Not just the US band plan for mobile @ 700MHz, how about the APT band plan which long term has serious numbers behind it. Mexico only a couple of weeks ago went with the APT plan due to its potential number of subscribers and larger eco system over the US plan.
Also shifting Freeview in the UK to DVB-T2 long with MPEG4 coding would allow for greater density of services inside each multiplex and with at least 6 years to restack, there is a decent time to get services moving, align with the Africans - the other half of ITU region 1 and then join up with everyone else apart from those North Americans.
Now where is that tin foil hat icon??
There are caps in NZ on holding 2.1 GHz (for mobile use) spectrum which need to be met, hence Telstra (AU) keeping some of the 2.1GHz out of the deal. Next step will be who Telstra sells its stock of 2.1GHz to - 2 Degrees? As I'm sure there will be a restraint of trade against Telstra in New Zealand.
You obviously missed the story about some wanting to heard sheep down Auckland´s main street during the RWC next month. Thankfully they cancelled that one too. Now the world just has to experience work class traffic jams in jafaland and a somewhat very very under invested public transport system instead.
Helicopter, cause its the only way to get to the game on time
+1 for the heat pumps. Has been done on a large scale already with a Data center. I was terrible at thermodynamics but someone better sit down and work out how many servers you´ll need to warm the house otherwise its well a load of hot air!
What about the connectivity as well. Would anyone want a could held together by consumer grade DSL?
Fire well, its keeping you warm
There is at least 1 new data centre in London already designed to provide heating and cooling to a property next door so your on to it.
That or you do an IBM and heat swimming pools or in Finland, they join data centers to the local district hot water system
Flames for heating....
