What does this mean for IT?
As an inexperienced sysadmin i dont know if this is good or bad for IT job ecosystem. Yes it means companies will need an IT guy but it also means usability will go down. I find IT moving so fast but in different directions. The majority bound by Microsoft's grip and this backwards and forwards motion (depending how you see directions) between UI and Powershell.
I still dont think it looks as good as 2010....
Learn to swing an axe properly!
Is El Reg buying?
either a cb radio or mobile phone would probably be better.
I know you shouldn't have to but, root and boot US stock image its dead easy!
PayPal = useless
I remember speaking to a paypal representative who briefly said "ah i see your paypal has been hacked before" i responded "What? When?" after that i was conveniently cut off when i rang back i was told they knew nothing about it by someone else. WTF seriously i wouldnt trust them with anything other than buying small things off ebay and i certainly wouldnt actually rely on them for anything like a core business system.
Wow bad time to pick this to read whilst eating my lunch!
So long as you use management services and not configuration manager!
Not out of the wood yet though......
Comment of the day
"Engineer that, Mountain View!". Thanks Kelly!!
i wouldnt say everyone is a genius if Rush Limbaugh is reading!
I bought an app called traintimes way back with the first gen iphone, shortly after i noticed you couldnt buy it anymore, then all the other apps that get train times for you started to disappear. Eventually they brought out an official train times app from the nation railway. so basically they pushed everyone else out in order to put their own app there and charge 499p for the pleasure. If they are going to push everyone else out then they can give us the information for free! As usual they want their big fat cake and to shovel it down at the same time.
I thought Jobs was wanting to push into the arena of on demand TV? Besides which i really cant see Jobs blowing all his cash in one swoop.
Rich get richer, poor get poorer.
But basic users will want ease of use and i still think MS out performs on this point.
Im my opinion i dont really think OpenOffice is good on the business scale im sure a lot of you would beg to differ but MS does a good job targeting the business market. average joe is a different matter more bothered on price. Whenever i have come across people its oh i dont really want to pay for it what can i get, and OpenOffice fills that void. The business market has need that not all open software meets because of the nature of being open and for that matter i cant see it ever overtaking office. I might be completely wrong but thats my personal take!
Anyone know what the grey layers are on the diagram?
Ok so im just starting out as a programmer, do i learn WPF or do i not?!?!?
Nice to see that on only 17 complaints from which included rival companies that they start an investigation, i wonder how many average joe complaints it would have taken to do something about it...
It went on because they kept stealing more sim cards. use a sim for a month, rack up the bill until cut off, get a new sim, carry on.....
man good luck like that never happens to me!
basic human right = NO!
I honestly hate it when people blame ignorance as a basic human right. I would say having the right to not be harassed by messages is more of a human right than to have internet access. If they cant sort it out boot them from it! im sure self respecting Latvian's will find another ISP that is willing to sort itself out.
Vodafone strikes again!
Us Nexus One users had a similarly raw deal when Froyo first entered service. You would think that froyo should have been rolled out to ALL Nexus One owners but vodafone wanted changes made so it wasnt rolled out for another few weeks!
Google want to have serious words with Vodafone, after all they are the chosen premium carrier to promote the Android phones, and to be perfectly honest Vodafone are absolutely destroying it for European customers.
Get your angry comments ready for when Gingerbread arrives people!
Vodafone = poop
Yay, at last i can own a thumb drive to go on my key ring. My poor Sandisk Titanium that currently sits on my keyring is a thing of the past!
Looks like im taking a course in how to empty bins....
Reg, i like the way that after you found someone using your phrase Judasphone you started to trade mark phrases like Gap of Doom. Lol cheered up a miserable day!!
Cant wait to see that!
Wow i seriously cant wait to see how ios4 and android 2.2 get on side by side. I will be disappointed if froyo doesnt wipe the floor with it!
No i would prefer to see them work with the manufacturers to release kit the same time as transmissions start. it seems to me they just forgot to work with manufacturers, and who does that remind you of? It makes absolutely no odds at all whether its the other way round it is still useless either way.
There is no point transmitting signals unless there is someone to receive them and there is no point releasing kit to receive them if there is no signal! get the timing right or its a waste of time and money until both parts are there to meet.
I live in winterhill area. So you are saying i will be getting a HD transmission come December 2nd but no equipment to watch it? Thats extremely helpful!
