Razer uncages Core i7, GeForce megaslab for hardcore gamers

Mushroom

Expensive, but at least it'll heat your house too.

How much heat will this thing generate?? As Larry mentioned below, it's gonna run pretty hot, and what kind of cooling can they shoehorn into a tablet? Or are those add-on outboard handles mainly intended to prevent melted hands while playing?

Ebuyer knocked out by own £1 deals site

FAIL

Looks like it's slowly coming back to life

Probably because most people have given up, or seen that the majority of deals are not all that exciting. Best deal 'this hour' is a Hayes Accura 56k card modem, reduced from £33 to £1. One can't help feeling they wouldn't have had people beating a path to their door to pay £33 for that... Initial anticipation of bargain waned to offhand interest. BIG fail in my view.

Radiation TERROR on Scottish beach! Except it's quite safe

Think you're both right

SEPA have given MoD until Feb to come up with a plan to clean up the beach, AND part of the beach has been cordoned off 'for further investigations'. I don't think anybody is saying this is a huge risk now - just that there is a risk of increased risk! Sounds to me like all the hyperbolae is coming from jumped-up people wanting to make a name for themselves.

So, Lewis (of whom I am a huge fan generally, it must be said) is partly right, and I did find the article enlightening.

WTF?

Who put this presentation together??

The images are REALLY bad, and give the impression it has been put together by a 4-year-old. When the guy said 'this will probably take a while' (around 2m35s), and a crappy image of an old alarm clock appeared, I lost the ability to take it seriously.

Suggest it would have been better as an audio-only presentation, as this demonstrates neatly that there are times when no pictures are better than the wrong ones.

WTF?

Ridiculous

Quote from UK IPO:

Your invention must have an inventive step that is not obvious to someone with knowledge and experience in the subject

What's inventive about this?? Now, I wonder if we can get a petition going (ideally initiated through Google+) to get this thing rescinded...

Cops back in on BT/Phorm case

WTF?

There's a case to answer anyway

'No criminal intent'? That's only one part of the test. If I pass a speed camera doing 75mph in a 60 zone, I'll still be found guilty of the offence, even if I didn't mean to speed. What about recklessness or criminal negligence?

Besides, the simple principle of individuals having control over their own personal information is being eroded quite quickly enough without these Machiavellian clowns having a go too! I hope the civil case is successful - start to put a few warning shots over the bows of companies seeking to profit by making our lives harder to manage.

And this is why cheques should not be phased out.

Well done that man - the £25 admin fee is a stroke of genius. If this guy runs for parliament, there's a good chance he'll get in, and should probably be prime minister!
