Video Plays Fine on iPad and iPhone
@AC1 and Stew Knight: The video plays fine on iOS devices. Just tapped of the video and it opened and played without a hitch. YouTube uses flash on the desktop but also plays nice without it.
@AC2: Why exactly did you *have* to watch this video. It's easy to not read articles, watch videos, or comment of subjects that are of not interest to you. Do you read / watch everything you come across on the net? Which I had that much free time!
Apple is responding faster than MS!
TWO months in and Apple is in some way responding to the issue. How many YEARS has it taken M$ to finally correct the Xbox 360 RROD? Sheesh, all the hystrionics! (El Reg included) Remain caml, take a deep breath and have a little self control, it's not the end of the world.
This site is ad supported!!!
If you hate advertisements so much, why are you reading El Reg?! Its an ad supported site. All these articles are paid for by advertisers. Maybe you'll just send in a check? Sheesh.
And NASA wonders why the public wants to cut their funding?! They've become a fat, bloated organization doing research in too many areas. Instead of focusing on a few projects they have a shotgun approach. Many on their earth monitoring programs are redundant since we have the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Why limit this to just the browser?
Why limit this to just the browser? It would be great if this were a standard window control widget throughout the desktop OSX. It could be up in the title bar just like the close-minimize-resize buttons. Then we'd have convenient granular volume control throughout the OS = much happiness.
