Jammy b*stards: Admen flog chocolate bars with 'Wi-Fi-free' zones

scot stockwell

First, do you really think they advertisers set up jammers in a Mall without getting permission from the Mall? If the Mall have allowed it, then it is legal surely?

Second, regarding Faraday cages. Radio interference has a specific definition. Faraday cages do not transmit signals - they do not interfere, they impede.

Man's phone burns, toasts trouser region

WTF?

Talk about understating the risk

There was an article the other day that said phone emissions may harm your testicles. Nothing was said about chemical burns and shrapnel!!

complaints??

Wow, so much anger at the possibility of an 'original story' would you all prefer MORE endless remakes???

I admit though, getting an 'original story' out of Hollywood these days will be an event in itself.

OpenMoko

How come everyone seems to forget the other Linux based mobile OS that is in development? It doesn't have big backing but for my money looks like it will produce a more open phone if it can beat the other 2 to a full scale release (and survive a buyout).

Doctors back more tax on booze

scot stockwell
Joke

yeah, coz booze is just soooo cheap here!!

In Cyprus they don't tax booze and strangely, not everyone is dropping dead before they hit 30.

This is a cultural issue, increasing the price of the problem will only cause financial hardship for those who find life in the UK so unbearable.

Nintendo patent profers wacky Wii add-ons

scot stockwell
Thumb Down

research much??

Half of these items (pistol, golfclub, fishing rod) already exist as 3rd party products. I hardly think that puts Nintendo "always one step ahead of third-party peripheral designers". Its possible that Nintendo might find that they are violating someone else's patent?

@ "Buy how could this be?"

Ha Ha! v funny.

Try reading it again and you will see that the cause is a HARDWARE issue. You can't upgrade the software if the hardware isn't supported, this applies to M$ as well!

Armed cops in Lara Croft bust action

scot stockwell

How sad... you missed the point mate

It's not the cautious actions of the police when they thought there was a gunman in the house that is being ridiculed here. Its the stupidity of their actions once they realised that the 'gunman' was just a mannequin.

Mind you, it doesn't say anywhere that the guy didn't actually have a gun in his house...
