because there are idiots in this country who can't speak another language and have never lived anywhere else and truly believe (in the same way yanks believe in the bible stories) that british TV "is second to none and the envy of the world".
Sadly, they are wrong on both counts.
UP yours,
I don't want to watch the BBC and can't see why I should pay for it. I don't see it as vital.
As You do and are "desperatly against a pay-per-view model" why don't you pay for me and everyone else... especially as you think "...It's vital that people don't have a choice where their money goes", paying for me shouldn't be a problem for you.
Currently I'm paying for the likes of you for something I don't use.
No.
The reason they have flopped is because no one wants to give google/facebook/the nsa all their videos and photos and everything they ever do...
...also call me skeptical, but I'll wait a few decades for the long-term eye damage assesments to be made. Or are google going to pay my medical bills in the future when one of my eyes focuses constantly on something nearby and the other doesn't...
*joke*
Not to mention the phosphor burn-in on my right eye of the google logo that now overlaps everything I see, with or without glasses.

..is the F'in point??? You get an autograph to make your book more valuable ro to show it to friends when they happen to be admiring your bookcase whilst waiting for dinner to be cooked.
Who the hell is going to be impressed by something that can't be sold because of DRM and everyone else has too. I know personalised autographs are fround upon by collectors but un personalised ones like this that everyone has, that all look EXACTLY the same are completely pointless.
"Watersports"?
Are we talking about the thing that most people would understand as watersports, or are talking about the alan partridge kind of watersports...
"...you do know what whatersports are, don't you alan?"

> It lost billions more making boutique own-brand hardware which nobody wants.
I think people would want them, just not at the apple level price range, MS is more like walmart, apple is more like Harrods. Selling a walmart product at harrods prices is never going to work, and then not subsidising touchscreens for all laptops with windows 8 was dumb.
I have a kindle fire, never used a tablet before, never will get another. It has become a replacement for the magazine rack in the bog... apart from that, I have no use for a tablet.
