A map of the area of a client computer (10) is requested from a map server (11). Information relating to a place of interest is requested from an information server (12) by the client computer (10).

This should be easy to work around, don't have separate map and information servers.

Motorola, Samsung smash Apple's touchscreen patent claim

John G Imrie

Re: They did what?

You get a patent in each country, and each country has it's own rules. Just because the UK says it's invalid does not mean that it's invalid under German rules. Having it ruled invalid in one country can certainly help you in another as you can point to the reasons the first court accepted but the second court does not have to accept it.

Randum numbers

four successive values of a terminal’s “unpredictable number” have to be different for it to pass conformance testing.

Which means that they have no idea of how random numbers work as a truly random number generator could quite happily generate the same number 4 times on the trot.
