Femtocells know you're home again - but so what?

Free calls already available on US femtos

Operators including AT&T and Sprint are offering free calls on their femtocells as an option already. They have existing ways to show the end user that the phone is using the femtocell (and therefore the call qualifies for the cheap / free rate), but the UX-Zone app would do this nicely as well (there - admitted it! :-).

Mine is working fine

Haven't had any problems since I installed it a few weeks ago.

Femto cells with big ideas

Quick clarifications

The basic idea is that the femtocell knows when you get 'home', which is different from knowing when you get to position (x,y).

The demos showed how a femtocell can trigger things to happen when you 'get' home (assuming your phone is switched on) - they weren't really about about letting your (thieving?) Facebook friends know whether or not you are 'at' home.
