Most people don't care what resolution its broadcast in. They have a 4k telly so think they are watching 4k. Like how people thought an HD telly magically made all broadcasts HD.....

I love sony phones. Decent spec, long lasting, and they look good. Dont understand why people buy samsung plastic tat, when they could get a better specced sony for the same, or less. sheeple huh?
"This was an illegal theft of data"
Rather than a legal theft of data?
heard you the 1st time. Although you seem less cowardly this time around.......
its definitly not broadcast like that. Some people dont like black bars down the side of programmes, so are happy to have ridiculously mis-proportioned people on screen. Persoanlly i think its daft. And dont get me started on on contrast...... sweet jesus some peoples TV's look as if all the actors have set there tanning boothsto the "dale winton" setting
The hip and the music ass of murica should just issue a licence. 20 bucks a month and you can download any music any where. Job done.
cosmetic dr's and surgeons terrify me
They are always so calm about inserting metal/plastic into places that it dont belong, for spurious reasons. What happend to do no harm?
how does an opt out work with this?
surely if i wear a mask while walking into a petrol station i will get arrested?
My dads got one of these things. The sound is pretty good, but it really should have had wifi, to stream from net or network. Without that function its a bit limited really.
the wii was a happy accident
Nintendo was in huge trouble before the wii came along and filled their coffers. No surprise that when the wii stopped selling ninty went back to being in trouble.
I can see the point
Im very sensitive to certain perfumes, i go into sneezing fits that can last upto an hour. My throat tightens and my eyes stream all becuase someone wants to smell "nice". Its not an allargy i can avoid, like nuts or gluten, as by the time i realise what the person is wearing its far too late.
Re: I don't get laptops
my main reservation would be the mrs realising that i dont need my own room, and converting my den into a flowery spare room. Where would i go to play with my toys and hide from the family while pretending to be working on a high priority project?
power source will be a amassive problem for these
There is a reason Tony Stark uses a fictional ARC reactor; the power needs for a suit of power armour is massive. Without a very effecient, and small battery these suits are going to very limited in range: the length of the power cord. I wonder what sort of plug they will use? Or will the just carry an adapter for all the oil rich countries?
Ive condisered this before:
I wear contacts. But the risk isnt worth it. For the benefit of not having to pop a small plastic disc in my eye each morning, i get to have a procedure that could leave me blind. No thank you. Good luck to all that have had it done, and plan too. But its not for me.
one of the reasons HD took off so quicklywas the ps3 and a lesser extent the xbox. Game geeks wanted to see the much better graphics offered by the then next gen consoles. The ps4 and the xbone arnt offering 4k visuals, so i cant see a lot of people upgrading there sets till the ps5 or the xbox destiny (or what ever silly moniker they use, actually i might trademark that name....)
"but it's just a teeny bit disingenuous to write off all MS hardware projects as epic fails."
not really. Except the xbox, name me a MS hardware project that works brilliantly?
Infact even the Xbox is a failure: they spent billions buying market share, and so far, according to everyones best guess, still havnt made any profit from it. Everyone that bought a 360 has had mutliples due to the RROD issue, mostly at Microsofts expense.
MS suck balls when it comes to hardware. Oh sorry, i loved my 1996 sidewinder joystick. I killed a lot of rebel scum with it. But i dont think one ancient joystick saves MS's perpetual hardware cock ups
edit: now i think about it that joystick lasted about 6m before it died.....
Re: Note to travelers
could you not just use them inside out?
Re: It's a classic paradigm shift. Microsoft are ......
re the Xphone
It would poisen the xbox brand. And the xbox brand is shakey enough without dumping a failing and unloved mobile OS on to it.
and we should probably let them.
What do you mean? Embiggens is a very kromulent word.
streaming from personal storage...
...is key. As soon as i can stream from bubble upnp or mx player, im having a few of these.
its all over facebook as well
Morons putting pictures of ordinary spiders and proclaiming the end of the world. One chap moved his entire family out, and into a hotel. Turns out they were house spiders.....
And another reason why nuclear should be used.
I think the problem would be that robots wouldnt be able, even with cameras and controllers back on earth, to make habitats without people being there to ensure saftey and sustainablity. There is only so much info you can get from a TV screen.
Re: Google arnt stealing my data...
Dont worry i know exactly what i give up to use google and there spiders web of services. And i think its worth it. Ads dont bother me, profiling dosent bother me, looking at my emails for keywords dosent bother me, i dont care if they know where i live and what adult entertainment i enjoy or what i eat for supper. I understand why it would for some people, and as soon as it bothers me, i will give them the heave ho, no matter how painful. But googles "free" services are among the best in the business, and suit me perfectly.
