i9100BUKJ3 says mine and its Vodafone Ireland ... well it was bought but unlocked by unblocking code from Voda :)
Brand new owner of a HP DV7 (17.3" screen) and very happy with it. After a few days of light to moderate use quite happy with it. Only con point is the blu ray/dvdw combo that becomes very noisy with some discs....
And laptop screen scales to 1600x900 but it powers an external screen up to 1920x1080...
Does what i want it to do and then some!
The Fingerprint is a handy gimick :)
Oh and i paid about €899
I wholeheartedly agree with you!! I could not be bothered to watch borat and or bruno... I just don't think Sascha Baron Cohen is funny.... He is a big prat! Has the world suddenly stopped turning? Usually i disagree with you...
I love the banter between the lads but when JC starts picking on his European neighbours I just tune out... Someone compared him with a schoolyard bully but i wouldn't go quite that far more a neatherthaler (named after the valley of the Neader and yes thats a river in .... +shock- Germay).
Sips of his superior Belgian beer! (And yes my Blighty bound friends most Belgian beers ARE superior to the colored and flavored dishes water called Lager that you brits drink!
Maybe fought as hard as they could... Maybe they were underarmed against a very experienced and well equipped opponent... And maybe the largest share of "privates" were dutch speaking and the VAAAAST majority of the command structure was french speaking... ie commands were given in french and then said "et pour les flamands le meme chose" (and for the flemish the same thing)...
Maybe you should study your history a little bit better before you said something... Also the European superpowers int he 1800's had promised to protect Belgium in case of an attack by one of their own... Remember early 1800's there was Napoleon etc etc
On topic: they were t0553rs who were in the wind and figured there was power in numbers and should be prosecuted for wanting to board an airplane when in the wind (if they had been tested of course).
An article singing the praise of open source written by: Matt Asay is chief operating officer of Ubuntu commercial operation Canonical.
>> Shouldnt this be classified as an advert?
Sure you can buy development support but aren't you then paying to make use of your software? Isnt that the same as Microsoft does?
I dunno open source means free and totally free... so no fees for dev support... Ain't gonna happen right?
Reality check all them Linux and Unix and OS fans have many valid points but when you want support for production systems you will have to fork out for support... just the same as paying for a license for your software
Piracy endangers creativity???????
Get real your honour you have been buying way too much propaganda by Big Media. Record companies have been operating with the same income model since they were formed and have been extremely slow modernizing.
The last 2 revolutionary changes were: CD and premium mp3's (download) and this basically since the 1980's. The real threat to creativity is the media mastodonts who opposed to look for talent rather sign the latest xfactor or <enter first initial of your country>Got Talent clones in the country.
Very few talentscounts visit gigs they rather sit on the fence and chummy up to chainsmoking mr nasty and flashy "media is there to push my bandwagon and my talentless idiots" Irishman and their 2 good looking desk candy bimbo's...
In the 80s they said "hometaping is killing music" and yet they became humongously massive media conglomerates who discarded the scouts who didnt bring them the latest girl group or boysband or RnB band or gangsta rapper.
Wake up and smell the roses! The manufacturing of cds has gotten cheaper and cheaper yet prizes generally remain on a simular level as several years ago. In the case of downloads you can only download either poorish quality or usage limited files against the prize of a full cd (if you buy 15 songs). The one thing that feeds piracy is the bottomless greed of the bean counters
vmware wins as windows loses
hmmmm and can vmware operate on its own? no it cannot
Can vm ware run as a client os on a bare system? no it cannot
Vmware is no more and no less than a host application that runs on another host... without the original host vmware doesnt run either...
Or perhaps this is
yet another bubble that is bound to burst?
Iphone 1 was revolutionary but after that they really werent THAT innovative and the Ipad well lets see what happens with that... One thing is for sure working for Apple is a wet dream come through for PR people... hyping up products... Manufacturing supply shortages, bringing out "superior" kit that has as many bugs as a Windows beta... Yeah sure long terms looks grand!
Slate me all you want Jobculters i dont care one iotta this is MY opion and i totally admit i dont like apple
Paris because even she is starting to realize that Apple is becoming a bubble with its over hyped and prized superbly STYLED (yes fanbois i admit they know how to style their kit) and as we all know bubbles tend to burst.
Name me anything microsoft or google or apple their browsers have come up with themselves?
Firefox was always slow to adopt new functions because they want to see which add on's are the most popular i suspect given they are OPEN source... They dont force you to use their browser they dont collect your browse habbits to map your browse patters so they sell them on later for targeted advertising and well Apple is as propriety as can be... imho created to satisfy the followers of the prophet Jobs their desire for using only soft and hard ware approved by their uberlord.
Something else storing passwords in cloud? That sounds more like an idea of the google, microsoft or apple uberlords.
2 way video conferencing
never used it... useless piece of abillity
heck i wanted a cell with gps and mp3 abbility since i havent used either (granted partly because i needed to go online to use the gps)
Should have gone for a phone half the cost or 1/3 of it oh well
2 way video conferencing
What the hell? My 2yr old n95 8gb could do that when it was released (about a year before). And i think some other manufacuteres had that already too... I suppose this will be flamed down by fanbois but if 2 way videoconf is a hot thing on a jesusphone then i ll be dammed
facebook friends with boss
Im currently looking for a job and despite not being registered on FB under my full name i decided a few days ago to just bin it... Found it quite irritating that it didn't allow me to delete my profile but merely :"deactivate" ... Well FB i aint coming back yo!
Just remember lads and lasses its not just employers who use it more and more tax officers are using it to spy on you!
Privacy what is it worth today?
Google snoops your macaddresses and wifi info and scans everything to tailor adds
FB wants to tag you so you can be followed whereever you go on your fb profile
1984... nuff said
If it wasnt for the pop3 and imap service gmail would follow the way of FaceBook... Scapping
HMMM Why do you say TeXas nutters? Do you forget that generally FIFTY percent ofthe us population votes for them right wing nutters... This whle texas has only about 5 or 10 percent of the population.
Do you realise that the catholic church has the same view?
Personally if wereleast an animal out of its suffering why do we have to let a human die horribly and in pains because letting them die peacefully would mean we act like god... Yet the same leaders have no problem sending your men and women into death ifthy can earn a few shekels with it
Just hope across the channel to France or the friendlier Belgium (Flanders) where English is spoken and buy yourself an Iphone take it back with you on the train, boat or plane and you have a legal unlocked Iphone...
/note to self
Why would anyone want to spend gazillions of money on an apple phone is beyond me...
Heck i have been regretting for the best part of a year spending nearly 600Euro on a NOkia N95 8GB that wont even allow me to copy my mp3 files... I go online on average about 10 to 15 min per month on my phone and dont use the gps function as you have to pay extra for that... (thank you nokia for not making that clear prior to the purchase)... Mind you it is a nice phone
Question to the Reg When will there be a new BoFH episode????
to Anon Penguin
We made just some basic adjustments on the 25 year old windows NT kernel, nicer fonts and graphic looks, and basicly technically nothing changed from 3.51 to xp and w7.>>>
Buddy and Linux isnt an updated kernel EVEN older than NT... Or do you REALLY think every linux kernel is written up from scratch?? keep dreaming
Paris because even she is more useful than the Linux fanboy who wrote that
Dangerous while Driving
... Smoking... fiddeling around looking for the cigarette, then finding the lighter and bringing it to the cig and replacing it... Takes a good minute i would say one's attention is on the lil loyal soldier
