Connecting Gmail to Google+ is SENSELESS, says Digg founder
Well I tried to follow your link to 'zombie' my google+ account but it wants me to log in first which is a slight problem because I have no idea what my Google plus email address is, I set one up years ago to access the play store, and I have even less chance of remembering my password.
But hey, I opened the link to log in so that's one more 'active' Google plus member this month I suppose.

Is it just me or does anyone else think 'NSA employee' whenever I read a post saying 'its their own fault they were spied on' or 'its no big deal really'?
I suspect NSA has both the means and the inclination to do lots of 'damage limitation' posts on forums such as this.
Or an I just getting too suspicious and cynical?
The Reg undergoes a Twitter makeover: Come join the squawk
OK, I will follow that account but my finger will never be far from the 'unfollow this ejit who spams my twitter feed with shite' button.
Oh and to all those who will down vote me because I like twitter I don't care. I like twitter because, used properly, it is like having your own forum populated just by people you find interesting.

Re: Unintended Consequences
I agree with all the above except he/she would not be on a bonus, you have to be much higher up the Servo food chain than someone who actually does work for a customer to get any bonus.
Of course this just means that those who do get bonuses exert tremendous pressure 'downwards' to make sure the numbers show the KPI's are met.

FRBs and variable forces: a big week for astronomy
Every article I read on astronomy seems to remind me of this old joke....
A mathematician, a physicist and an astronomer are on the train from London to Glasgow, as they cross into Scotland the astronomer sees a black sheep in a field.
Ah ah says the astronomer, a black sheep, from that I can deduce that all sheep in Scotland are black.
No, says the physicist, all you can deduce is that in Scotland some sheep are black.
Actually says the mathematician all you say is that in Scotland there is a field in which there is a sheep, one side of which is black.
Oh look is that my coat.

I really don't think they have anything to worry about regarding damaging their reputation for being 'bold, open, trusted and clear'
Now if they were concerned about their reputation for being 'underhand shysters' that would be a different matter, although on reflection, I don't think they need to worry about that either.

RIAA: Google failing on anti-piracy push
I do believe the googlie ones search results are tailored to an individual and takes into account previous search history?
So if someone was to be always searching for pirate music sites the search results would be weighted towards showing pirate music sites.........
Or do I understand Google even less than I understand the music business?
