impossed! Look at project Kangeroo or whatever it was going to be called, we get told it is anti competative to have one provided so instead our tv licence goes up and channel 4 fork out loads of there budget so we can waste more of our time signing up to yet another online broadcast! aaaaargh!