Google arnt stealing my data...
Im giving it to them willingly. In return they give the best internet search engine, a very good mobile OS, a great browser, and a tremendous cloud storage solution. Plus as a bonus they allow me to buy amazingly specced mobile phones, and tablets for very cheap prices.
THe market for these are tiny....
Not many people wear watches, but of those that do how many are geeky enough to want a smartwatch? Not many id wager.
As someone mentioned earlier, smart watches need a killer app. Without it the market is limited to geeky 60+ year olds......
Re: Microsoft account needed for Facebook? ??
Because its microsoft.
THe same people that still wont allow you to drag and drop onto the task bar, even tho we've been trying to do it for years...
Re: Robots of renown
"Anyway, what about Huey Dewey and Louie in Silent Running?
Does the robotic bomb in Dark Star count?"
no, no, no, and no as they arnt tv based.
T-bob from Mask would. As would the Transformers, Gobots, and the little red dude from jayce and the wheeled warriors
Rise of the machines....
A.I. with robots will happen, sooner rather than later. Having a sentiant and inteligent machine is the ultimate User Interface. As a kid i never understood why C3PO would have been proggramed to have a personality, but now i realise its to make telling it what to do easier. Instead of having to click an icon, and programmme a set of actions, you could simply tell it what you want.
I dont think however that we have anthing to worry about machines rising up, its simply a great plot device. As the robotic A.I.s creators we can ensure they enjoy what ever job they have, and would never consider anything else.
Re: selfies are frickin OLD.
show them the sony erricson phones, from 15 years ago, that had a small mirror next to the camera, so you could see yourself taking selfies. that should blow there tiny minds!
the word "jamp" added to the dictionary. I cant see any reason why it isnt a word. It works perfectly well.
Re: I'm not having any issues
i find thier phones cheaply built. But also expensive. I think there rise to prominance was a combination of the galaxy s2, which for the time, was amazing and keenly prised and there sponsership of chealski football club.
There TV's are pretty damn good however.
Out of 1 million units sold, there will of course be a few thousand that brake. This isnt really news.
Re: Indeed, Sorry But…
No it cant. No PC is going to be able to replace a top end amp. Yes freeview is easy. A blu ray player is easy to fit. But you need that big black box to get the best from DTS HD.
im stunned that MS dont already own them. The kinect seems rather important to the xbone.
Re: Perhaps some reclassification required
if we are going to only eat dumb animals say goodbye to bacon sandwiches.
Re: At some point, in the not too distant future
+ a million. I want to pay but they won't take my money
Re: Usual Reg crap journalism
as far as im aware, he also cant play single player games either. thats the reason for the hooting
Re: Why on earth did he even try to use it?
+1. He could have sold it for thousands.
Re: This news has cheered me up this evening
I concur. I definitly wouldnt sell my virtually worthless app for 10% of 3 billion. no sirree bob.
it only does everything
Is the main reason that i love my PS3. Its my one stop shop for media playback, and games. Its the beating heart of my living room. And until the news broke that the ps4 cant do the media stuff, i was set to buy one. Not now tho. Ill stick with the ps3.
Re: Are they going to change the name in Europe?
Re: "single price discount retailer"
ive noticed that too. I used to think there milk was great value, but its 1.3 litres, rather than 2. not so good value.
Re: Agree, good
oh i agree too, i always switch off my phone and remove my watch when i enter a vehicle. Infact i remove my trousers too, dont need them while driving....
that would kill the idea that BB is secure in about the time it takes zuck to say bitch
I thought this was the reg? Why wouldnt you want a wearable heads-up display, connected to the vast knowledge of the web? Id have one implanted into my eye if i could. I thought this was a site for IT geeks and dreamers. Instead some of you are moaning about not having your picture taken, like shy tweens, or suspicous tribesmen. What is wrong with you?
software is great
i played with the q5 and apart from the rather cheapy biuld, and the ludicrous pricxe i really liked it. But knew at that point, that i and quite probably noone else would ever buy one.
BB were about 3 or 4 years too late.
this sounds ropey. far as im aware drives have come down regularly in price.....maybe too regularly?
its too early in the morning. is this a serious article about gold growing on trees? or is it about data miners finding "gold" from digging around old data? or both? or neither? gah, must find coffee.
