No new strings for Guitar Hero

shame

I'm only an occasional gamer - as someone fast approaching 40 I don't have time for COD and all that malarkey - and really enjoy GH and Rock band. GH has a much better interface but Rock Band continually updates and adds new songs in the music store, so there's plenty of new stuff to download.

"Pwllheli and surrounding areas"

...which includes Abersoch, which is now the rich boys playground.

One a great little village where you could get away for a quiet weekend and enjoy the surroundings, maybe get in a bit of sailing. Now the main street is bumper to bumper of rich kids with convertibles parked on the double yellows, and the water full of speedboats and jet skis.

I stopped going when people started turning up for the weekend in helicopters and microlights.

Co-incidence that this area has been chosen?

Flikr Vs own domain hosting

I don't use Flikr but I do have a lot of photos online. They're in www.mydomain.com/photos/<various folders>

If my hoster ever screwed up or I changed, so long as I kept the domain active surely it would be very easy to restore the pictures and the links out there across the world wouldn't be broken?

K.I.S.S.

I'm afraid I may be a dying breed, but I prefer my telly to just be decent quality, have a good picture and plenty of ports, so that I can choose myself what features I want it to do. I don't need built in Freeview (already have cable and a Humax Freeview recorder), and my games console can do the media centre business.

South Yorks police leads UK in use of ANPR cameras

andy gibson

@AC - ANPR isn't "useless"

Try going into any of the Mersey Tunnels with an untaxed, untested or uninsured car.

By the time you get to the other end the police are waiting for you.

ANPR works - its just the time delay between capturing on camera and intercepting that's the problem.

To those who don't have kids or work in Education

Maybe you should STFU and go back to your Daily Mail. You obviously know nothing judging by your rants and lack of first hand knowledge on the subject.

So stop being armchair "experts" and only come back with an opinion if either of the two options in the title apply to you.

I could go on about how fingerprinting saves a huge amount of time and money, and how you're more than welcome to have a browse through our school's lost property box and see the amount of expensive clothes and other items never get collected, and how many pupils need special "loans" to buy lunch because they've lost their money (or spent it on sweets on the way into school) but I simply can't be bothered.

Brits blow millions on over-priced ink

andy gibson

@Subban - B&W laser printer

Go one further a get a second hand laser. Buying a new one means there is less likely to be compatible toner carts available. The entry level HP laserjet doesn't for example or didn't last month when I needed a toner.

But as with inks, there are good and bad suppliers of compatible toners. One company, who I won't name, sold me toners which leaked all over the printer. Another's quality is excellent and not a speck has been leaked.

But if you research your history you'll find that *Labour* education secretary Ted Short started scrapping milk in schools in 1968.

As for the mines, UK coal mining was already in trouble because there was too much sulphur in the coal. European emission regulations meant that coal with a lower sulphur value was needed - and that was from overseas. So, blame geology and the dinosaurs.

As for all the dancing on her grave and funeral "jokes", pretty pathetic IMO.
