I'm gonna be on a beach on the Florida/Georgia border a fortnight from now and I've always wanted to see a shuttle launch...

Apple punts Safari update

Stop

Requires a restart

I trust that is of the browser, not the entire OS?! Or have Apple gone down the IE4/5/6 road of tying the browser so closely to the OS that you can't even change the font settings without a reboot???

Where's the Stop and then Go icon?

OpenSSH exploit rumours swarm

"Too busy with other projects to maintain..."

Honestly, that excuse is starting to become as see-through as "I want to spend more time with my family"

Amazon may plug in-book advertising into Kindle

Prior Art

That would be a magazine then, you know, where articles are just occasionally interspersed with adverts?

Erm. The 2010 *Winter* Olympics are being held in Vancouver. The 2012 *Summer* Olympics are in London. Although to be fair, your point still stands!

Grand Theft Auto IV coming to the iPhone?

Jeremy 2
Stop

It's not GTA4.

Quite aside from the fact that they could never ever scale down GTA4 to a level that would run on iPhone without murdering it...

About 3 seconds in, the building on the other side of the street after the men jump out of the SUV has "Los Angeles Bank" written on the side.

Besides, for Apple to approve a GTA game for sale, it would have to be toned down to the level of My Little Pony.

Question

So you hold the controller with your two hands... What are you supposed to do with your hand-held iPhone then? Rest it on your knees? Lean it against the wall and squint to see it?

Somebody really should have thought this thing through a bit more...

There's a surprise...

It was never going to last, was it?

I have to wonder what would have been their response to anyone under the age of 70 who answered the demand with "None."

US city demands FaceSpaceGooHoo log-ins from job seekers

Sue them!

Even though the details are being handed over 'voluntarily', it's still unauthorised access of a protected computer system. Isn't that a felony in the US?

Honestly, the fuckwit who came up with this idea should be made to hand over all his login details too. I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

Ryanair requires web check-in, shuts down website

Jeremy 2

Of course they won't waive the charge...

...this is RyanAir we're talking about!

Why people fly with that company, I'll never understand. It's not like they're that much cheaper than their competitors, especially when you consider all the 'non-optional extras' that they charge an arm and a leg for, in order to drive down the headline price.

Update

My old English teacher used to say "don't use 15 words when 5 will do". Google could have shortened that statement to a single word: "Yes".

uSwitch up for sale

Jeremy 2

Independence

The problem with uSwitch is that a lot of people believe their truly independent or even government run. They really should be forced to declare their interests more obviously to the users, not hidden away on an 'about us' page that nobody will ever see.
