Re: The actual translation

You are correct.

As a Fluent Welsh speaker I'd go with:

"Mae Microsoft yn dysgu Offica a Bing i siarad Cymreag."

That being said "addysgu" is correct.

It's the difference between "Educate" and "teach".

Re: I opt for pat down every time

While you can opt out in the US you cannot in the UK. The law states that if selected to go through a scanner you can a) go through and get dosed or b) go home because they won't let you through otherwise.

Sometimes, the US actually does things better.

Another Netflix Customer Service Fail

One thing the article fails to mention is that Qwikster will at some point in the future carry games for rent too. This may tip the model slightly if the additional cost is $1 (as Blu-Ray rental currently is). This might attract those who have other services eg GameFly to cancel that account and keep the DVD option on Qwikster.

Netflix used to be pretty good value. Now splitting it up and charging more leaves a bad taste in the mouth if the status quo of content remains. Some of the newer TV series are available on DVD but 4 months after the DVD release you still can't get it on Streaming. New movies likewise lag on streaming over DVDs.

Also, grovelling emails don't placate the masses of people annoyed with apparent huge price hikes.

In the end if this delivers better content people will stay, if not expect lots of Netflop jokes.

Customer Service Fail

The way they informed us of these changes was quite blunt and customer unfriendly email is probably why most people are crying foul. It's the kind of PR usually on reserved for governmental cock-ups. Major PR Fail!

That said, $16 a month isn't wholly unreasonable for unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs (abeit one at a time) when as Tim say it's nearly $150 per month for cable which is quite frankly awful.

If they improve the content available on Streaming - a lot of new things are out on DVD/Blu-Ray well before they are available on streaming - then there's a chance that many people will be able to go to just streaming and may save money and have a better service.

Cynical as I am - they'll cock it up, lose customers and money hand over fist and go bust!
