Chrome makes new password grab in version 34

Ian 45

Finally

I want my passwords stored except for the ones that involve money. Many sites dont allow password saving even though no cash changes hands. I'll decide.

Its true, just look in the source and you get the email address. Wow, that is a massive blunder and surely a breach of data protection?

It's EE vs Vodafone: 'How good is my signal' study descends into network bunfight

Ian 45

Vodafone no work

Used to get a signal in my house, now, nothing. Not even outside. Moved to O2 and bingo, back in business. Missus still on Vodafone and rarely able to get a signal outside of a town centre. Utter crap.

EU Parliament rubber-stamps 'irreversible' data protection reforms

Ian 45

Non EU

Shame they dont allow people to say they dont want their data stored or processed outside the EU. Would kill off outsourcing outside of Europe and generate European jobs.

Tata says USA rejecting HALF of Indians' work visa requests

Ian 45

Economics

Simple economics, US firms used to save money on Indian outsourcing then Indian wages skyrocketed so no there is no benefit to the US. They now simply move the jobs back onshore to US citizens. Bye bye India.

Yet ANOTHER Brit MOBE tower BORG: Three and EE ink network-sharing deal

Ian 45

Thank God for O2

Live in Wales and had Vodafone which used to work then they seemed to cull their network so no it barely gets signal anywhere outside a major town. O2 still works in the wild. Worth the money.

Microsoft: Don't listen to 4chan ... especially the bit about bricking Xbox Ones

Ian 45

Microsoft Fail

Microsoft will have to cover the cost of fixing said bricked Xbox's as owners can claim a child was messing about with the controller and they happened to hit the sequence shown.

MPs back call to boycott low-taxed tat from Amazon over Xmas

Ian 45

Tax avoidance = lower prices

Simple equation really, Amazon works on really small margins so the less tax it pays the lower our prices. We are already paying 20% VAT as well as having been taxed on the income to begin with. How about the Govt spends a lot less then we can decide for ourselves what to spend it on?

Price rises and power cuts by 2016? Thank the EU's energy policy

Ian 45

Are you listening Cameron?

I wonder if Cameron realises the fact if there is a blackout all his voters will desert to a party which promises to keep the lights on? I'm amazed he has allowed our coal powered plants to be shut with nothing to replace it. Europe is committed to Economic suicide with the Lib Dems as the main cheerleaders.

So a few people have a hobby which could be replaced by using a phone and then allowing the majority to use wifi. Why is the country always run for the benefit of a minority rather than the majority?

Break up BT

Split infrastructure from services but they wont because BT has many billions pension deficit which if it goes bust sits with the Government due to the contract when privatised. I love bailing out unionised pensions.

Isnt it time the EU told Micorsoft they have to keep patching as they have a monopoly. Either that or they must give the source code to a third party who can charge for updates. Microsoft cannot be a monopoly and then expect to get away for free.

After Leveson: The UK gets an Orwellian Ministry of Truth for real

Ian 45

Free speech?

Insulting certain people is a crime, there is no such thing as free speech in the UK. This merely extends the principle further such that only pre-approved words may be used. Thin end of the wedge.

'Leaked' doc shock: BT denies inflating prices for rural broadband rollout

Ian 45
FAIL

Break up BT

Should be like the electric, one company manages the network (highly regulated) whilst service companies offer competing offerings for the customer. BT gets away with it as it has a huge pension deficit which would crystalise if this happened which neither the Govt or the unions want (as their defined benefit pension would close). The public are being ripped off to pay for overpaid employees just as in most of the public sector.

How can it possibly cost 2bn to put a catapult on it? Whats it made of, solid gold? Sounds like someone changed their mind and the only way to get the politicians to fall for it was to make up a massive number. All this so some Scottish union members can keep their jobs.....

They wouldnt need the serial number as they could work this out once they had monitored a user entering their pin + number as they could check which serial number provided that number at the specific time the user entered it.

Data protection and surveillance: Swapping the speed camera for ANPR?

Ian 45

Rubbish

Every time I got to the airport long term parking it uses this automatic number plate reader and always confuses a 0 for D. In that case the scanner is no more than a few feet away. Quite how a scanner 30 ft up a pole can read it in bad weather is beyond me!
