These engines were primarily abandoned because of the risk of a blade detaching and penetrating the cabin, with the remaining off balance engine vibrating the structure to failure. More, smaller blades within a nacelle are significantly safer.
Paris - b/c it vibrates, and costs a lot.
Last year Phony Tail earned $11 Million ($11,104,659) in total executive compensation. I suspect it was 3 times this figure that made IBM choke. Either that, or his management skills. [exec pay from here:

You poor sods still living in England. I will go to my local video store, rent anything I like, including NF713, while reading a copy of Spy Catcher. I will not appear on any state owned surveillance camera, I will not have my license plate recorded, and even if I break the law, I will not have my DNA stored by the state. Time to abandon mother ship England before the borders are sealed.
There is no good beer in the US, but its a small price to pay for liberty.
Paris, because she can't understand why there aren't more cameras.
One other potential winner in this scenario would be Schwartz. How much does he stand to make from the buyout? Having systematically destroyed Sun, making every wrong decision possible, I hope IBM has the wit to leave him with the revenue model he espoused.
Paris. For all that is wrong about her, she creates wealth.
