Got mine, order went through eventually. Make sure your Wallet account is up to date with delivery addresses and credit cards.

Most people I've seen on planes think putting iDevices in standby is powering them off.

Software update coming

A new software update should be available OTA from 18-20th Oct. with "Various issues and features updated (new download) " but overall this is a great box and you can get a 1TB drive option of you record a lot.

Or download it now

Follow the instructions here: http://androidforums.com/nexus-one/41504-how-force-2-2-2010-ota-update.html

"pinch to zoom" works really well, a great update from Google.

Stuck in an 18 month contract

Customers won't be feeling much pain now, but already Google are releasing apps that only run on 1.6 or above (e.g. Goggles and Navigation). In a few months, the majority of Android phones will be running newer versions, and Galaxy users will be left behind, with quite a few months left on their contract. Who will continue to develop apps for an old version when they can write it in the latest one?

coat - I'm off to get a NexusOne when launched.

Galaxy

Got a Galaxy?

"Samsung HQ are currently not supporting a migration path to upgrade Galaxy to Android 2.0. Samsung UK continue to push for this but confidence on the change is low as Samsung HQ will be launching new devices on Android 2.0 in Q1."

From O2, today.

Will they support it?

Having bought the Samsung Galaxy and experiencing Samsungs lack of continued support ("we cannot confirm weather there will be an update for this model") I'll never buy another Samsung, as this seems to be the norm for their products.

Coat - I'm off to get a HTC Bravo when released.
