Simple: don't by over priced and over rated (cr) apples.
Buy something that costs half as much, performs as just well and can be fixed or upgraded.
We'll al be better off
When Apply are gone and this moronic patent system is dismantled.
Don't believe me? Just check out the history of steam loco patents and see how that held back innovation 60 years.
the original interlaced design was also chosen as we simply didn't have the bandwidth to transmit all 625 lines (UK PAL) each frame. Transmitting 312 per frame and interlacing effectively cut the bandwidth required by half. (Your good old VHS machine cut this in half again!)
No point having decent hi-fi/speaker/headphone if the original recording is low grade junk.
I listened to an Amy McDonald album recently - sounds like it was mixed using a pair of cheap headphones by an amateur. Also listened to a track from Katy Perry (Fireworks), it's distorted and clipped ffs.
Seems like it produced to sound ok when compressed to a mp3 junk file and played on a nasty ipod or similar crap.
Much less annoying than having a 3 minute interruption in the middle of something.
Waste of money
The game is a waste of money anyhow - basically comprises of a very short lackluster game which you then have to complete 3 times on different difficulties. Bored shitless after the first pass.
hyper-efficient idiot finders
"hyper-efficient idiot finders"
I thought that was what parliamentary elections were.
And the next step for any terrorist org is to hijack a city or two of meters, switch them off, wait a bit till everyone switches x, y and z on wondering why there is no 'leccy then turn the whole lot back on at the same time. Nice big power surge should take out the local grid...
I primarily use firefox, it does NOT have flash on it. If I come across a site that I can't use without flash I fire up IE9.
Works fine with the added bonus that a lot of annoying ad's are flash based and so I avoid then.
The reason 98% of the worlds pc use Windows is Linux!
Seriously though, Linux still is not as smooth and polished a user experience as Windows and for the average user it's not the best option. (I use both at work, but only Windows at home)
Orange customer service - fail
I've had similar experience with Orange. My partner has an Orange contract with one month left - we called orange to give notification we were going to terminate the contract and they offered us an attractive deal to stay - so we agreed - they also said they would cancell the old contract for us and move the number etc. Should be easy since we were staying with orange. First bill arrive with a £400 contact cancellation charge on! wft? After speaking with several call center monkeys who didn't have a clue, we eventaully got though to someone who did know their ass form elbow and managed to explain that orange had goofed - they had set up the new contract for us, then extended the old one and cancelled the new one and charged us.
That wasn't the first problem we'd had with orange and probably won't be the last.
100Mb for how long?
It's like advertising a car that does 100MPG*
Like other have said, try actually using the bandwidth and you hit your download cap very fast then get throttled.
* for 12 minutes per day, then 15MPG for the next x hours.
I think there is a simpler explanation - they were charged in Zimbabwean dollars.
