Scrapping the Human Rights Act: What about privacy and freedom of expression?

mmiied

Re: @John G Imrie

"Your post contains one flaw in re-engineering, in particular your list Paedophiles, Benefit Fraudsters, Extreme Porn producers, and Extremist’s would all be considered criminals. These activities would have been considered criminal both before and during your life time. Further to this almost all other societies would consider these activities criminal.

Whereas the 1946 poem contains a list of people who would largely not have been considered criminals until such time as the specific government to which Martin refers made these things criminal.."

Extreme Porn producers, and Extremist’s. where not criminals until the government decided that they where (provided the porn was concencal and that there was only extremism not terrorism)

you can make a case for Paedophiles in the same vane just a longer time ago

she was so incompetent she could not found it. she found some "schoolgirl" porn where the actress was clearly 18 (records on file notice and all that) and even the char she was playing was over 18 (self identified as such)

Inside Steve Ballmer’s fondleslab rear-guard action

mmiied

Re: So that's one fondleslab

the foldle slab will have a 500gb non volatile memory cache on the chip and it will cache your docs the whole process will be invisible to the user only us techies will know now it works the same way Users do not know how DNS works or IP packet routing

Re: No, Liam, I won't be using a fondleslab as my primary computer.

the point is most users will use touch. USERS

people doing the work will stay with interfaces that let them work but consumers will move to touch and leave WIMP as the niche for those of us that need it. the same way that when I want to really use my server or delve inot network dignostic tasks I use cmd or now powershell but users use windows. in the future users will use touch and artists and developers will have developer machines that have mouses and touch pads and they will get the same look Users give me when I open cmd prompts

define a job

I currently have a job witch I do to buy things but if I had more free time I would "work" by writing books or painting pictures. if things where cheep I would not need to do much work to get a fondle slab or food but the price of created stuff (somthing robots are bad at) might not fall

Re: "They always have a back-up"

in nuclear power your bckups have bckups what hppenes is each backup failes one after each other based on the servirity of the disaster till one holds but as each one fails your options to get the plant back working go down hill till the last backup leaves the plant a smoldering weck that will take decades to clean up but leaves the civiln population unharmed.

if I remember the disaster right the backups eventuley held but the cores are scrap.

intresting thought

the reasion spent fuel rods are dangrious is that they are raidocative. it is exactley the same property that made them usefull in the first place. They are litulery throwing out energy everywhere so all we need to do is develop a way of harnshing that energy you know sort of like reprocessing them and resuing them

not sure about

I have been talking to somone in the decomishing industry and the new genration of nuke plants do not have astrronomical clean up costs

the current gen do but they where built as test plants and wepons genrators and so they have complex clean up. But the new gen desines and easy to clean up and I bleave the ones in the US put asside a little form each MW they sell to pay "cleanup insurance" to cover decomishing costs

nuclear costs

I do not have the evidance for this but I was told by somone who works in the nuclear decomising industry is that plants in the USA do pay for them selfs and pay a tax on all energy sold to pay for the cost of decomishing

and by the way before anyboady says so the reasion a lot of decomishing at the moment is very expencive is the things that at the momeny are begin decomishened are test reactors a lot of witch where pushed to the limites (as you do in tests) ans therefor there where some unexpected results witch are costly to clean up
