You thought only Google dodges UK taxes? So do all the Brit firms

I disagree. He should wade in and reform the system. If his party are doing it then they will be cleansed at the same time.

Re: If they rolled out IPv6

We can only hope this will speed up the rollout of IPv6 before we're all forced behind CGN :(

Re: Mailing the dead

I used to work for a company producing school management software (NOT crapita!). One of the things we would always test for when code was delivered from India : "are any dead people in this report".

You'd be surprised how often it would happen :(

Use a different directory if you're not getting the search results you desire.

The best thing about the Internet is CHOICE. Nobody forces you to use Google.

eBay: Our paid Google advertising was a total waste of money

Re: sigh

Have been in exactly the same situation as you. I'd already withdrawn the funds from Paypal, which gave me a negative balance.

Not able to use Paypal to purchase anything when you have a negative balance, all because somebody is trying to scam me.

Nobody at Paypal or Ebay was able to respond to my queries in less than 7 days. Will not be doing business on Ebay or with Paypal again.

You're joking, right? Sky broadband is a JOKE, as previously covered on El Reg: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/01/22/sky_broadband_adding_customers_first_capacity_after/

I've been using Comtel/NTL/VM since they fist installed in our city and I've never had a service issue (except when our local cabinet was vandalized).

To try and say that VM doesn't even rival Sky is just plain stupidity!

Re: Not the only problem

What annoyed you about it? Was it the simplicity of the purchase, the automatic updates and patches, or the ability to contact friends for easy multiplayer gaming?

Yes, getting emails about your account being locked is annoyed, but that's why we have email filters and rules.

Re: Re: Debatable?

Could you explain which 'whole industries' have been destroyed by people downloading films, music, games etc?

As far as I'm aware there is still a film industry, music industry, game industry.

Re: @Tim Bates

No need to wait for 'groups' to do the work... you can already compile your own mod_spdy (http://code.google.com/p/mod-spdy/) as I have for Apache 2.2 quite recently. I would expect that it would compile just fine for Apache 2.4 but that's a job for tomorrow :)

Red Hat jacks takeover price with 11% revenue leap

Congratulations

Good to see someone doing well in this economic climate.

I'm trying to achieve a RedHat / JBoss combo for our production systems (half way there, Win2k3 / JBoss) and we're buying training from them too. I can't frickin' wait.
