Your so unconcerned about venting your spleen yet you hide behind the blanket of anonimity... if your so unconcerned about other peoples needs to "grow up" just post under your real name and see how long you last in your "senior position"

" ... IT training rooms in prisons are not the same as IT training rooms in normal companies."

Yes they are, and neither should allow access to ANY other network... (interwebs included!)

The trademark in question is a US Trademark in the area of games... Not Books/eBooks

GW are trying to assert the trademark in that area (ebooks)- which is really quite sad.

The Paper print version of the book is still (or was yesterday) available on amazon for sail.

Re: installation disc?

If your talking about the Recovery CDs I needed to recently needed to Recover my old Acer Travelmate 2000, cunningly labeled as "Recovery Disk 1 of 2" and "Recovery Disk 2 of 2" ... which fell over when it asked me to insert the "Next" Recovery CD after restoring 90% from Disks 1 and 2 ....

Java Programmer != Software Professional...

With the current education system seemingly designed to spew out "Java Programmers" at graduate level, finding people who can "code" these days is getting harder and harder.

Logitech Business Strategy...

.. You know its wrong when they have to replace an entire IPod Dock / Speaker (£65) system because the remote (£5 tops) stopped working and its still within its 2 year warranty as they DONT have any spare/replacement remotes...

Thier customer service however is brilliant ;)

"hell "

"If your still stuck on 97 you're really making your life a hell of a lot more difficult then it needs to be!"

And why exactly is that? I all he's using it for is simple wp tasks, like the odd letter and small documents and it does axactly what he wants? Surely upgrading will make " your life a hell of a lot more difficult then it needs to be" ..

SKY and LoveFilm both Stream.

Lovefilm is so so, but as a SKY Subscriber already I find the Streaming on the XBox/Laptop (Currently SkyPlayer Multiroom) is actually rather good. ANd from next month it will be £10 cheaper.

BBC?

What a load of stupid cuts...

Simon Westerby 1

I was on three and left...

as their network coverage now rubbish...

Poor 2g signal at home and No signal at work.

The "promised" upgrade to the mast near me at the end of january, never materialised... as i suspected it never would.. still no signal at work on 3.

An unlimited usage on a phone is only good if you can actually get on teh network..

Simon Westerby 1

No signal in Stokenchurch...

Just after I left 3 after their "No 2g fallback" fiasco... now this.... *sigh*

Non Branded for me...

I've always used Non-Branded in my Epson R200, which is now over 6 years old and still running strong - with no issues...

No clogged heads..

Same with my Girlfriends R200... (same age)

Used to print documents, cd covers and photos..

I refuse to be fleased by the manufacturers..

We are looking to upgrade to a multi functional printer/scanner/coppier atm and I will be looking at the cost of non-branded replacement ink when we decide what to buy

Moore's law

Pretty much every thing in relation to computers follows Moore's law, yet for some reason the ISP's decided that Bandwidth use would not when they started overselling their capacity...

I have no sympathy for them.

Simon Westerby 1

Or you just can't get them anymore...

>>I'd go for the employer too, leaving them to prove that the appropriate

If its a 4 year old laptop its possible you can only get OEM (read:cheap knock off) battery replacements..

Since when was ignorance of the law an exuse...

"Your determination that Google did this deliberately is based on some very flawed (some might say naive) views of software development. There also seems to be some indication of bias -- you seem to be avoiding any points that lessen your case that it was deliberate."

I always thought "ignorance of the law" was never an exuse to break the law....

Technology TLA Crisis .. thats the real story

I wondered when I first saw this why Redhat was making a "Keyboard, Video, Mouse" dongle, but realised as soon as started reading this that we've stimbled into an era when Three letters is simply no longer enough letters to effectively define what something is...

We need to form a commitee to imediatly define future standards for acronyms to avoid this sort of public confusion in future !!

Will FLA's be future proof enough (and is FLA a really valid name!!)

Techonology as a whole is Doooooomed !!!

So shell try to penny pinch.. any contracters with balls/talent will tell them to shove it... they will be left with the dross, their IT systems will feck up, project costs will sky rocket and they'll have to spend money to fix things...
