Put it this way...

...I won't be choosing Opera as my browser of choice.

@The Orginal Ash

"... How do you download an alternative web browser?

Does windows ship with an ftp client"

It does....

Open a Command Prompt and type FTP. There is no clicky pointy stuff. All manual typing.

John70

Here is a question?

How many computers/servers in the EC offices run some version of Windows?

How many of these computers/servers running Windows have alternative browsers installed?

What would happen if Microsoft decided to say "Windows is no longer available to buy in the European Union. People from the EU must now buy Windows direct from Redmond"?

John70

Are they sure...

...IE is removed and not just hidden?

Isn't the rendering engine part of the OS used by the desktop?

Joke

@AC: I've got an idea.

"All the governments of the world put £5 into a kitty each year.

The save the world fund.

In a billion years we can just buy whatever's needed to deflect "

Won't that be just enough money to get us out of the global recession?

Voting

Why are people so obsessed by BNP getting 2 seats? The BNP is seen as a protest vote.

After all we live in a society where we are free to vote who we want.

If the other 70% couldnt be bothered to vote then they have no say after the result.

Best thing they can do is to vote next time round to make sure they don't get in again.

What the main political parties need to do is listen to the voters and keep their manifesto promises, like a vote on the EU Treaty which Labour didn't give.

Come the next General Election we will get the same bull about Crime, Education, NHS and Immigration. And most likely nothing will be done, again...

Amstrad Computers

The computers from Amstrad were

CPC464 (Colour or Green monitor) with built in Tape Drive, 64k memory

CPC664 as above but with built in disk drive instead of tape

CPC6128 same as CPC664 but with 128k memory

PCW were the business versions

Bought out Sinclair Spectrum and rereleased it.

Also allowing Spectrum emulator writers to use the ROMS for free.

Offshoring

Uk.gov should do the same... Any British company that has offshored jobs should pay some sort of Offshore Tax. Especially call centres. Hate ringing them up.

British workers were laid off because of greedy corporations offshoring jobs to increase their profit should be made to pay for the lost revenue in tax that UK.gov would have got from them if the jobs were still being done by British workers.

Movie Budget

Will there be enough money in the budget to actually base the story somewhere other than London/Cardiff ??

Thumb Up

Time to watch...

Team America again...

John70

Not another...

...Phorm test was it on Business users this time?

John70

Why are we still bothering...

...with spinning media?

Shouldn't everything now be solid state?

John70

A new definition of...

...going out on the piss.

Gravity

They will need to develop gravity plating to put in this orbital shipyard so people aren't floating about in offices, living quarters, bathroom, etc...
