iOS 8 Healthkit gets a bug SO Apple KILLS it. That's real healthcare!

Nathan 13

Health Apps are all the rage

Until its users realises that they needs to get off their arse and do exercise that doesnt involve chewing chocolate bars whilst pushing their fingers against a remote control!!

Apple's big bang: iPhone 6, ANOTHER iPhone 6 Plus and WATCH OUT

Nathan 13

Google glass

Is on the right track with wearables, watches are not. All in my humble opinion!

Windows 8 market share stalls, XP at record low

Nathan 13

Maybe

Microsoft are being shrewd and getting as many W7 sales as possible, before releasing a great W9 that will be bought again by these same people!!

No, OK it was only a thought :)

Facebook pays half a billion dollars for firm that slaps ads on videos

Nathan 13

Honestly

I dont think I would ever want to watch, or enjoy watching an Ad during a video, even if it was pornographic!

They actually make me mad at the company being advertised!!

Maybe a new business model would be for Tesco to pay Facebook to show me Morrsions Ads!!

Google Glass faces UK cinema ban: Heaven forbid someone films you crying in a rom-com

Nathan 13

So behind the times

Anyone intent on pirating a film will find it in HD quality all over the internet.

Do you really think they would PAY!! and record the film in poor quality with laughable audio, and then watch it again smugly eating his Lidl popcorn.

How out of touch are these companies, it is genuinely scary!! (Saying that a dont want to see a flashing red led light when I next go to the cinema in 2076)

Google starts selling Glass to Brits – for £1,000 a pop

Nathan 13

I like gadgets

But at £1000 you have got to be a fool to buy this.

I wonder if its legal to drive wearing these, would serve as a great sat nav and dash cam!

Microsoft hopes for FONDLESLAB FRENZY as Surface Pro 3 debuts

Nathan 13

Frenzy

There may well be one, but it wont involve Microshit kit!! W8 has destroyed MS, and I think its too far down the line for a recovery.

They may (partially) recover the desktop/business market if they produce a business friendly/workable version, but as for laptops/touchscreen, no chance!!

Twitter jitters: Investors turn into quitters as shares hit the sh...

Nathan 13

Twitter

The most pointless and useless of the current versions of social networking.

In 10 years time we will not be using any of the current offerings, but Twitter will fade before facebook I feel.

Oh Sony. Have we learned NOTHING from SuperAIT?

Nathan 13

Yeah!!

One of a few companies I have boycotted, Sony being because of their audio CD auto-install virus back in the day.

Nice to see my boycott is working, not long now before they disappear and its all down to me :) :)

Microsoft: You know we said NO MORE XP PATCHES? Well ...

Nathan 13

Good decision

Microsoft need to do "good deeds" like this on a more regular basis. They might actually gain support rather than lose it in droves recently :)

One Win 8 to rule them all: Microsoft talks up 'universal apps' for PCs, slabs and mobes

Nathan 13

Universally SHIT

MS have come up with a SHIT operating system, a SHIT mobile operating system, and a SHIT touchscreen operating system.

Oh sorry, they are all the same SHIT!!!!!

'Bank couriers' who stole money from OAP cancer sufferer jailed

Nathan 13

Re: Best common sense tip?

It works like this to avoid calls dropping when transferring from one internal handset to another.

A better solution would be to not hand over your card or reveal your PIN number to anyone, just like the literature says in bold when you receive your bank cards in the post.

Yes I understand that the elderly are vulnerable sometimes, but banks do take a sympathetic view and will refund vulnerable customers as a rule.

Hey, Michael Lewis: Stop DEMONISING Wall Street’s SUPERHUMAN high-speed trading

Nathan 13

Fine line

Fine line between tighter bid/offer spreads (Which is good for average Joe) and market abuse (which is illegal but goes on all the time)

A global 0.5% stamp duty on every HFT trade would soon put a stop to the problem!

This changes everything: Microsoft slips WinXP holdouts $100 to buy new Windows 8 PCs

Nathan 13

$1000 wouldnt be enough

I have had this misfortune to use a W8 laptop.

What a total pile of shit. The bluetooth mouse needed to be paired again on every re-boot. The graphics card crashed all the time, the wireless network would keep dropping every few mins, the "shared graphics" was just a shambles, and I could not select the AMD 8000 card to work with my browser or certain applications which insisted on using the inadequate intel HD graphics resulting in piss poor performance.

All in all I wanted to throw the laptop out of my window!!

The worst computer experience I have ever had!!

HTC looks to cheaper phones as revenues wane

Nathan 13

@ Zack

Before smashing the phone to bits I would have left it re-booting all night until the battery died. A forced shutdown due to lack of electrons moving around!!

your flagship HTC one trounces the latest Samsung phones in build quality, looks and speed.

Just advertise it a bit better when you make the HTC two!!! (And add an SD card and removable battery :)

Whodathunkit? Media barons slit own throats in anti-freetard crackdowns

Nathan 13

I bought a legal digital copy of Scarface last year.

Took about an hour to "activate", and I was only allowed to activate it on one pc and watch it.

Needless to say I wont doing that again anytime soon.

The "blueray rip" I now have is better quality, plays on anything, and doesnt expire.

Samsung: The cash blizzard continues, but may not last forever

Nathan 13

Im not overly impressed with Samsung. Bought a HDTV and a Galaxy S3 and both are lacking the "X Factor" despite their premium prices IMO. Will be deserting them for my next purchase, I just think they are average rather than "cutting edge"

I have not chosen to have children as I believe the human race is destined for a severe culling one way or another within the next 20-30 years.

And as a 43 year old I have enjoyed every day on this planet that I can remember.

So if the world does end tomorrow I can say its been a great life!!

Psst, wanna block nuisance calls? BT'll do it... for a price

Nathan 13

100% sucessful solution

Just screen all calls, family/friends/genuine callers will speak after the tone, all sales calls will hang up before the greeting is finished.

Although sometimes I like to pick up the phone and have some fun :)

Official: Fandroids are smarter/tighter* than iPhone fanbois

Nathan 13

£60/$100 a month

Thats an insane amount to pay for a phone contract.

Considering you can currently get unlimited calls + texts + data for £21 a month with T-Mobile, (or if your really frugal you can get 100mins + 100 texts +400mb of data FREE every month on Ovivo), one has to be mad to pay that much, even with a free Iphone thrown in.

At the end of the day a phone is a phone, and no matter how much it cost it will be out of date in 6-12 months.

EE touts 4G Sim-only tariffs

Nathan 13

So

As people use much more data, and much less calling/texting on their phones, they give an unlimited amount of what people dont use, and a puny amount of what people do use.

Give punters 20GB, along with 200 mins & texts for £20 a month and people will snap their arms off to sign up.

Brit 4G live TODAY: At last you can bust your data cap in 5 minutes

Nathan 13

A reasonable priceplan

£35pm for a new top of the line phone, unlimited minutes/texts and 10GB of data.

SIM only £20pm for the same.

I currently use about 5GB a months in total on my Galaxy S3, and dont stream, youtube or watch Iplayer etc

500MB is such a ridiculously low limit that EE must have a complete fool in charge of their tariff setting.

HTC profits lobbed off a cliff by rivals Samsung and Apple

Can get away with a non-removable battery and lack of external storage. HTC thought they could get away with it and I believe it has cost them dearly on their flagship products.
