You have to be able to upgrade graphics cards to support new features in programs. Especially true with Video Editing.

I agree with LarsG. Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you can use a computer or technology. This seems to be the market Apple gets. These people also seem to be CEOs, Managers etc. Where i work you can pretty much work out who can and cant use a computer by their phone.

Skyrim on PC looks 100 times better even on a lower spec machine, GTA 3 looks 100x better. Most games look alot better on the PC if a developer can be bothered to develop. Consoles age badly but you don't notice until you have them side by side. Assasins Creed is average graphics but would have looked amazing if it was PC only.
Lets also not forget that the PCs will also run alot of old games :) and when i upgrade above both consoles i will still be running those old games if i want to.
Consoles also dumb down and ruin games. AVP was amazing 10 years ago, and the new version sucked. Why? because the aliens where slow and retarded because you cant aim quickly on a console.

i bought a 7" because it was smaller for reading and carrying around. If i wanted a weighty lump to carry around i would have bought a laptop....or an ipad.
But a tablet is for quick jobs, anything more like ordering, typing chatting is a chore. PCs still have their place and will recover but it is a little slow at the moment. There is no new hardware for gamers, businesses are downsizing so don't need any and alot of people are buying the newest toys e.g tablets.
The real question is will anyone buy another tablet?

I use and actually like VMware but the cost of the thing is extreamly difficult to justify now if you are a medium sized business.

Apples strength in the PC market will suck for future development. OSX is a copy of opensource software, and their hardware is just PC hardware. If Apple damages the PC market then we will end up with slow computers all round. Who would develop processors, graphics cards, memory etc if there is no one to buy it. Lack of choice would mean lack of innovation. Apple got MS moving again but have since just released the same product at different sizes. Steve Jobs image of the future is now the cancer of Tech innovation.
If you search for Maps on BIng you just get lots of links to google :P If google is to work as a search engine i would expect Google maps to be at the top as everybody in the entire world uses it.
Just because your loosing to a better product doesnt make the other company anti competitive.

Air?
Macbook air isn't really that sexy. its just a thin piece of metal which doesn't really have any design to it what so ever, other than being thin. Its like saying a skeleton is sexy because there is 0 fat. I would accept the MacBook Pro over that as it actually took time to design. I would put most vaio z series over both of those.
I only get 0.7mbps all day everyday. who cares about people who get 10mbps. My broadband is so crap i should be on benifits.
Apple trying to catch up to Android :) iPad mini will do very well but im not sure it will take the shine off the Nexus or the Kindle as they are cheap, and thats whats important here. We had an iPad and it wasnt worth the money, its too heavy too limited and too expensive. The nexus is lighter and so much cheaper its a wonderful product with the best OS by far, both in style and usability.
The Nexus is far better than the iPad and it cheap, that makes it a no brainer, you dont feel guilty about having just spanked a load of money on something you dont really use that much.

I thought the new port was because they had to follow EU ruling on standard chargers to prevent waste from proprietary ones!!

Sod the speed whats with the cost!!! If usage is an issue and that's why we pay so much for broadband, why on earth do the fibre lines pretty much cost the same!!!
It should be proportional to the highest speed available so if they get gigabit in london mine should be 1000x cheaper :P. In fact broadband in my area is so crap i should get a disability and have it paid for by the government, then we would see them get off their asses.

HTML 5 will take years to catch up to flash and it seems a shame to stunt the internet experience because it didnt fit in with Steve jobs Grey and white 1984 world. You shouldn't shoot your cart horse before they have invented the car.

OEMs like Dell offer non OS versions i believe.
And i would imagine about 99.9% of people want windows installed. however at lease 99.9% of people buying Windows 8 will want to remove it.
These cases are just because Apple is a one trick Pony and has no idea about innovation or forward thinking. Look at the iPhone 4, 4S and 5 they are pretty much identically IOS hasnt changed since release and neither has OSX. Steven Jobs stole ideas, polished it slightly then patented it.
Apple are scum, they make Microsoft even at their worst seem like a pleasant company, If only the British still ruled America we would have a nice free world of innovation :P.
you dont know you want a big screen until you have one :) I used to love my HTC Desire cuz it was small, however i bought a HTC ONE X which is massive but soooooooooooooo much better. People only want a small screen because they havent used a bigger one. Phones are now so much lighter size isnt as much of an issue.
Also i bet its higher than 51% who will re buy and iphone. Most of their users are morons and would buy any crap Apple produced however useless or unchanged it is.

Because open source is unreliable, slow to update and no one can open the files. Now Oracle raped sun will open office even exist? and what happens when they get bored and it doesnt get supported anymore. Open source is its own worst enemy. The best it ever does is under the wing of Google or similar big companies where someones pumping money into the project but you can tweak and modify it.
Another company on the scrap pile like Sun :P

I would imagine the data is filtered and delivered a little more condensed to a mobile phone, but you can view full results on most phones nowadays. However replicating Google has been tried by many people and nothing has come close due to googles sheer popularity and integration. In search you have to hit the ground sprinting just to keep up. Its also not an industry you can buy, unless you buy Google because all of the other search engines are already failing wastes of space.

