No Gigabit ethernet?

So it'll play HD streams but only if the quality is shit enough to go via Wifi/100mbit? No thanks.

hmmmm...

How is this any different to someone trying to trademark 'phone store' because they sell telephones?

nick 30

Hmmm.. a phone.

Can it make calls... Yes

Can I install apps without selling my soul to Apple/MS/Google... Yes

Is it easy to use... Yes

Is the hardware fast enough... Yes

Can you control the phone... Yes

Great phone but at that price I'll buy it used off Fleabay.

AppleOL is Back!!

So Apple is recreating AOL? They're trying to build the awful walled-garden internet of the 1990s.

I'm betting any patent-type restrictions on the AOL business model must have expired by now.

Mafia 2 gets 3 out of 10.

The game is very pretty but other than that its just boring. The story is average at best and theres nothing much else to do. There are only a few side-quests and they're dull. The only times there is a reason to do side quests is to earn a bit of cash but both times most of the money you need is given to you in the main quest anyway.

For a similar but much better game play Saints Row 2. Its not quite as pretty but there is a hell of a lot more side-quests to do with reasons to do them. More importantly most of them are great fun.

Mafia 2 fails on the most important way. They ignored gameplay to put more effort into how pretty it looks and that makes for a mediocre game. Even as an interactive movie/story it fails.

I cant wait.

Anyone have any idea what the next film will be based on?

I was lucky enough to see Avatar about 12 years ago when Disney called it Pocahontas. It looks much better without the oversized smurfs and unconvincing 3D too. I'd like to see the next film a few years ago too so I can brag to my friends.

Its a fair system

Just once I'd like to see a company fined $2,250 per item for something they did.

The Sony rootkit incident (which WAS also copyright infringement) should have cost them around $4.7 billion.

The Exxon Valdez spill should have cost them over $24 billion.

The only people who get these kinds of fines are those who dont have the ability to fight them.

maximum adressable memory

The Pentium introduced 36-bit addressable memory giving upto 64gig of ram. The 3gig limit in 32-bit XP is a MS created limit for old legacy driver support and because of a small performance hit.

My prediction

The biggest thing that MS wants to do is move everyone to a rental type scheme for paying for software. Instead of a one-off fee they want people to pay $5 per month for windows, then a bit more for office and so on. It'll start with all their corporate customers but eventually it'll apply to everyone. That way people will figure they might as well get the latest version if its no difference in price. Hardware vendors will love it because it'll sell more hardware than the "its safer/safer/better" marketing strategy.

The Max Tax will become the MS Rent

The HTC Hero phone will be available in 7 different colour styles including black, white, yellow, pink, gold, red and turqouise, and will include the much anticipated custom HTC Android user interface 'Rosie'.
