"Quick tip to marketing droids - dry run well in advance of any major customer presentation should be mandatory to stop hidden gotchas, especially if using a new bit of kit"
That'll be 5 minutes before attempting to connect to the new projector with a 9 pin to discover it only has HDMI then?
Just not connecting electricity at all?
If they're so energy efficient then some solar panels, inverters & batteries with a couple of wind turbines should be fine.
Support would have the 'we had a power outage' taken off the crib list & then they could say, yes we run on our own juice.
Down vote me all you like but Im not a flax eating wierd beard
Well, I'm a long time Apple customer, and I can't say that I regret that, although as things stand I can't see anything they offer that appeals to me, or would, when my 2008 MacPro finally gives up (yes, 2008 - that's why I like(d) Apple products)
Ditto for 2006 Macpro, my upgrade will probably be your old one in a few years time.
The sooner this company gets its head out of its arse & produces something useful instead of soon to be redundant, expensive throw away toys the better.

Agree entirely, another example of 'dumbing down' or malicious fiddling is the Airport utility in V 6.3.5 it does not show half the options, the (not very) advanced but useful stuff has just vanished.
Fire up my ancient MacPro with SL running older version of Airport Utility & presto its all available.
perhaps its 'progress'?
I agree entirely, a few more idiotic decisions to add to the list:
The removal of "Save as" in OSx Lion
The abandoning of Aperture
The mess they made of the Mac Pro
Non upgradeable components in MacBook pros: HDD & memory
& the fact they no longer seem to give a shit about the creative professional folks who they've all but abandoned
Just a few examples.
If all you really need is a bit of good ole fashioned file & print, tinterwebs & mail etc, then some alternatives are ahem, free no matter how many million cores or users you have.
Down vote me to hell, but the new licensing looks as appealing as a sponsored swim in a lake full of crocs & I can hear the cries of "how much" from accounts.
Same happened with rubber bands, we received about 4 million because someone doofed a nought or two & it got multiplied up.
But best of all, was the time some digits got swapped around as the order was keyed in. Three weeks later, the base came to a halt as a low loader arrived under escort bearing two enournous kedge anchors. Having explained that we really did not need or order them the driver cheerfully said "so you wont be wanting the other four then?" The initial order was for just 6 light bulbs.
XP refuseniks around 10%, 7 - 48.57% & even 8 holding on to 8.77%
So 'hardball' tactics not really worked then? & only galvanised those who dont want it by installing Never 10, un-installing KB3035583 or do whate ever else stops the feckking malware downloading & screwing up your other wise perfectly good PC.
Because Microsoft wont give a toss if it does.