I have yet to see any "real" professional outside of design who use macs for more than email. HMRC? So really do mean people who do bugger all than try and look good. I love high res as much as the next man, but wtf you gona use it for? Did you have a problem before? I think you wont find it in a rival machine because of the £1800 price tag!!!! Connectivity
Optical Drives
Upgrades
repair
Price
Performance
Long term usefulness
Yes it has a nice spec, maybe a £900 spec not an £1800 spec. its nice for writing your script in the coffee shop pretending to be important, but its not great for professional purposes. Gaming aint gona be great either on a resolution that high, but then you cant really game on a mac. At least Angry birds will look pretty for the morons that drop the cash on this rubbish.

A typical Style over substance approach from Apple. Did they actually release a single good product at their show? Or was it all just just minor tweaks and fixes like IOS 6.

This OS release is another iPhone 4s. Lacks innovation and essentially its just catching up with android 2.3. Was it really worth a 6!!! 5.2 maybe?
Honestly i was disappointed by this i thought they where going to fix the dated OS interface with something new and fresh. Had an iPad 3 for a bit but hated it, the OS was worthless.
In face everything Apple has announced has been poor so far. The new Mac Pros look good, but that retina display is going to need some punch to push that many pixels no hight end games im afraid.
Apple will be fine though the blind Fan boys are already lapping up the waste coming out of Apple heralding it to be the greatest innovation man has ever seen.
On another note i hope car manufacturers have the sense to use NFC or something for the in car stuff. Limiting yourself to one phone with a Apple only connection seems like a poor move.
Tried other rivals to google and frankly most are such a waste of space the google should remove them from the results.
Windows Phone is a great OS but lacks apps. Infact Windows phone is much nicer to use than any of its rivals. Android is suffering from large companies not producing Apps or delaying them despite the huge market. iPhone is an outdated OS in serious need of modernisation, but its apps are second to none.
HTML 5 apps will allow cross compatibility if we are lucky making the app market irrelevant. Meaning Windows phone and android will push ahead of Apple in all aspects.
Apples lack of innovation will be their downfall. Its currently supported by their closed garden, and ignorant customer base. If you exclude the app stores IOS is by a long way the worst OS. And in most cased running on the worst hardware.

I dont think a patent should be allowed for natural use of the human body. We use Multi touch naturally and i have done since birth. If i wish to touch and manipulate things with multiple fingers i should be allowed too.
You shouldn't be able to protect rubbish like that just the technology to do it. In fact do Apple have any patents that related to actual innovation? or is just the colour of socks and council house grey for shops?
The American Patent system should not be upheld by the rest of the world.
It's nice to have a look at things, and i do go to the high street to look at products im unsure about. The problem is I then go home and buy it online :P

Nokia produce the best phones and the worst software. Symbian has never even been an OK phone OS.
MS will drag them out of the gutter with Windows Phone 7 as it isnt half bad! and is still a baby. Slap it on the best hardware and you are going to have a damn good phone, they could take the business market by storm!
Has to be said if they slapped some android on there they would have the BEST phone on the market, its a shame but i would imagine there is some life saving deal behind them not using android MS probably giving them alot of cash i would imagine.

Actually im not :P The adverts are little more than Video, or low end gaming. You can get the similar battery life gains by staring at your desktop and not actually doing anything.
I agree with Apple's Iphone we should go back to basic HTML, image how much battery life we could save only having text!!! infact why bother with the OS user interface, imaging the battery life with command based laptops!!!!
Eitherway surely the issue is that websites should not allow flash based adverts. Or at least detect that they are on a laptop. It wont be long before HTML 5, or the next tech is eating battery life.

the arial issue with the iPhone 4 is exactly where his view is wrong.
If HTC for example brought out a crap Android phone, you just buy a different one, you still get the goodness.
If your iPhone doesnt work you told to sod off, what choice do the users have? Even when they admit fault by offering a case to fix the issue the phone doesnt apparently have.
Apple users are such saps. Look at the stagnent Mac platform, its had so little development its still in the dark ages. they didnt even support a stadard UK keyboard untill a couple of years ago, and im not sure if they do now. But if you asked them to fix it they would tell you to buy apple rubbish, and go f$$$ yourself if you wanted them to actually support a setup used by millions of people.

I have had the stalling issue but none of the others. I guess thats because i know how to type rather than jab at a screen hoping it works.
Anyway i went android because because the iPhone has stagnated. Without any competition in the market the iPhone is quickly becomming substandard with a slow processor and the dated grey look. More importantly the iPhone 4 has a signal issue which i have caused first hand. Yes i know apple given a free case to fix a hardware fault but im not a twat. There is also the issue that as there is only one iphone if you ask them to fix it they offer you a refund. what choice does a user have but to stick with it.
The iPhone itself if OK, its stylings are a bit 1984 and you have to buy it from a shop which looks like a council house (Grey block if you dont get that), but atleast you get to look at them on ikea tables. My point is the iPhone aint great but the developers have done a good job. Lets face it you dont see any apple apps on their adverts.
On the upside the good developers are moving to Android :D

Also how does a terminal make a mac a real computer? its a locked down system which is looking and freeling out of date. The Irony is that Mac are the voices in the screen on there 1984 advert. Grey is the only way bitches.
